This is a beautiful and atmospheric take on a classic genre. Like many games, it has a distinctive strategy and part of the fun is figuring it out. It is very hard if you don't play strategically, and reasonably easy if you do (hence the hugely inconsistent views on its difficulty). I give it 4/5 only because the pace of the game is a little slow and speeding it up requires an IAP (whereas other similar faster games on the app store are free). Support the developer if you like the game, though!
The game itself is simple and enjoyable, but the difficulty scales too extremely. Easy levels are far too easy, while hard levels are almost too hard. I have yet to complete an 'insane' level, and some of the difficulty lies in the fact that your given color doesn't create modules nearly as quickly as the enemy colors. I don't recommend purchasing the add-on levels and just enjoy the simpler portion of the game.
The developers obviously cared about this game, and it turned out amazing, very fun to play. My only complaint is how much content is only available if you buy it. Being a student (broke) i'll have to delete it for the lack of replayability after you've completed the free levels. Other than that it was a great experience. Loved how you feel like and inevitable force of destruction when you start a snowball of power and know, for sure, that there is no escape for your enemies.
While I would have to classify this as a Real-time strategy game, Auralux plays differently from any other game (out of many hundreds.) I've seen. The pace is slow and methodical, yet a moment's hesitation or a second - guess can cause a chain reaction of failures that might lose you the round. The controls, while simple, can cause a bit of frustration at first, but may be learned quickly enough.
This is a simplistic RTS game that is very fun and addictive! Game comes with a decent amount of maps. And sometimes it can get very challenging which is great. I beat all the maps available within a few so hours. The map packs are only 1$ and I think each one comes with four new ones. Maybe more. One more thing that makes me give it a 5 out of 5 all the way. NO ADS! I plan on buying the map packs to support the developer.
Auralux is a wonderful, real time strategy game. Very reasonable priced levels. A very big library of levels. Different challenging ways to play, change difficulties, speed mode. Over all just a great game. With a fantastic replay value. And they also have auralux 2 as well. .. hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years. One of the greatest game purchases I've made.
It was alright, problems are that the levels are too easy or way to hard. We breed slower than the bots and the bots get suns faster than we do which is completely unfair. The bots orbs are faster than ours too. It is a cool game with a great potential but right now it needs the help. I just keep replaying the easy ones at this point. I can't surpass the others it is too hard. Its really slow paced too, which is not preferable. 30min. I spent on a level just to lose.
I had a lot of fun beating this game, and it did not take too much time to move through it. I like tower defense games, and it helped me to think of this as a similar genre. Each map is a puzzle to be solved. Good times. Auralux 2 is also fun, and more challenging. I did not know a 3rd installment had been released until today. Also fun TD games are: 'Prime: World Defenders' and 'Grow: Empire Rome'. Both are winable without pay-to-play, but both also include pay options.
This game is unlike any that I've ever played. I definitely recommend it to someone who's bored of the usual mobile games. It's VERY hard, at least in my opinion, but not in a frustrating way. It takes a lot of time to win. You wage a long, unrelenting war against the enemy suns, losing terrain here and regaining it somewhere else. Victory depends solely on your forethought and perseverance.
i have to say that i agree with the many reviews that point out how the game is balanced on the surface, but it boils down to the fact that you are one player against 2 AI opponents, so it's just about trying to get them to fight reach other while you gain strength. i found it frustrating after the second level. It really is a pleasing design though :-\
This game is excellent, and surprisingly deep and strategic! It seems slow and simple at first, but it requires a lot of decisiveness. I would, really, really like an option to play as one of the other colors. My favorite color is orange, and I would absolutely pay the equivalent of a level pack to play as orange instead of blue.
Pretty cool game, I like the sound effects and the music and it can require a little bit of strategy, too. This game deserves a five-star, only because I've never had a single AD pop up. I didn't buy anything, so there's that! However, the levels are either too hard, too easy or until there's a certain point where me and the game reach a stalemate. Also, it is easily limited by how many levels there are. 12 levels and while it at least provides hints for each level, I'm not sure if they help.
