Authenticator Pro - Free and Open-Source 2FA TOTP

I'm an IT professional using 30+ 2FA codes. This is one of the few apps which allows categories, and it does it better than the others. I can finally separate out my personal from work codes, as well as organise my work codes better. I love that it can generate QR codes based on ones in the app, something none of the others can do. I also love that I'm able to export the list so I can edit and organise them on a PC and then copy it back again. Brilliant!

Literally, what can I say? This feels like a premium paid application, sleek modern design, and it feels secure. The fact that this is a free, open-source app, is just unbelievable. I would pay a good £5 with the features and designs included. No faults whatsoever.

I've been using this across any account that'll let me for a while now and I've gotta say, I love it. Simple, clean UI, easy to make backups, plus WearOS support if that's your thing. My only complaint is that the WearOS companion can be a little unresponsive or slow to load if you have a long list of accounts, but that's more of a problem with underpowered watch hardware than a flaw in the app itself.

I just installed it & wow works Fast easy to import & loaded it on my Samsung Smart watch Classic 4! Freaking awesome! Amazing that other Authenticators Can't figure it out how to Get it on a Smart watch! Used the code on My watch & it's so Freaking easy to use! Kudos to devs! Just one word to describe.. Excellent! Used tons of different auth apps, but everyone have one or more flaws, some were expensive paid, some have UI issues, some have customisation issue and some have security. This is the perfect one. Perfect UI with useful customisation, Highly secure, backup is encrypted with your own seperate passcode (other than app passcode) and not mandatory to upload to cloud, take backup on secure pendrive and good to go. Impressive! 👍🏻

Tried out several apps moving from Google Authenticator. Much preferred the customisability of this application compared to others in terms of folders and colours. Would recommend.

Be better if the WearOS version was a full version and not a companion app only. I really only came here because i need an authenticator on my watch, i dont need to double up with Authy thats already on my phone....and on my PC. 5 stars if you ever release it as a standalone on WearOS. OR make a PC desktop app as well and make it cross platform maybe? Edit: Dude, if you dont want suggestions or feedback, the internet is not for you. Also ive been giving away my work for free for 20 years, so stop acting like your sacrifice of a single app for free is saintly....sheesh. Lose a star...

Does what it says on the tin. Access is protected by password/fingerprint/face, passwords can be set to be invisible until tapped. Backup and recovery. I cannot fault it.

I got this because I was looking for a way to get Google Authenticator on my watch, and all I can say is wow - this is everything Google Authenticator should be and more. It's a little sad that a trillion dollar corporation cannot make there official app as good as this. From now on, I'm ditching Google and just using this instead. Let me list all the things that this does the official app doesn't: -Easy, portable backups -Sorting however you want -Multiple Display Options -Icons -Watch support

Works well on my watch, and is one of the only options for wear os. Very easy to add codes on the phone, and the watch has access to all the same code generators. Along with a touchscreen interface, it utilizes the scroll wheel if your watch has it, a nice touch that some apps lack. My one gripe is that it doesn't work without a phone connection (watch can't be in airplane mode). On the other hand, I don't usually need access to a code for the few times I don't have my phone with me.

SHORT VERSION: Nice upgrade from Google's app if you only use it on your phone, incredible upgrade if you use WearOS, less useful if you use Tizen. DETAILS: I've found I really love this app - integration with WearOS was a big win for me, and the categories and icons are a nice ease-of-use bonus! Plus, it just works - which is a critical part of a 2fa application. Unfortunately, now I have a new watch on another platform, and may have to look elsewhere. If this app added Tizen support as well it would be perfect, though I understand if that doesn't happen and won't dock a star for lacking a feature this doesn't advertise in the first place.

This app had great potential until I had to do a phone factory reset, reinstall it, and then try to restore my tokens from a backup saved to my SD card. It said nothing to restore each time. So I was locked out of many of my accounts with OTP. Cloud backup would really help as a backup to the backup. Also one must always set up their OTP accounts with alternate recovery methods which I have now learned the hard way.

