Device test shows NFC ok, but when trying to view personal data the app can't retrieve the ID data, citing a weak connection. Phone works for payments, ID card works in a ID-card reader. Baffles me.

Its actually very simple and user friendly, but i dont know what is the advantages of Electronic Reseident permits, where can i use it. Can i apply online for extend my permits. I mean i really dont know how can i take benefit from this app.

The notebook version has poor design, part of the output is outside of viewport on Windows. It hangs when no card reader detected, all navigation disappears

It's easy and simple to use app. English language support is a great addition for newcomers. However very limited application scope. Hope the app will evolve over time and get integrated into many government services to make it to deal with them digitally. Please also consider to add Bundesland filter, so I can see available Service only in my area.

"An error occurred while communicating with the ID card" Every single time I type in a new transport pin, even though the app had no trouble communicating with and recognizing my ID card in the first place. Useless trash.

I guess the average score speaks for itself and it should be a matter of concern. The idea is great and promisingt, but the troubleshooting is frustrating. I followed all the instructions carefully and can even see my data on the smartphone app and change my pin. But after pairing with the PC app and trying it out online, it doesn't work and gives out the worst error-notification you can get on any application: "Error, please contact support" This is the same as not saying anything at all.

I give up. The designers meant well and I believe the user interface I well designed. But the technical problems make this app unusable. NFC reader works fine the first time to change the transport PIN to the 6 digit personal PIN but already the next attempt to see what data is stored on the card reliably fails. I spent 20 minutes turning and flipping the card (no case). 9/10 times, I get no reaction. If I'm lucky, I get stuck in the "weak signal loop". Sorry devs, but this ain't working.

I think the app is pretty simple and nicely done. I contacted the support and they showed they are capable and caring. Problem is whatever I did, it didn't work with my mobile (OnePlus 3T) and if there's a place where it showed clearly that the app doesn't work with my mobile it would've saved me and the support a lot of time and energy :-)

The app works very well. Special credits for ensuring that security is not compromised for the sake of performance. Every section in the app is detailed. Some sections also have graphics to help you understand better. Easy to use interface with all the necessary functions required for you to make good use of the "Online-Ausweisfunktion".

2021-01-18 Crazy bad NFC connection on Pixel 5 and Oneplus6. 2022-04-20 The app is Broken. Got Workflow_TrustedChannel_Other_Network_Error. Seems SSL is invalid.

I really tried hard but I can't get BayernID to work after more than 1h because the system is unnecessary complicated and the opposite of user friendly. Seems like developers are still stuck in 1995

Extremely inefficient and coded with two left hands. I lost an hour trying to pair it with my PC and Samsung Galaxy, to configure both CSL Card Reader (Realtec chip) mode and a Sac mode with NFC enabled. Just a waste of time! The instructions are very unclear and useless, the UI is poor. This app will be moved to dev/null with the next few seconds.

Someone finally answered the email. I had already done all the things mentioned there as possible solutions for my problem, but still decided to give it one more go without the phone cover. Finally, I got the app to read the card more than once. However, that requires you to repeat the process DOZENS of times. It basically works on trial and error now. I'm giving the app one more star just because I was able to read the card for the one thing I needed. It still needs to be improved a lot to be reliable, though. Thank you anyway.

The tutorial is very easy to understand and follow. I also like the idea that I can process MEIN ELSTER with the app.

After fairly quick support response, I manage to connect my ID card. They provided detailed instruction. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to change my pin code due to the weak NFC signal. This might be an issue with my phone. I don't know. Anyhow thanks for good and quick support. For that, 5 stars. I'll try my luck with a card reader instead.

Not even a slight chance to change thr given TransportPIN because this app wont connect. it recognises the card at first but even on the perfect position wont maintain a stable connection. I grt, that its kinda hard to program a an app which main focus is data safety, but come on, there is no usability at all right now. Money down the drain, by getting the online functions. (Oneplus3)

I was surprised it works that great already. Now i think the "Onlinezugangsgesetz" has a chance to be a success! (It also revealed that my address was outdated. They've changed it only on the (physical) card... Shame on the "Bürgerservice" here...) Update: I've been to the "Bürgeramt" and it was a matter of seconds for them to update my data. Now I've got a valid ID both in appearance and data - thanks to this app.

I don't know why this has to be so complicated. If there's a digital service provided with your ID card, by default you expect basic digital services such as change of address, or requesting renewal of card. I can't find any of that on the app or on the website. Or maybe it's just buried under a whole load of unnecessary information such as validating your ID with your physical card to see the same personal information that's already printed on your physical card. 🤦‍♂️

I wanted to use this app as an offline identification on my phone, just like the CovPass for vaccination, but it doesn't have this feature. I thought this app would work like a digital id on phone, so I don't have to carry an original all the time, but it's not useful for that matter.

What a waste of time and money. German ministry of interior should really re-consider their service provider. The app is not working at all, keep getting crashing while trying to identify the ID card. Terrible user experience, very badly designed app structure. As I developer myself I must say this was really really disappoinment to see German tax money is being wasted incompatible service providers. I hope they consider changing their service provider soon and release a new version of the app.

Absolutely terrible. The identification per RFID in your ID card is virtually pointless. Most government agencies still end up sending letters to your mailbox and require a signature for verification. App crashes all the time/barely manages to read the ID cards/loses data when card is moved only slightly on the backside of your phone.

Like many others, I encountered an endless loop. Followed the instructions per the video. It never worked. I contacted support, they said the card was defective. I bought a new card... Now I am concerned if I do this again it will ruin the new card that I paid for... When will you acknowledge that something is wrong with the app in relation to the ausweis? How much evidence is required?

The user experience is terrible, unable to use this app to update my PIN on my OnePlus 5T. In spite of following instructions (e.g. removal of phone cover, full battery, connected to charging cable), the app is unable to maintain a reliable and stable connection to my Ausweis via NFC, in order to update my default PIN. Scrolling through the reviews here, it seems like this issue is common and persistent for other users. Hopefully this issue may be resolved soon.

The card cannot connect to the phone. In an attempt to change PIN, after entering the Transport PIN, the app always says there is an error communicating with the card. I tried with software on computer too, doesn't work. I restart my phone my laptop update my phone but still it doesn't work.

As IT and UX/UI-expert this app IMO just confirms that germany totally fails in eGovernment. I was not able to get a static connection between my mobile (tried Pixel and S9), MacbookPro and the ID. So the identification with this app and the ID never worked in any possible combination. In comparision in the netherlands their DigiID works like a charm just with a mobile and sign up takes 5 minutes. Some days for the pin and then you are done. This german solution is a mess and will never work as also never get any acceptable support as it´s too complicated.

Hallo. I just waisted three hours trying to make it work and now it does not read my ID card. My smartphone is completly fine, I checked. Very unpleasent experience! "NFC cannot read, try again". I already tried woth another nfc app, it works... Really don't understand what might be the cause