It's an alright game. Strategy is good, makes you think, but I personally find the "hard" levels more "normal" or "easy". Seems like 90% of the game cost money $$ so unless you're willing to spend money for the levels, recommend you play a different game quite similar to this. Too much greed. I understanding wanting money, but this is too much.
An old timer here! The game and its feeling present remains unaltered. The beating rhythm and the intense situations during the late-game really kick in the vibes. Lots of ppl saying about the difficulty, but you got to keep in mind that this is in core an strategic game. Can't always follow the basic rules provided. Have a good observation and find a way yourself; there rly are ways to get through.
The last 2 times I've got a new phone this one of a few games I install immediately. I can play it again and again. The sequel is also an excellent addition and I highly recommend. Good simple strategy game, timing is key. Some games are simple because they are simple. This game has a nice subtle complexity to it in how u manage resources and time ur moves carefully.
At the end of the day, I love these rts games. Tjis one definitely is well made visually, I'd say the best I've seen. I would have given it fives stars if it weren't for two things. A. There are very few levels. There are premium levels, but I refuse to spend money on a free game. B. It can be very slow. The time it takes to move units can be very obnoxious, and I feel like it is their way of trying to make you buy a faster feature in the shop.
Phenomenal game, I have been playing it on and off for years, evers since i owned my iPhone 3GS, over time i switched phones, numbers, e-mail accounts, finished school and entered college, the only constant in all of this is Auralux on my mobile phone. One of the better strategy games on mobile, you can infer if you like the gameplay from the promotional pictures. If you like it try it, the combo of multiple map packs is around 4 USD, practically a steal for the gameplay and enjoyment i had.
Exactly what I was looking for. Simplest UI and controls that still allow you to control units everywhere and any time - and not only send them down set lanes. Real Time Strategy, but slow enough that I have time to think. Might have been five stars if there was a way to turn off the hints that show up each time I start a scenario, even if I've seen it before.
Absolutely love this game, been playing for years and years now. I've beaten all the stages, even in Nova mode, but keep going back almost daily and try to find different approaches. Frankly, good ol slow mode is my favorite. Very relaxing but with a sense of urgency since you're trying to beat your opponents after all
Pretty... and pretty frustrating. I guess I'm an idiot, because I can't get past level 2. The two AI enemies never seem to actually be aggressive to each other, but BOY will they double team you if you make even one over-extension. Perhaps it's more fun as just a fidget toy, but as a game... not so much. Worse still, the AI has a precision of unit selection that you can never really match without a lot of finicky zooming in and out. I wanted to like it I cannot better things to do with my time.
Really fun. Like commanding troops. || Second review || I just want to reinforce how great this game is. So many levels easy - insane but I beat them all. So I don't want to replay anymore, im over it. I feel like an old time veteran passing the baton to the younger generation. I don't evny the next generation because I've already completed the game, plus DLC in its entirety.
Simple game. No ads. Good for killing time. Decent amount of free levels as well as a lot of levels you can buy. Different difficulties allow for a chill, balanced or difficult experience. My top three free levels are oculus, arena and ring. Overall great game
pretty fun game.. the complaints about it being too hard or easy both seem misplaced.. you have to pit the ai against each other, but that's any war strategy. each level takes 15-20 minutes to complete, and they seem for about $.50/lvl with only a dozen or so lvls free. minimal reliability, so i don't see the value. (If they added multilayer that might change)
This game is an insanely amazing concept, but unfortunately the games are far too long and way too stressful for me. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, I just cannot play it because I get too anxious in those close matches and it isn't healthy for me. I think reducing the amount of units needed to upgrade or capture stars could make tho games a lot shorter. I haven't played the new versions.
Really nice game. At the beginning you lose by being too greedy and eager, and then learning some strategy levels get easier and easier, the level shapes keep it interesting. This games get back to the fundamentals of RTS which is really lacking in Android games. Thanks for making it!
