In theory, it's great. I love it when it works, but the data doesn't always sync well. You do have to charge it to sync. I've searched everywhere for customer service contact info, and it's like they're actively avoiding giving it to you. The Q&A section just takes you in circles. So yes, in theory it's great when it works, but there is still a lot to fix.
Already ready to resell my bracelet, due completely to the app not working! It won't sync the data, and sometimes won't even give me the option to sync. Instead it just has a never-disappearing notification saying "error syncing, make sure to wear your bracelet snugly at least 4 hours at night."
Bracelet strap is extremely uncomfortable and the loops to hold down the tail of the strap brake easily. Besides don't pay for the money back guarantee, you have to make sure you wear it a certain percentage of the time to get it but the problem with that is, the bracelet doesn't register if it's less than 6 hours of sleep or if you sleep during the day. So unless you have the perfect sleep schedule it's a waste of money
The app crashes every time I sync my data. But I just close out the app and go back in and usually it works. Today it's taken me 4 times. Love the bracelet but the app has never been great.
Ava helped get me pregnant the first time and the second time. Very easy to use. The only thing is the app does sign me out every once in a while for no reason which is annoying.
Not quite there yet. The information provided by the app is confusing, telling me things like my temperature went up three days in a row - but the data screen does not reflect that! I'd like more effort put into actually offering an interpretation of what these things mean instead of just giving the information. Daily tips are sometimes just snippets, with no forther information to back it up or explain. The longer pieces are written in a really weird style, can't quite find a word for it.
After the first 3 months, my Ava bracelet wouldn't sync. Cust Service was kind enough to send me a new one. I lost data for a week, plus the shipping time to get my replacement bracelet. 3 months later, my "replacement" shuts off while I'm sleeping hough it was fully charged. Lost 2 days of data so far. You also need to uninstall & reinstall when it give sync errors. So many nights that I wasn't able to sync. If you're thinking of buying this, DON'T!
The app normally works pretty well but I've been having some problems with the bracelet being charged and collecting data. I specifically bought the package that if you're not pregnant in a year they'll return your money but only if you sync so many times. Because of the problems I've been having I'm afraid it's been voided despite wearing it every night. Today there's not even a button to sync my data. Hopefully these problems won't count against me.
Battery status in app would be great as the battery life seems very short. It acts up a lot, says it needs syncing when it has been synced already. Doesn't charge sometimes unless it's unplugged and plugged back in. Would not invest this much money again. I think right now it's worth about £50 considering all the hassle and lack of functionalities.
This app doesn't do a lot. I've had it since mid-October and I've had to re-login to the app often and reset my password each time. The app itself once logged in is simplistic. You sync the wristlet once a day but if you sleep in late it'll give an error message and there's no resync option so you lost that day's worth of data, which is important to get accurate results. There's also a article to read each day, but opens in browser rather than app and repeats next cycle. App works but is ehhh...
The bracelet is a waste of time and money. It is made cheaply and has unfortunately been faulty for me. Doesn't show you the battery level, but they suggest you charge it every night. It won't tell you if it holds the charge, doesn't show anything until you upload the data to the app and the app crashes all of the time. Look elsewhere for something that will log your temps.
The app is overall good and does the job of measuring your data. I was annoyed however with the fact that I repeatedly had to resign into the app in the morning before I could sync my data. I also had to repeatedly convert my units of measurement back to what I wanted almost weekly. And even though I had the bedtime reminder setting shut off, a rimder for bed time still popped up nightly.
App is great mostly. I have to go back and forth between tabs to truly refresh the data after I sync the bracelet each morning. That is a huge pain to do, but otherwise, it's a good app. It didn't help me get pregnant the last time, but many of women have success with it. If your cycles are irregular, I don't recommend spending the money, but if you are fairly normal, I think it could help.
App gives unhelpful errors or just plain crashes probably 40% of the time, including account logout/reset about every other week for no reason. Device doesn't tell you about low battery until it's too late and seems to lose the whole night of data regardless of when it died. App UI is intuitive but algorithm is so obfuscated that it gets hard to trust that it's actually working to "detect" your fertile window based on your data, it seems to just be using statistics.
App is horrible. Constantly locks me out. I have worn the band every night since I purchased it about 2 years ago, but it doesn't always record data or sync. Customer service was no help, wouldn't send me a new one even thought it was still under warranty. My wristband was starting to tear so I contacted support for just a replacement band, and they wanted to sell me a whole new ava! I ended up fixing it with super glue. Oh, and I'm still not pregnant. They won't honor that guarantee either.
I've had SEVERAL instances since getting the Ava when I've synced but no new info comes up; it just says "Synced just now" or something similar. The next day, it reminds me that syncing every day gives accurate readings and it says the day before is blank, even though it has a time of the last sync being the day before. It doesn't give me an option to sync again. It's frustrating, please fix. I loved this app until this problem.
The app is buggy. It logs me out frequently which is annoying and a time waste. Also, when syncing data it often says data did not sync when actually it did. Sems tech is poorly supported and because of that I'm not sure it's a product I can trust. The bracelet is also not so great. The light colors are difficult to differentiate and sometimes they flash continually even after being synced and plugged in. There's two bands on the strap and after a few months, both have broken off during sleep.
For the price, I expect a smoother experience and hope they fix it. The app token expires, logs me out, and forgets the settings and login info. 1× a week when I sync my data from the night before it will say there was an error, but not after I restart the app. 1-2x a mon the bracelet does not buzz when I put it on for the night, so I remove the bracelet from my app, disconnect from bluetooth, and wait till the light goes off on it to redo. The bracelet is flimsy but data very helpful.
On occasion, the app will have trouble syncing to the bracelet, but usually just small fixes. The bracelet, on the other hand will need some work on the manufacturing. The small metal rings on the underside of the bracelet seem to fall off at the slightest touch on some bracelets, but not others (I'm on my 3rd bracelet due to this issue). Replacements are issued quicky and without question if it is a true manufacturing issue. Overall, I am relatively pleased with the bracelet and app, they both just need more tweaking!
I like the concept but the bracelet needs a lot of work, since the update it takes several resyncs just to upload the data from the night before. My account gets logged out every few weeks, currently trying to login and can't, and password reset isn't sending the emails and just last night after charging the watch died and it was just charged that day. A lot of fixes need to be made.
I LOVE my Ava bracelet. However, the technical complexity and functionality of the app that comes with it is flat out terrible. My reason for saying so is that it does not offer even HALF of the options that Lady Cycle (my favorite tracker) or Ovia has. It would take more than the space of this post would allow to write what I wish it had. It would be nice to use ONLY Ava. Especially for what I paid for it.
The bracelet is wonderful if the app worked. But this app is so terrible. Half of the time I don't have the option to sync my data it just tells me when I synced last! But after sleeping I open the app and half the time can't sync new data. Then it won't allow for editing or adding in missing information when and if the app does function properly again. Which messes up my whole cycle and the point of wearing the darn bracelet. Even better is that this started happening around ovulation, maybe.