I'm having trouble changing the language of the app, it just doesn't change. I tried to clear the cache and change the language on my smartphone, but the app is still in English. This goes for all languages.

Having used a myriad of authentication apps I have to say the simplicity of this one is perfect. I initially thought I was going to be making compromises with this app as I installed it due to the availability of a WearOS app but I have found it works just as well as any I've used prior! My only gripe is that backing up to Google Drive is not natively supported and doesn't seem like it will be in the future.

Fantastic Android and WearOS app. Beautiful, clean and simple. Offers local backup (unfortunately not to cloud, but that's on purpose to limit the permissions required). One feature I wish was available would be 'last used' or 'favourite' entry for the wearOS app My corporate account is used 90% of the time compared to all of the other ones and this would minimize scrolling and taps. With that feature - 10/10! FEB 21, 2021 EDIT: dev listened & default entry now available on WearOS. Amazing!

Excellent app. I was interested because of the WearOS support. The WearOS app works, but is quite slow to load. Needs a bit of work. Android app is fantastic though.

I like this app very much, but it does have a problem with my Samsung in screen fingerprint sensor. Sometimes the sensor doesn't activate, and I have to use the password. There's text that says "Use Biometrics" but it does nothing. If you could have a button or link to activate the sensor when it doesn't pop up, I'd really appreciate it. This isn't a problem on rear fingerprint sensors, but the dumb in screen sensor doesn't always show up.

This is my favorite authenticator app by far. It has all the authentication protocols you need, automatic backup, huge built-in collection of icons, imoort compatibility with most authenticators (including Steam and Blizzard !!!) and much more. I still have a few small requests to make it absolutely perfect, but those can be made over at GitHub. The dev is very responsive and frequently updates the app. I whole heatedly recommend this app.

Easily one of the best authenticators out there. Clean design, excellent functionality and regular updates! Also makes it very easy to organize codes with categories. Super useful for separating personal codes from work.

There are so many safe options and recovery options as well with security in mind one of the best I've seen I don't know which company this is but I hope they make it up there this is the only 1 I use but if I didnt I would just use this one five stars easy and customizable I love that the timer can be set to turn the app off you can choose which file path / folder you want it in as well as passwords j so far the app is great I will try to think if any other options or ideas no complaints

Like others, I have been looking for an alternative to Google authenticator because they dropped support for wear os. This app is an excellent replacement and more. Better written, better features, open source, and it works with my watch! I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Absolutely Superior! I spent tons of time trying to set up OTHER authenticators. T1hey are ok if you only use the phone, but synchronization to other devices... A hassle! EASY and straight forward. Lost or changing hone? No problem. And it is backed up online.

Excellent app and phone app is pretty good as well. Has standard backup function but no sync options is a bit of a let down. Would love the ability to save directly to a cloud service. Also no easy way for users to export. Asking users to use openssl is going to lead to negative reviews.

This is a great app, but my Wear OS device won't display anything (TicWatch Pro 3 GPS). I tried everything but it doesnt work. I'm using the F-Droid version, I don't know if that's the cause tbh (don't think so). Aside from that this app is destroying its alternatives. Great work! Edit: Thanks to the dev for telling me I need a github release wearOS apk for what, just sideloaded it and it works like a charm!!! By far the best on the market.

Worked well for a while, but then suddenly only shows an error, rendering all my codes inaccessible. This is unacceptable, this type of app NEEDS to be rock solid. Wouldn't ever use again. Edit: updating does not help.

Great replacement for unmaintained Authenticator+. Cloud sync is not available but I understand the reasons explained on GitHub, and other apps can manage this synchronization if needed (FolderSync seems to do the job). More options than Authy (tags / category, auto lock delay, ...) Good for users with many 2FA accounts (may be a more compacted list view will be great :) ). All the websites I use have already the right icon ♥ (except 1&1 that should be updated after Ionos acquisition ;) ).
