Only for people with Phys Phd's. Otherwise disapointing. It's some bar charts with numbers and no visible explanation of what they mean. It's like a weather forecast that gives you the rain forecast in numbers that give no popularly understood units. "Tomorrow there will be 2 bumible units of rain, level two point seven sun, at 0.1 wongleton, panthelised to a CZ9 later. Very frustrating and dissapointing. Shame because it gives data very clearly. But it's only for people who are Phys phd's
Best of these apps I've used. Constantly updates on changes to the KP index and alerts you when you have an increased chance to see AB. One night we had a 2 KP reading and a 4% chance of seeing the AB, we went to dinner and as we were finishing got a notification that the KP had jumped to 5 and that we had a 99% chance of seeing. We went out and enjoyed a mesmerizing show for the next hour and again at midnight.
I'm so happy with this app! It's full of intersting worldwide forecasts and live maps. You can opt in for notifications when the aurora conditions are good for that night, or within the hour, which is so cool. I do wish the app gave more local prediction data (like historical trends for the area I'm in). It would be nice to see what seasons I should plan to have outings in for my area.
easy, straightforward to use and very helpful. The could cover chart can be a little off but other than that id recommended this app to anyone.
Great App. I downloaded the top 7 and this was the only one i kept so i opted to upgrade it. Lots of great features. Clean design. Looks like i wont be able to see any Auroras anytime soon but at least i wont have to waste my time staring up at the sky at night while walking into elk.
Great app with brill Aurora alert details (it's a FREE & MUST have app!)
Two troubles: * It isn't clear in diagrams if the aurora will happen the night to a date or the night from a date * I usually use black-n-white night mode in the evening. The orange and green in the map is completely impossible to distinguish when the nightmode is on. Sure I can turn it of, but the 12% of men who have colourbliness can't, so it might be worth fixin' for them :)
Very helpful notifications. Caught Aurora from Stockholm on 16 Jan 2022 because of the app. I expect with the sun becoming more active over the next few years that the app will be very useful.
Brilliant. This app gave me a notification that the lights would be visible in 30 mins. I got to see to see the northern lights thanks to the notification . Highly recommended. 5 star
Got a notification that i have 47% chance of seeing aurora, and as i started to run around the windows, it was there! magical! thanks for this app!
a lot of options do not load at all on android. It does seem to work properly on iPhone.
It is slow to bring up. It use to show the color on the map when brought up. Now no color on map.
In my case this app was never wrong. Thanks to this app I saw Aurora 4 times. Thank you so much for the app that was the most presise comparing to others who were useless.
This app said there was 0% chance of an Aurora last night. My local weather forecast said there was an unusually good chance. I went out looking, and was able to see them. They were faint, but there. Busted my faith in this thing. Granted, the Aurora visible was not in the least bit vibrant, but to have no indication from this app was less than stellar.
I have been using this app ever since I landed in Finland. and forecast seems to be super accurate.
I really liked this app before 3 months. However now it is unusable. Ads are non stop and everywhere on the screen. You have to be careful as to not touch them by mistake. The app freezes frequenrly and shuts down. The interface is terribly slow.
Worked really well for me on a trip to Northern Finland. I have used other aurora apps previously and I liked this one because it also took into account cloud cover. Thank you for developing this app - the adverts were not a problem, it was easy to use and we were lucky enough to see Northern Lights twice based on predictions from this app.
best app out there! thanks to the app we have caught the Aurora in north wales twice!! it's such a simple view which makes things clearer and easier to understand, I'm always recommending it to friends and family! the cloud coverage makes life ten times easier as I used to check multiple weather forecasts etc but as its all in one place I can quickly see if it's worth a drive to somewhere dark! we are going to Iceland soon and have the app downloaded and ready to go!!
Very useful app! It was extremely helpful while chasing the North lights. Pretty accurate and I loved the alerts when the chances to see them in my area are high. Thanks to it I managed to plan and see them 😍 It would be good to have short intro to what the indexes mean and how to read them, though (e.g. what KP means and what do the numbers stand for)
Decent enough app. Since the last update however Norton reports it now has access to the Sim card and voicemail number that can be used for "data mining purposes". I'm not sure if this is a false positive on Norton's part or, if true, why the app requires these new permissions.
Provides great info, but I do have some suggestions that would make the app a lot more useful, which mostly surrounds notifications: -have custom notifications, where you can choose the parameters for when you'll get notified of possibly seeing an aurora. The app tells what the cloud coverage is; it doesn't matter how high the KP is, if it's cloudy it's not worth me getting out of bed to check out. -also have your minimum KP option so I'm not receiving notifications for 15% chance. -dark mode
I have successfully seen the aurora twice thanks to this app. I wish I could set the notification settings to wake me up at night but I think that's a phone setting issue and nothing to do with this app. Thanks for creating this amazing app!
Very easy to use. The cloud cover model is completely wrong at times but when the app registered anything above a 25 per cent chance of aurora, it was worth it going outside. I like it
I'm very happy with this app, I enjoyed the feature of an alarm...which was accurate as well, I received a notification stating visibility in an hour.... and it was correct! Although very faint, I was able to view....Thank you creators of My Aurora Forecast! Awesome job!
I have found this app useful as I love to see the Aurora and it has predicted seeing it in my area (Northern Ireland) at times. I have seen it twice when the sky is clear and away from the lights of the town. A free app that does what it's supposed to, what more can you ask for. Thanks guys!
Awesome app! Managed to catch the Northern Lights twice! Easy to use and beautifully simple
Great App and very well designed. The notifications give you a to the minute prediction and percentage of chance of seeing an Aurora Borealis. Great job. Very well designed 👌
