Avira Optimizer

Woke up half way through the night and my phone was like a hot plate, the overcharge protection side to this app does more damage than good. The phone was too hot to touch and actually hurt to pick it up. I do not recommend at all. This app is also super invasive when it comes to notifications as even if you turn them off in your phone's notification settings they still find a way around it. The endless spam of notifications is unacceptable for a paid product. The optimisation app also is useless as having it run in the background to do what it needs to do will actually consume more battery than if the phone was just doing its own standard thing. Would only recommend using the app as a one off to manage junk files etc and then unistalling after use. Avira needs to sort this out because as I mentioned in the first issue, having my phone overheating to the point where it is too hot to touch is unacceptable. And clearly you have had this problem for a while due to other reviews reporting the same problem. It's a fire risk, and considering most people charge their phones at night whilst they sleep I would say you could have potential law suits on your hands in the future. I'm never using this app again, I'm not risking my own safety and the safety of those around me, and personally I think if you have this installed you should remove this from your phone immediately.

The app is good and I have only a problem or two. First of all I only downloaded it for lock with guestures mainly. Which does not work outside the app. Means, it will only work when the app is opened. Even I gave all the permissions to the app. Second, the cache in mobile phones' app is generated every few minutes but each time the app says no junk or cache found. Please fix these two issues, mainly lock with guestures because it is very helpful. No more to say.

I bought the paid for version, and it works very well. It manages to clean my storage, and clear my cache with no problem. I had to disable the battery saver though, as it prevents my phone from sending any notifications to my smart watch (which took me ages to figure out why I wasn't getting my notifications)

Won't pull up apps to stop. Won't show profiles. Might be good, but I'm dropping Pro until it's ready for prime time. In response to your support message: I went to the URL. It's a knowledge base. I tried searching for my problems and it shows NOTHING.

Antivirus: good. Optimizer : horrible. It crashes with out error message or warning. No logs either. Sorry. I tried uninstall/install the app. Still the same. Not applicable to Alcatel Pop 3.5. It crashes & turned on the phone by itself in few hours. It drains my battery even further especially when connected online.

Have decided not to install this app due to the number of Permissions it wants. Some of the permissions requested I can see could be needed but it has one of the longest lists I have ever seen requested by an app. I use Avira Antivirus/Security here and on My PC, but for an "Optimizer " I am very disappointed in Avira and what this app requests. I would be very interested in explanations as to the need for ALL of the permissions listed/requested. Thanks. Doc

This is a great cleaning app so far. There's the typical junk and memory cleaner, but then the battery saver worked very well I have longer than ever battery life using my phone longer. However I'm only giving it 3 stars because it turns out it's going to be discountinued which they did not mention in the Google play description so I didn't know until I just installed it. Inconvenient to know that, because it was a good app. But I found a very similar alternative app called "dfndr battery"

Not keen on the latest update, as the widget has been spoilt imo, with no details of how much has been optimised (as with the previous version), plus it looks ugly. I also don't like the permanent notification, which you cannot remove without losing some functionality. Despite loving this app before, I am now sadly forced to find an alternative. Update, reinstalling will not fix ugly looking widget, and why should I have to pay for pro version to remove something that wasn't previously there?

This is a legit battery saver! No other app like this has come close. In fact, I believe that some other battery saving did nothing to save my battery if not cause it to drain faster. This app has amazing features. $2 a year is so worth the pro features.

This app is able to clean part of the junk but cannot clean residual files. I like the fact that it can clean and optimize during lockscreen. But, for the price you buy it for I think that's how far it can stretch.

This app is rubbish! With the new firmware update to the latest android version this app performs badly. I first used this optimizer then the devices, the result was that my devices optimization cleaned more from both storage and memory. Uninstalling also sped up my device up considerably! The app really knows what I need, either it's boosting an app or saving battery. Cleans the phone and keeps it optimal. And I really like that I can use Avira on multiple platforms. As of yet I haven't found any cons, so Thumbs up

This optimizer is amazing and is easy to activate the trial. Only problem is that the wave gesture thing does not work properly. So fix it. Otherwise, it was great

All of the other battery saver apps are a joke. They either don't do what they claim. Or they will mess your device up. A few of them will even set themselves as your launcher with out you knowing. Or they will change your display brightness to 50%and you will not be able to change. Which happened to me. Till I found this app and it fixed that for me. Now not only does the battery saver work. But it helped me fix my tablet. THANK YOU AVIRA

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even pay for this. I woke up at night and found my charging phone with charging screen on and hot like a pan, with no charged percent. No option to turn it off. And the auto-swich profiles? Holly cow! That's a joke. How to set up the night profile? No time window to set up. I am unable to get rid of that useless notification saying that the battery optimization is ON. I would rather turn it off. And you know what? I'll want to have the refund.

One of the finest optimisers I have ever used!! Not only it cleans memory and storage, it also has a nice battery saver interface which actually saves battery! No ads, only action..Avira is rocking..Thanks to Avira team for this amazing software 💜😊

My screen keeps getting on and off sometimes when I'm using my phone. Also, when I'm watching videos all of a sudden, the screen locks or keeps turning on and off. It's so annoying I'm a premium member so no excuse. Please fix it.

Trial version s very easy. No need to connect credit cards or anything. Just register with email and then trial version is on for a month. Yearly fee is also cheap less than $2 a year.

Installed fine but when I try to use its features, such as the mem cleaner option, it just sots there with a loading indicator and never populates the list. I'll look for something that works instead.

Avira Optimizer is nice and easy-to-use app, I really liked it and it works nicely as a free app, I've been using Avira Apps fir a long time now and they're really good and efficient, my be not the best optimizer and cleaner around but one of the best, I recommend it.

The optimization is good. It makes my phone a little faster but not as swift as it should be considering i optimize each day. This bad boy should knock the balls off anything i decide to clean (pardon my being crass) however i still habe apps in the background that GUI to boot up anytime they want to. A little tweek should fix this.

It's features doesn't work properly . memory cleaning , widget , lock with guesture and premium support is showing error. Can't recommend it to anybody since I myself is not having good experience.

I've never rated an app before but love this one! Simple and quick to use, best part? No Ads!! Well done guy's, other apps take note! Tried so many optimisers but they were so bogged down with ads they were frustrating to use.

Most optimisation features do not work (they just freeze) and can't register with Google either (also hangs). Useless App, it does nothing that the built-in Android/Samsung optimiser can't.

works well, widget one touch only works one time on optus x power, need to go into actual app to properly optermize phone. no problem other than widget problem, and would rate 5 stars if not for that.

A really great app, haven't had any issues, and the "pro" version is super cheap compared to some of the other options, 'bout £1.50 per year.

Thought I may as start the "Pro" program after I had signed up to trail. Had an email to the acknowledging the update but I still see trial period for 29 days. I think it was a good move.

online support only is terrible. no help. just articles that are too technical. cannot get features from Pro on cell phone ad advertised no email links as promised. automatic renewal was not wanted, yet cannot stop it.

Its pro version using App not running background and not optimize any app,I'm not seen any difference Battery saving without this app,when this app opens then starts optimize background app its waste using this people love automatically running apps
