As with other reviewers,I found this app to be very poor & difficult, although not impossible, to use. I purchased the MS515 speakers which are small but quite good quality for their size & price. They definitely need to be used with the equaliser to accentuate the bass frequencies & reduce the treble ranges. The trick is to open the app first before turning on the device. It will then connect ok. However, I have yet to find some of the features shown on the quick start guide that came with it.
As much as I love the actual headphones (got four pairs of them at home), as much I dislike this app. I haven't been able to connect any of my headphones. I tried with headphones connected/disconnected, paired/unpaired, charging/non-charging and every combination. The app always shows the headphones when clicking the lens icon, but it never connects. I don't even want to use the EQ, I just want to connect once to disable the indicator light. Please update the app to make it work in a stable way!
UPDATE: The next day tried to connect and after tapping the search (magnifying glass icon) the headset appeared and I was able to turn on the led setting. Not touching this any more... so increasing the star rating to 3 stars. Initial post: Connected once but didn't reconnect to the app. I was able to adjust the EQ and turn off the led... now I want the led back on but I'm out of luck. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it... same issue. Oh well... I love the headset though... great sound.
Have installed app onto Galaxy S10 phone to use with new stereo speakers (MS515B). Speakers work perfectly using Spotify on phone and are fully charged, yet the app shows 'no connection' and zero battery. Consequently, all I get when selecting equalizer is a blank screen. 'Get it on Google Play' is printed on the box. At present, this app is pointless. Please advise.
I read the many complaints but figured I'd give it a go since I'm the patient/researching/determined type. This app is an embarrassment to the company + a complete waste of time. August Audio needs to reconfigure their app or stop making it a selling point in their marketing. I followed the App User Guide, I tried the many recommendations of people who finally got theirs to work after many trials of their own, restarted phone, made certain no other Bluetooth devices were on or even nearby.
Doesn't work. It says can't connect to headphones. Tried turning off Bluetooth and back on. Also also re paired but no connection (in the app) the headphones work fine. A red tick appears next to pic of headphones but that's it. Also when you press equaliser/playing nothing happens.
Like everyone else. This app will not connect to my device EP650 (with app compatability sticker and user manual in box). Tried connecting with my phone and my Chromebook. The headphones work fine and connect with either device without the app, it's just this app that does not connect and therefore is completely useless
Just recieved August EP650B headphones as a gift. App. works great hooked right up with samsung galaxy 7 prime. Was able to turn the bass down with app . No frills app has equalizer and local music only. Equalizer has 3d effect and led settings. Also shows battery charge. So Far So Good . Very loud speakers.
I bought a pair of EP650's back in 2013, then a second pair in 2015. Neither work in the app, so I figured that they must both be old models and therefore not compatible. However, when I go to Amazon to buy the latest model, Amazon says that I bought exactly the same product twice in the past. The product description mentions app compatibility, so I have no idea which version I have. Why on earth didn't August simply call the new version the EP651 or something similar?
UPDATE 2 - APK file from apkpure to get previous Ver.(2.5) Solution 2- if you tap on the search symbol at the top right it may show your headphones if you tap on it you will be taken to the EQ. I downloaded this a couple of years ago and it worked great now it doesn't even register my headphones (EP650) within the app so I cant use the equalizer or know what the battery percentage is at. Seriously disappointed paid for the headphones so I could alter the sound and now I cant even do that.
Does not connect to headphones when paired, just sits there with a blank screen. No options, no settings to adjust. Unusable. ** Edit ** Use the magnifying glass to search for headphones. Working now.
To connect to the EP650 it is not enough to pair the phones with the android device, you have to click the search icon afterwards... Weird, but it kinda works. Headphones are an absolutely fantastic value for money btw.
This is a pretty inexcusably useless app. I can't even connect the phones to it most of the time, and if I do, it's just dumb luck. Worse, August knows it too, and continues to ignore it anyway. April 15/21 Update: Beeps endlessly and loudly when the battery is still over 50%. So annoying that the phones are unusable now. Still no updates from these people. I guess once they've got your money, who cares?
download it with no problems and paired with my Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Smart 4K TV in about three seconds and it works perfect! I see so many complaining about the flashing LED light will this let you turn that off if it bothers you it doesn't bother me
Useful app. Connects fast to the headphones. I like I can also use it to also play local music. Would be nice to be able to save custom eq setups.
ep650 headphones - I was listening to music WHILE installing the app (huawei honor 6) and after opening, it connected automatically. pushed my fav style button and well.... 3 clicks and it was done. love it
Hey folks, i solve the issue how to connect the bluetooth from phone to EP560. First turned off phone. Then restart the phone...then turn on the EP560 when red is blinking it means turned om but this will not connect to the phone. So hold the power button until red and blue appears. Then toggle search in your phone and Wallah...behold tje EP560 just appeared....Good luck....
I only just purchased the EP650 headphones (Dec 2018). I'm on up to date Android Pie and they do not connect to the app at all.
Not to contradict other review but wouldn't say a total waste of time but definitely a waste of time. Did not connect with my headphones.
Bit of a fiddle to get it to connect to my headphones (EP650)... but once I'd turned off all other Bluetooth devices it connected straight away.
Just bought a new pair of August EP650s and downloaded this app. It connected to the headphones quickly and works perfectly.
What a waste of application, it doesn't load playlist and no settings whatsoever But the headphones is fantastic and amazing...
It's difficult to use, can't connect to the headphones, they have redesign this app for good with a new UI...
Any chance of having an option to turn off low battery alerts? Also would be nice to be able to lower the volume of all the alerts.
I'd like to review this app, as I have the headphones and want to use it. It simply doesn't load on my Android device so I have no idea about it.
Total waste of time. Wouldn’t connect with my EP650 headphones. Have uninstalled the app.
Same as another user here, the app won't recognize my headphones for using the equaliser. Is this app's or headphones' fault?
add another to the list of cant connect the app to the headset.
I wish it showed the exact amount of battery of the headphones.
It's pretty weird programmed, but the app is working as somebody stated in another review. You can actually connect to the headphones when you click on the search button in the right corner. This App hasn't been updated since a long time/2019. So I won't bet there will be any fix any time.
