Really a great free app. The Name Search is amazing. You can use either first or last name and it brings those Birds up that contain that name. Also you can type in a colour to search for a Bird without having to touch the filters. Well done.
App is fairly easy to use and appears to have lots of content. Cant use the records feature without it crashing which is unfortunate. I'd love that to work.
Extremely simple to use and informative guide to birds across Australia for anyone wanting to learn or keep an easily accessible record of their sightings! Will reccomend to anyone!
Good for browsing but given that they show a picture of "Pigeons and Doves" perching, why are they not under perching birds!? Hopeless for searching for birds. At least it has pictures and info
Couldn't set up new account! It asked for affiliation details; affiliation with whom or what? If the app is as difficult to use as the registration, sorry but I don't want ut!
After just a quick look, very impressed. Means I don't have to take a field guide on motorcycle trips.
A great app that I use regularly. As a novice I'm finding it's taking me time to get the hang, but it's easy to navigate.
Not easy to make a favourites list for ease of rereferencing.
Inicial id index should be alphabetical for easy search. No info on what birds eat. Very bassic.
I can't open the app unless I allow app access to my photos and media files. WHY DO YOU NEED ACEESS TO MY ORIVATE MEDIA FILES?
Fantastic little free app for quick bird id and description for newbies or new into area
Unusable, unintuitive and no help identifying birds.
Why don't the common group names appear at the start. It makes it really hard for anyone who isn't an expert to know what group to look under.
No idea how your supposed to play the bird calls, otherwise seems good
Too hard to navigate through Latin names
Great resource when in the middle of the bush.
Doesn't matter what I search for I get no results. Can't work out what I'm doing wrong.
The search function doesn't work.
search function didn't work
Search doesnt work
Great to take camping out bush
Free and tonnes of info!
Not worth installing
Good as gold.
This app continues to be the gold standard for Australian bird identification. For a totally free app it has quality species photos, excellent descriptions and a name search that is just great. I have used this app for several years and wanted to update my review. No fees, ad free and has offline functionality. The developers and contributors to this fabulous app should take a bow.
A very terrible app developed by people who obviously know how to use it themselves but have no concept that a beginner might be incapable of reading the developers mind. I read "I just want to get started" and it is completely unhelpful. Apps developed by myopic people are all too common I'm afraid 0/10
I haven't actually used this app. I don't really want to either. Just wanted to say that the vehemence and vitriol directed towards it by disgruntled users is absolutely ridiculous. It's a free app about birdwatching, not a mandatory service. Chill the flap out ya bunch of cukkoos. EDIT: Just downloaded the app. It's got magpies. Seems legit.
This app looks to be great but when I play the sound files using samsung music, I get an incessant message telling me that samsung music has stopped. I don't think it has stopped as the sound continues I have uninstalled it in the hope that I can nominate another program to play the sound. 2 October: used google play works very well!
