August 405

At first I was disillusioned as on all of my Android devices, it said 'No devices found'. The developer told me to activate location services in the privacy settings, which is wrong, but it did make me try enabling location and it worked! Scanning with a domestic aerial gave far more channels than the portable aerial, but it works well to paly the channels with only the portable aerial. The only downside is that it can only be used with one device. Developer: please add the need for location in the instructions. The manual doesn't mention this. I'm giving four stars because this is lacking and I nearly returned the receiver.

My neighbour said the product is amazing. She said it was easy to install and it is simple to use. Fantastic picture and sound and the recording feature works extremely well. A great product, can be taken to the park, shed, boat, camping and so much more. Basically, it does exactly what it says on the box - 'on the box' get it. Very happy, rapid delivery too!!!. 🙂😍🤩

Basically the app is 'PadTV' except it works over wi-fi. I get a little bit better reception than using a cheap 'Mobile TV Stick'. The 'Guide' is sorta useless as it stands, the one here is click each channel and see what's on instead of having an easy to read grid like a normal TV. Would like to see added: - work with Tvheadend. - a record in advance option with padding before & after. - multi device useable at a time not just one. - click & load channel via guide.

I downloaded this App which works very well. Unfortunately contradicting instructions came with the 405 unit. In the small booklet that came with it, it says to download the 'SianoTV HD' App but I experienced trouble with that. However, the quickstart sheet refers to the 'WiFi TV August 405' App and this is the one I am using with good results. After saying this the process of getting up-and-running took some fiddling about because of poor documentation.

If you don't stay connected its a pain to get it to work again. 1 turn off device 2 go into app settings force to stop and clear data 3 turn on device 4 connect to device wifi 5 start app go through start up 6 if you're lucky you can now select the device 7 scan for chanels but first select country despite giving it access to your location you still have to set it 8 finally if you have a signal it works I have to do this EVERY TIME and get the order wrong start again RIDICULOUS

Brilliant gadget. Works well even with the smallest aerial. Would like to have favourite channels feature (if there is one I can't find it) on the August 405 app instead of scrolling through. On the next update maybe?

Charged up the T405 transmitter and once connected it found 103 channels. Very impressive device and app for watching TV. App is easy to use even though the instructions supplied with the device are slightly out of date.

Absolutely useless. Will not connect to device. Device crashes WiFi. Does not work at all and cannot be made to work. Total junk.

Battery full. Signal full. Sound going off and on. Picture breaking up. No update. (What's going on?)

App doesn't find the device so useless. Fortunately the Siano app does work so at least it hasn't rendered the device an expensive piece of plastic.

Works brilliantly on the honor 10 which is on Android 10 but doesn't work well on the huawei media pad M5 lite 10 inch which is on Android 8 so slightly disappointed in that respect. What tablet would you recommend?.

It works perfectly, got all the channels shame you can't shedule record with the phone screen off !
