I've been using the icontrol5 for my VSX830. It's been very frustrating to say the least Constant trying to connect via ip address. When the icontrol5 works, has great features However, this app seems to connect everytime with no issue so far. I've been using for 1 week. I highly recommend if you are just as frustrated using the Pioneer app

Tried with VSX-1311 and would not connect, even after manually entering the same IP used with iControlAV5

Tried to connect to my wired VSX-1020, no good. Tried to enter the IP manually and all I got was a black screen that I had to force quit out of.
iControlAV5 doesnt work on android 9.0 and it doesnt appear it will get anymore support; something I found out after my phone upgraded to 9.0. Thankfully this app works on my sc-91. It offers very basic function like volume, sleeptimer, zones and inputs but I will take that over no control over my receiver. I hope the developer works to add more functions and make this a replacement of the iControlAV5. I would be willing to pay for a more full featured app.
