TL;DR "Completely redesigned to be easier and more fun to use." Translation = We've taken a useful offline database and turned it into an online social app. Long rant: When I paid for this app in 2013 it was a great offline database mashup of the Audobon Field Guide to Birds and Birding by Ear. Sometime in the last decade they changed the app to be free while emphazing sharing social data (marking where you're seeing the birds, etc.). They broke a few search features with this change, but it was still usable—if you had an active internet connection. Now I find I have to create an account and password to access the information (that I did pay for once upon a time)? If I have an internet connection, I can just Google for the info. The only people who need this app, are those who want to be a part of an online community. I really miss the simplicity of the original. I'm not giving it a one star review, because I realize others may like the new direction.

Account creation is broken. App requires email address in order to continue past first screen. When email address is entered, it redirects to a log-in screen rather than account creation process, but doesn't let me create an account to log in with. So, I haven't been able to use it yet.

Doesn't work anymore. It used to be a super useful birding app but now it constantly glitches. For example, I can't save birds to my custom lists and birds are randomly removed from my lists as well.

Awesome free app for bird watching. The pictures of each species is super clear and being able to set up notifications for species you are interested in is super helpful.

Love this app. It's so useful. It has all the info any avid birder could ever need and then some. Includes multiple sounds and pictures of basically any bird.

So far, it's a pretty comprehensive application. There is a significant bug, though, where you can't add field notes because the text you enter is white and so is the background of the notepad.

The app worked much better before the update. After the latest update, when attempting to select state and month in the field guide, the app locks up and will not "save" the selections.

What happened to the feature where you could pick your state and look thru the birds common in that state? There were a lot fewer birds to look thru when that feature was available. The way it is now you have to look thru over 800 species to find your bird.

Completely disappointed that Audubon has decided to abandon so many of their other flora/fauna apps (including paid) that have since been disabled. I guess the bird guide is next. It was such a good way to keep their name relevant. I will simply start use search engines instead.

I really enjoy being able to identify birds immediately upon seeing them. The app has not failed me in helping to identify the many species I have seen. I recommend it to many people that have a passion for nature like me

Good app if you can get into it. I forgot my password and have been unable to reset it. They say they're sending a link, but it never arrives.

The app doesn't open. I get the title screen and nothing else. I deleted it and reinstalled. Same result.

I find this app very easy to use. Informative and well laid out. The IDENTITY feature is very helpful!

There are few things more irritating than paying full price for an app, using it happily for years, and then getting an update saying you need to log in to use it.

I love this app! I'm an roookie bird watcher. I struggle a bit because I'm color blind, but this app helps a lot. No ads. No payments.

This app is awesome! Easy to use, very fast to make quick identification, and various calls to help with rare sightings

Kat. P. May 3, 2022

Love this app! I can open to a bird that I think I saw and know right away if it is the bird 🐦 I saw. And playing the songs of that bird helps too. I live in the woods and see so many.

Absolutely a blast! The easy-to-use "Identify a Bird" feature is so helpful!
