Terrible, never found nor connected to the light through every possible way using my phone. WiFi connect would find nothing. The Bluetooth feature is completely false. And even attempted the inferred option to link with the light module. All or any attempts just frustrated my efforts all the more. The audio listening way also produced absolutely nothing of actual mood changing.
tl;dr: security issues, poor quality. The product, Illumilight, itself sold at walmart for around 9 USD is about what i expected for the cost. not what was advertised on the packaging but worth the price, except for the remote which broke right away out of the box (poor quality adhesive). the app itself is fine and does what is expected rather well actually. but um giving it 1 star because i can see no justification for it to need access to my phones microphone contacts and camera.
Regardless of what the rest of the reviews may say, I have had an absolutely fabulous experience with this app. I linked 3 different LED items through this app then programmed each one separately to different colored and "themed beats" as well as their transitions to other colors with the 'fade, strobe, crossover, etc' categories. I lulled it all together then enabled the "SHAKE" feature for a bit of Showmanship pizazz!!! Quite obviously the rest just didn't take time to explore the app fully
About the only thing I can use this app for it to turn on and off and switch functions. I have 4 lights, bluetooth connection is shotty, schedule on/off doesn't work, doesn't work with music like advertised.
Biggest flaw is not being able to name the different lamps, you can only name groups . Second flaw is connectivity. It constantly looses connection. It's annoying enough to give up. Not very reliable. Best if you only got one lamp connected.
Completely false advertising. The video, which convinced me to buy, shows the lights synced to the actual video that you might be watching. Movie, etc. That is NOT the case. It does not sync to video.
It work for 6 hours if that! The connection was fine and all but I came back from school and the wouldn't turn on, so I tried unplugging it and plugging it in again, uninstalling the App and reinstalling it. NOTHING!
I got the tzumi light bar and the remote works with the light but the app does not connect to it and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it just doesn't work so its not a waste of money persay it the app or something needs to be fixed because I can see potential in this other wise its really cool.
Ok, so I used this app because the tzumi LED app didn't work and suddenly, as of 1 or 2 weeks ago, it just stopped working, I tried making a new list, reconnecting the lights, I do not know what to do, but until this problem is fixed on either or apps, I will leave it as 2 stars
The app works, when it wants to. Occasionally the lights shut down probably drawing too much power from the tv. My tv remote always connects to the light for some reason. Cheap quality.
THIS ONE not the other Would be 5 stars but it doesnt work in the background. I understand that the lights themselves cannot store a sequence, but the app should be able to transmit the sequence even when the app is minimized.
It works 100% fine for me. Synced up right away, and there seems to be no latency between making the selection on the phone and the change of the LEDs.
No saving presets or settings. I can make my edits as long as I'm in the app, but if i close it and open it again, all my settings are gone and reset to default.
the app worked with the product/ lights that were on my tv, but after using it for 2 days my TV would no longer work 🤬 how disappointing ! it's like my TV is shorted out it wants to come on but can't seem to hold the power, asif some sort of powersurge shorted it out.
I read a bunch of other reviews about the permissions required to operate the app. Seems quite sketchy if you ask me. Use the handheld remote or return your light altogether if you dont feel comfortable having your personal data stolen.
First off the app is far from user friendly. The Group Manage make no sense. Absolutely no instructions for any of the settings. "Shake Option" doesn't have an information about how to use it or what it does. "Modify Pin Sequence" has no instructions or what it even does. Please update the app for a better user experience. Everything is trial and error at this point. Last update was almost 3 years ago! I wouldn't recommend this app until these problems are fixed!
