Worst experience using The score seems arbitrary, if you don't have the criteria that you're graded by, then isn't it just a way to keep your driving score low? Says no hard braking, says no speeding, and still low score. I don't do any rolling stops, I don't slam on my brakes, I don't speed, don't drive aggressively, but even so I've never gotten any info on what exactly the app looks for you to do when driving.
The app interferes with my using other apps even though I sitting in a parking lot or in my own house. I have to close the onboard app so I can order takeout. Also, it does not record all my trips. The app shows in my task bar as running. Finally, it seems I get penalized for NOT driving or driving short distances. I'm retired so I don't generally go out. When I do go out, my stops are less than 5 miles away. Other reviews hold similar complaints. I'm hoping for fixes in an update.
Since latest update app constantly pops up saying stopped running . Latest trip to town it did record trip to town but not return. Sometimes when I log in screen goes black. Said I hard break 2 times last trip to town when I know I did not. Been running app 4 months Same locations that would hard stop in past an made extra effort in the past to be aware of that an it stopped until this new update.
They have missed many trips and decide I am the passenger when they want. Then it keeps saying I am hard breaking. My car is old and does not do anything smoothly. What will happen when I move to the dirt road and the car is rocking. The sensor does not know I pressed the break. Only that the phone gyro moved. There are 6 huge bumps in my parking lot alone that make it do it. I had a hard time using it when I was stressed trying to call for tow. And the response here makes me want to not renew.
The worst app ever. I used this app for more than 7 months and my score never went up more than 85, although there was absolutely no hard braking and speeding in each of my trip. I don't know how to get 100 Haha. Based on my previous score, i.e., 85, the projection discount was 26-28. Surprisingly, couple weeks before the renewal the score went down to 78 and stayed on it. Now the projection discount is 20. I did not have any hard braking or speeding. I really disappointed by AAA. This is fruad
Ok, the one overiding issue i must comment on is simply this: when needing to communicate to the AutoClub that you are in need of roadside service it is much better, easier, less complicated if you do this through the app! Great service, competent roadside service techs, and prompt. I have been a customer since my father gifted me the roadside service the day i started driving. Why be a victim on a dark and lonley road? With Auto Club you can stay safe in your locked car and call for help.
Driving tracking seems totally arbitrary. Records events every time phone moves- not the car, even in a parking lot or in driveway. No way to edit event. Do not recommend using this for driving tracking .
TripTik concept and end product, if you can get there is great. Ease of use for adding/modifying your destinations/points of interest/changing routes and limit of 25 total per trip is inconsistent and cumbersome to use at best. Rest of the App features work well if you don't intend to use TripTik.
Not able to finish onboard registration. It keeps asking me to activate on board, when i do, it asks me to start driving, and yet when i drive, it cant detect me driving. And every time i log in it always ask me to activate onboard.
Great company, great app but too many ads. App has lots of info and features, but it's what's missing that is not good. Doesn't allow payment by credit card. Other companies do. Not able to use travel agent. Also design could be more friendly.
The rest of the app is fine but the driver discount is malfunctioning? My score never goes above 76 and always says I have hard breaking. To prove it was the app not me , I had allstates driving app tracking as well... 100% and no hard breaking. Hope this is updated soon
I do not understand how my "responsible driving" score relies on other drivers. If someone else cuts me off, suddenly brakes hard (such as giving another driver the right of when it isn't theirs), or does not use their blinker causing me to "brake hard" why does my score go down? What am I supposed to do? Hit them instead of brake? I don't get this. I thought this app would be rewarding me for driving the speed limit, stopping at red lights/stop signs that sort of stuff but no. Very frustrating.
I had to change my rating to a lower rating. In theory the app is great; however, the onboard always negatively impacts my score because Hard Braking gets you a lot. I t constantly says hard braking. I go out of my way to avoid braking and roll to a stop and I still get hard braking. I've tried everything. Also, I've drove out of my way to get "cheapest gas* and the app has been wrong a few times. But the HARD BRAKING is what I find really annoying
The app is fine for the most part, but the hard braking detection is utter nonsense. I get hard-braking for making left turns, for coming to complete stops, and for driving slowly. It's so sensitive that I find myself slowing down on the highway long before my turn comes and pissing off the drivers behind me. After seeing so many other complaints about it, I wonder if they created it intentionally to avoid giving the discounts they promise for safe driving. I assure you, I am driving less safely to avoid this ridiculous punishment by rolling through stop signs and taking exaggeratedly slow approaches to stop signs. FIX THIS!
