Very easy to use!! I pulled up the app on the way to the Avis counter, it showed me a picture of the car I was renting (an upgrade from what I reserved) and it told me which spot it was in and said the keys were inside. I bypassed the counter, and went straight to the car. At the exit gate, I showed my ID and was on my way. I was very impressed. My stay ended up being longer than I expected. I got back on the app, hit "modify return" and changed my return date at the same rate.
The days leading up to this trip, I was thinking 5stars. It was easy to book. They kept emailing that all I have to do as a Preferred member and it being prepaid, was to go straight to my vehicle. I go to the preferred line and only one lady working the Avis counter and 2 other rental counters. Finally, she asks my name but can't find my vehicle. She goes in the back, returns with a set of keys. I wanted 3 stars but because of her, I gave 4 stars. Vehicle was great, she was great. Preferred? Not
I never thought I'd ever rate a car rental experience as amazing but the Avis app is just that. Got out of the plane, opened the app and it told me which cars were available in which spots. Near seamless experience. I did have to go to the counter but the guy was so friendly it actually improved the experience. Great job Avis (and the app designers/developers).
The app auto confirmed a reservation for me, without any confirmation screen or option to rescind, and I've spent the better part of a month trying to cancel the reservation and get my money back from Avis. Instead of any help, the company has deceitfully claimed I picked up the car. I would never use this app again, and am hesitant to use Avis as a whole.
the app is ok has issues too with not ever being able to pick a car that actually exists, but the real issue for me is the Avis customer service. Avis billed me for a rental that I did not take, it took months to resolve and I had to prove to them I was someplace else. no apology, no credit voucher. just automated email bs.
Worked as advertised pre-covid but the last 6ish months since I started travel again it's worthless. Not sure it's the app but the whole Preferred program. If I'm lucky the Preferred counter may have a key ready but usually not. No longer are the days you go directly to your car and drive it out.
Very intuitive and fast. The error messages could stand out more, but all in all a well put together app that checks most boxes.
Does not live up to the promises advertised. It's full of bugs. You can't change cars because if you try to change it before you arrive, it doesn't allow you but once you attempt to change your vehicle when you arrive there's never any becomes available. I book your rental with points and cancel, you error message and your points are never returned to your account.
Easy to use, however 'Keep me signed in' functionality doesnt work, neither does the 'use fingerprint'. So everytime, you have to login. Frustrating!!
Impossible to update credit card information. Tried contacting customer service and they aren't even able to change it. I have tried calling and going through multiple emails. No one seems to know how to fix the website and app IT problems it has been ongoing problem for a year at least. Please fix the billing and profile issues. Otherwise all of my rental experiences have been positive.
As a long time customer this car rental is horrible. The rating should go down to two stars. I have rented multiple times and havent had a great experience but once out of all the times I have rented. The cost is expensive and they add fees oncr you get to the counter. Also the car would be available on the app as an prefered customer but once its time for pick up the car wont be available at any of the locatiln listed in the city. Even as a guest or prefered customer.
It lets you rent a car, but half of the touted features like "check in and choose your car" only send you to a screen that tells you to talk to an agent. Don't pretend to have working features if you don't. That's worse than just not having them
I already had a rental and just wanted the app to remember the rental number and info of that rental. I should not need to add in Credit card info just to be able to view this info. I am disappointed in this app due to it not allowing me the oprion to set up an account without cc just to hold reservation info.
Codes upon codes. Wizard, AWD, Preferred, Discount. Not necessarily an app issue, but, perhaps the app development would be simpler if it didn't have to deal with all the codes.
App doesn't always work or show your information. And no express way to communicate with someone during your rental. Worst customer experience. First and last rental with AVIS!
I have been using Avis exclusively for about 6 or 7 years now and have always been more than satisfied. I usually work from my desktop, but i have been using the mobile a lot more often. It very easy to use and user friendly . Keep up the good work.
Constantly glitches. Too many to number. My reservation disappears, modifications are intermittent, prices never stay the same, etc. All around terrible app and service to boot.
Does not allow you to choose your rental vehicle without it saying "visit Preferred counter". Happens in Boston, Fort Lauderdale, etc. Waste of an app.
Worst app ever. Pickup option via the app doesn't work. Had to wait in line 30 minutes to get a car. Hertz and National are way better.
Cannot sign in from any device in Georgia - tried three! Just see the circle that stays forever. Tried to log in with Amazon - also got an error. When enable VPN and try to login from the US - it works.
This app used to be great and it has been terrible the last few months. It's 2022. This should not be a bad experience at this stage in the game. Get it together development team or I will be using a better service. Easy to book but when I arrive, it never works.
Modifying a reservation lost all selections. What should be a simple pickup time adjustment has taken 15 minutes. Like starting over. Ridiculous.
Garbage. Preferred is just a word. Every airport it's the same issue - app will not allow you to select your car and directs you to the desk where 100 people are in line.
Always a pleasure! Great customer service. Clean and reliable vehicles. Makes my trips easy and enjoyable!!!
Useful, mostly easy to use, but very misleading. Mileage usage is not clearly represented in the estimated total, which can lead to an unexpected total on return of the rental. Other fees and rates are clearly represented in both a different font and color, and the included mileage is shown as "null" if it's not unlimited (this alone is probably confusing to some). Some navigation features don't work correctly, such as the x button on the '?' dialog closing the entire app instead of returning.
