The concept is really good but I have a few issues. Firstly the price seems excessive. Secondly, the paid content doesn't work without a good internet connection, meaning you can't use it offline or even with mobile data.Thirdly there are glitches: Ie in the cadence section the subdominant is automatically in root position(as required by abrsm) but some for some q's the answer is that it is in first inversion. Also in course 3 some q's just don't work properly (the wrong chords are played etc)
I can scream into this stupid app and it still randomly decides that it can't hear me. Other ear training apps seem to hear me just fine without the shouting. Not paying for any other grades.
Good, but beware the price includes one grade only! £23.49 seemed a lot, BUT I was in desperate need of last minute practice so went for it, figuring I could use it for future grades. But now I've gone from Grade 3 to 4, I'd have to buy it all over again! Definitely was not clear on this. Overpriced for sure, would be OK if covered all grades.
My clapping was in time but I was told that it wasn't, I sang the echoes loudly but was told that I couldn't be heard... I am an experienced teacher with a music degree, testing the app for my students. I do not recommend! Furthermore, the 'welcome' sound that you hear when you open the app is very irritating.
AURALBOOK excels in the breadth and depth of practical exercises that completely covers exam requirements at each grade level. The new version provides for a more efficient way of accessing each grade level for those of us who have several grades and best of all when we have completed a section say clapping in time we can more easily repeat any area since it is grouped into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. It shows how well you did in each question in each area. Highly recommended!
It's fine but only get a few example exercises. I found that some of the examples cut out before I had finished singing the melody or clapping the passage.
No matter how hard I clap the app doesn't hear it. For the singing part I have to literally scream to pass the level. In summary, I don't think this app is worth spending any money on.
Worked for five minutes on free trial . Paid for beginners version then screen froze for good. At best buggy,at worst a complete scam
I paid rs. 4000 and purchased all the questions but the ap is not accessible on android platform. So this ap is not recommendable for blind people as there is 0 compatibility with talk back screen reader.hopw they resolve this issue
installed, run the app, when try download a book/grade, it will randomly error at any progess and reset the download. Therefore never get it working.
Does not hear singing, says its too soft when im literally screaming at my phone...
Ok when it works but it keeps cutting out.
Better than the other. Nicer and less picky
The pricing is outrages. Nope!
Couldn't get it to open. Waste of my time
Love it!
I loved this app, it is really very useful for my music skills and lessons.
The app is ok but the price of the in app purchases is much too expensive. You can get the official abrsm aural trainer for much less and get 3 grades worth of questions and a cadence trainer. I don't kniw why this one has to be so expensive. The argument that it is like playing a music teacher is not a good one - this is a recorded voice, not a human. You can't discuss with them and they aren't thinking of hiw to teach you personally. It is an app. Shame about the price as it could be quite useful.
The voice is really annoying
Crashes every time i try to open it with my motorola E 2nd generation... Please fix it, the app seems really useful.
It definitely doesn't worth buying, there are hundreds of better apps that are even free...
Only let you to try some questions. Not free
Won't work on Motorola G 3rd Generation, crashes as soon as I open it 😞
I'm really glad that this helped me know what to expect for exam and improve my skill. I just wish it gives more free aural tests though.
Find all the grade apps in this extremely useful and my students love it. The shy ones can practice at home when no one is Listening! Thanks for this great tool.....
I'm just 16, and I find this absolutely fab, great help to my exam which is the end of this year. I was nervous about the aurals, but I'm much more confident now!
It helps my aural tests
This is a must have app for everyone taking ABRSM exams.
Very overpriced and incredibly buggy. £22 for one grade! The clapping doesn't get picked about 30% of the time. The singing also doesn't get picked up a lot of the time. This results in useless feedback from the so called AI software. The feedback is repetitive and not particularly helpful either.