Battery life is terrible. I have a brand new galaxy s22 phone and the app is constantly tracking my location. Forcing battery optimization to be off, makes my phone go dead in 5-6 hours from a full charge. In addition, if I don't go on a 'road trip' I get warnings I'll lose my discount. I do not drive much at all, so what do I have to do?
When I use cruise control on the highway, my vehicle maintains a safe distance from the car in front of me. This leaves a large gap that other drivers exploit. This causes my vehicle to decelerate rapidly to increase the follow distance to the new vehicle in front of me. That has reported as a "hard breaking" incident. I'm not happy about receiving demerits because of a safety feature on my vehicle working appropriately due to no fault of my own.
I was at a store, turned off my car and could not start my car when I came out of the store. I called AAA and was told someone would be there within the hour. The technician was there in 10 minutes which was much faster than the time initially given when I called. I was so thankful that he charged and interrogated my battery. I was given the status of my present battery and was on my way home within 20 minutes. Thank you AAA for such prompt service!!
Horrible experience. Customer Service entered the tow request right away and advised a 1 to 3 hour wait. Used the app to track tow company progress. 3.5 hours later called AAA and they said the tow company is behind schedule and there's no ETA. If they had told me that at the beginning I would have Ubered home and not sat in the car for 4 hours. For the amount of money we pay yearly and the years we go without using the tow service you would think accurate communication would be a top priority.
Been a member on/off over years (couldn't always afford renewal in time).Bought battery w/72 mo/3yr warranty.My membership expired, at 3yrs 2 months battery died. For the 72month prorate replacement the cust service said I had to start new membership in order to use the warranty. What a scam! Since I had no alternative, I started new membership, 1st cust serv said $65 & about hour to have battery to me(that I still pay for). 2nd said $75 for new membership & EXTRA $75 for service same day! 🤬
Loaded it twice and both times the app thinks my zip code is in Missouri when it is not. I think the app means my state is grouped with Missouri, which appears to be true but I should not have to guess and the app shouldn't state clearly wrong information.
The updated version should carryover log into account information. Everything these days require a Password, who can remember the ones used infrequently.
App is not taking my debit card for payment, indicating it as "unsupported". However, I was able to use the same card successfully on the web site to make this payment. Not very convenient at all. I do like the gas price locator, every other feature appears to be okay. Fix the payment feature!
The hard braking is not very accurate. My car has tight braking and the pressure makes it so I "jerk" when I put pressure on the pedal. I am usually right lane slow speed driver. No need to hard brake.
AAA makes it easy to sign up and get the app set up with a simple email, they give you all the information you need to sign up for the app. I just downloaded the app and got it set up and I was impressed instant shopping savings and lowest gas prices and if you want to pull up your policy or need roadside assistance it's right there on the front page of the app.
I love it, I got a great reduction in my premiums. Living on a fixed income I need all the help I can get. All I can say to others, be grateful for a tool that reduces expenses in this inflation.
I've been a AAA member for 31 years and have had my car insurance through AAA for at least 5 years now. It's gotten me through so many sticky situations satisfactorily. AAA helped me through my recent car accident and the resolution was smooth as silk. My agent and the other departments i had to go through went above and beyond the call of duty and kept in constant communication through it all. I wouldn't change a THING. I trust AAA.
Very convenient. I Love it. I'm able to see the Membership, my auto ins and our Renters ins all in one.
I've been carpooling since February and this App calculates even if I'm not driving. I'm thinking, I need to disable the App anytime I'm riding with someone else...
Everytime the app is updated, my insurance policies disappear! Why is that? I was just on the phone getting my homeowners put back on, two weeks later, no auto or homeowner policy listed! So an application that not only promotes the running of yellow and red lights, but also fails to maintain the information of the client. SMH
Tried to use the chat feature for battery replacement help. The chat window scrolls up and down arbitrarily, and if you exit the chat for any reason, it starts the entire process over rather than keeping you connected. Was fortunately in a place where I could use the website instead, but feel bad for anyone attempting to use this app on the road. It does not work well.
