I am changing my rating. I have been using this app for a few years without any issues but lately this app has not been performing. The rules are not triggering at the times set or they don't trigger at all. I have the volume set to increase at a certain time, that doesn't work anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that hadn't fixed the problem.
has always been helpful to take more control over phone settings. i use it to set my ringer on or off at specific times of day not allowed by the stock phone programming. it's also useful to automatically change the screen timeout, depending on which app I'm using. while I wish it could do more, that would mean I'd have to root my phone, and I've had a rooted phone with tasker before, and I wasn't smart enough, or interested enough to read through the tutorials. this is good enough for me.
I only use it for volume control when playing music, but find task creation to be easier than with the competition. App is however in need of an update. On Android 9 it's no longer possible to access the rules market in the app. This issue does not occur on older versions of Android.
After an automatic update of this app, most of my rules that require permissions started failing. I found that if I edited one of the failing rules by changing any parameter, saving, edit and change tha parameter back to it's original state and again saving, the rule again worked. Interestingly enough, all other failing rules began working automatically after the single edit to the first rule! Been using this app for a few years, love it! Don't like the devs silence on the issue tho...
This app is very good. A very easy way too alter your apps.
This is such a useful and simple app that delivers such great functionality. Unfortunately, it broke when Android 10 came out. It doesn't have to do with the app, but Android 10 broke access to the phone's sensors and has not been made a high priority fix by Google.
Tried the app (with the free variant) before my purchase and it worked fine. After that I set up my phone with lineage os and installed AutomateIt just to realize some triggers won't work, e.g. cell trigger, connected to specific SSID. I already contacted the developer via the displayed mail-address but received no response at all. My main reasons for the purchase were exactly the above mentioned triggers, so the app is kinda useless for me right now.
2 stars because it offers a lot of options to execute automations. I only wish they worked though. A trigger comes in and the automation doesn't even work. I'm pretty tech savvy so I checked the settings in the app and permissions. Nope, doesn't work.
This app allows you to add full automation and semi-intligence to your device with various rules, triggers, etc. Even if you don't know how to spell algorithm, no worries, because there are tons of applets already completed in the crowd sourced market. Need to enable your WiFi when you come home, there's an applet for that. Need to send out an SOS to friends/family for whatever reason, there's an applet or trigger for that. You want your device to be smarter and more useful, then this will help.
Have the pro version. I just wanted it to play a sound for an SMS containing specific text. The problem is that when it plays the sound, it repeats untill I restart the device. And I can't find support for this anywhere.
a great tool for building automations
I can't see it going back to a state before applying an action, ie max media volume when starting an app, and automatically setting volume level to the state before launching an app. While it's easier than tasker, this option I really miss.
I have been using automateit pro for years now. I was wondering if there is away to turn android work profile on and off as one of the actions . I hope I get a response from . Otherwise it's a nice app helps manage your life in a smart way. it definitely needs to more user friendly from simple Android users .
After re-downloading the app, I can't use the rules market. It asks me to register, but says "No Google account found on this device." I have 3 accounts on it, all Google, and have purchased the pro version on my Google play account. When it used to work, it was one of the best apps on the market.
I've owned the pro version since 2015, and have been very happy with it until now. App does not always trigger as it should. I've reinstalled, cleared cache, and redesigned tasks. Nothing works.
Hasn't been updated for ages, developers unresponsive to reports. Broken on Android 10 (Can't launch apps). Shame really - been using this for years but unless they get back on it it looks like my time is up.
I have been using this app for years, it has been very useful. However, my Pixel 3 was just upgraded to Android 10 and the application is no longer launching apps.
Can't find any wifi networks lately, therefore wifi related triggers don't work. Huawei Mate 10 pro, running Pie. I've all the permissions properly set up, also no battery optimizations for the app.
Bought the pro version for composite triggers. Trying to set up SMS trigger but text to speak doesn't work. Trigger fires but No sound. Update: downgraded rating. No response to review or bug report. Unable to register on forum.
This app is fantastic!!!!! How can I set it up to... Bluetooth conncected-play music playlist-disconnect-quit playing playlist.
Used to be a very effective app, now it crashes a lot and doesn't work 90 % of the time. That's ashame ..
Was a great app, used it since s3. did everything I asked of it (pro version) though recently rules are failing to activate, so I'm having to check the phone which defeats the objective of using the app in the first place. Please fix
Actions still not performing properly on Note 10 plus & up. Actions only work properly WHILE in the app itself. Not gonna lose hope! You guys do good work.
Plugins don't register and there seems to be no way to contact support -- no email or contact info on dev website and forum registration doesn't work. Posting this review as a last resort.
For the people who've updated to Android 9 (Pie), in order to get the app to start working again you need to re-enable AutomateIt's ability to access Notifications. For example, on the Galaxy S10/10e you need to go into the "Settings" for the phone, then go into "Apps", and click on the three vertical dots to open the secondary menu. From there click "Special Access", then "Notification Access", and finally turn on the slide switch for AutomateIt. Reboot your phone and the app and your rules should be working normally again. I noticed that any Time-Based phone-silencing triggers just actives the phone's "Do Not Disturb" mode now instead of toggling the setting directly.
