It really just doesn't work. Tried both android and iphone. Both get to a point where it says "setup is completed" but then they return to the home screen with no device in the device list, and the console shows it is not connected. Repeat attempts cause the app to just close--again on both android and iphone. Even tried the Osprey Tool and no dice. Just doesn't work.

This is some absolute garbage. You can't add your weather station with this app that requires it to add. Absolute total trash that does not work. If I could give less than one star, I would do that. Dumpster runoff software for Android. Of course, it's catered to for Apple as apparently it works fine there. But Android yet again gets the shaft.

App used to work to connect my weather station, but recently my weather station lost it's connection. Tried using this app to reconnect it, but the app just crashes every time during setup. Making my weather station effectively useless

Unable to reconnect to Wi-Fi. Others got it right. The Mobile network & Wi-Fi Assist are the problem. I tried it on a Wi-Fi only Tablet and it worked. The App didn't die as it did on my phone. FIX THE APP.

Lost power and it always loses the station with a power loss, it should automatically reconnect...but now I can't even do that, the app quits when I try to reconnect the station.

After the last update wheneveryou click on the AW dashboard it carrys you to the playstore and pulls up the ambient weather page in the store and you have to click on open. Otherwise it works great!

Had to change the password for my SSID. Lost connection to the unit. Now when trying to reconnect the app keeps stopping in the process. I HATE THIS!!!

Worked good for awhile now it keeps crashing and we can't connect our station to the wifi.

I like having remote access to monitoring; I like the device. But, apparently there are two versions or two tools for setting up your Ambient Weather device. With this one I spent over an hour trying to get my simple temperature sensor to connect, and nothing worked. The interface didn't look the same as what's in the help/support tree and the instructions in this tool didn't work on my device. There is another app called Ambient Tool. Once I found the 2nd Ambient Tool, the interface matched the online instructions and it took a minute to get connected and for my account to get updated. Be sure to get the right tool.

Horrifically bad app. Even worse Company. Look at all the 1 star reviews. Complete redesign necessary. WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. Yes I am shouting.

Worked as advertised once... It claims to connect to my device, but it never verifies. Once it stops "spinning", the device list is empty. I can no longer edit the station update intervals. UPDATE 6/28/2020: After several app patches firmware updates, I can access the configurations from my device once again. We'll see how long it lasts, as a patch would come out, work for a while, then flop. It would be nice if there was a way to subscribe to be notified about firmware patches, as I don't have time to babysit all my devices. The GUI needs some attention as well.

Terrible app and system for connecting WS-2902C. it won't connect no matter what. It won't even move to next after I enter my password. I can't even believe this app has any ratings above one. You see all the people that can't connect and they still rate it a 2. The only purpose of this app is to connect to wiFi and it doesn't do that. As far as I'm concerned it's a ZERO or less. Completely worthless!!! UPDATE: got in touch with support service and they fixed the connection problem with the app.

Won't connect, keeps timing out while trying to connect to WiFi. So glad I spent money on the WiFi version. Edit: got it to connect with an ancient tablet, but it won't show up in the device list. Added a single star for that, but I shouldn't have to find a crappy ancient tablet to do this. Anything else would just do the same "Timed Out" that everyone else complained about when you tried to connect to WiFi.

The app does work but it's completely non-intuitive. I finally had success by doing the following: putting my phone in airplane mode, enabling wifi but disabling wifi calling and connecting to my router with the 5.0 GHz channel disabled (despite advice from the manufacturer that that isn't necessary with the new model, 2902A), and then running the app. Once you get to the screen with MAC address, you can re-enable your 5.0 GHz channel and turn your cellular antenna back on. Good luck.

App works as expected following the directions in the manual, which talks about some of the edge-cases others are complaining about. However, the app is overly simplistic and lacks basic functionality beyond initial setup, such as switching WiFi networks once you're already joined. I ended up repeating the pairing process from scratch.

After you put in your Wi-Fi network and password the book says press Next, but there is none. It has two other sites that you could register on, but not unless you've already gone there and set it up. It's confusing as to whether you need to do these or not and why. They need to separate the ambient site registration, which I think it's all you really need to do, then ask you if you want to do the other sites, or have separate apps for them. I would have done another if it weren't so confusing.

Like a great many small companies trying to be tech companies, Ambient has bitten off more than they can chew in maintaining two mobile apps. The connection succeeds but I'm assuming the handshake between the devices fail and a timeout occurs. As soon as I saw that an app was required to set up the station, I expected this to happen, and it did. I eventually gave up. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because the app did at least not crash.

Hard to Connect. Dual band router and using android. I tried over and over with my phone and I couldn't connect to WIFI. The app would fail when I hit save. Tried with another phone and it made it a few steps further. After repeating process 20 times it finally was successful. Then I tried to update firmware but javen't had any success yet. Seems like if you keep trying it will eventually work but it would be nice if you only had to try once.

Turn off mobile data. I was only able to get this app to set up my weather station after disabling mobile data first by putting my device into airplane mode. I then connected to Wi-Fi only l. Once I did this, it quickly set up the weather station. The instructions for this app should be updated to reflect this, or it should be fixed so that this is not required.

Spent 30 minutes and then said, "forget it!" Did they ever try this themselves??? When trying to configure it says put in the wifi info and press "next". THERE IS NO 'NEXT' UNTIL YOU SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM AND PRESS 'SAVE.' So then in connects and then you get a pop up where it tells you to connect your portable device to the wifi of the station that it give you. IT'S NOT IN YOUR LIST OF AVAILABLE WIFIS BECAUSE IT IS NOT TRANSMITTING!!! Absolutely the worst. Totally unusable.

(Cross-posted in the Osprey tool reviews.) This app doesn't work if you have an Android device running Q (Android 10). You'll need to use the AWnet tool. However...if you're prompted to upgrade the firmware on your console...DO NOT DO IT...it doesn't work. You'll be able to connect the console to WiFi but, it won't stay connected more than 30-45 seconds. I appreciate the console and am glad it still works. I miss the internet connectivity but, I guess for the time being, I'll live without.

App no longer finds my WS-2000 weather console, despite being on same network. The WS-2000 is not included among those options available to configure a new device. Some information appears in the support forums with respect to a setting on one's router. This proved to be unhelpful as well. I am able to see the device using awnet when using my tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 running Android 9, but NOT when using my phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra running Android 10. Very frustrating.

I have tried about 6 or 7 times, including with phone in airplane mode. Made it to the finish button only three times. The device never shows up on the list. The weather station works great, the app does NOT! When I picked up the phone, happen to hit a button at the bottom of the screen and there was the device. They do not make it easy.

Upgraded console from 2902A to the 2902C (in hopes to eliminate connection issues) and didn't have a problem for about a month- then the update and I haven't been able to connect since. The app keeps force closing. I have contacted Ambient and App support. App support started out responsive, they had Qs, I answered (I'm using Android version 12), they seem to have stopped communicating with me. No one has even bothered to follow up and at least say they are looking into it.

Very frustrating to set up my ws-2902c to begin with -- checking/updating firmware is near impossible. I tried to check today - when connected to the same wifi network as the display the ws-2902c does not even show in the device list. If I connect to one of my other networks, it shows but once tapped I get a red busy circle that eventually goes back to the device list. Very disappointing that such good weather equipment has such a poor setup app.

Times out every time on my Note 9. I have four networks (2.4GHz)--won't connect to any of them. When the phone connects to the base station, the phone automatically switches to the base station's WiFi network ("AMBWeather-WIFIAD4C"), so the phone loses its Internet connection.....if the idea is that the base station will THEN connect to the Internet through the phone, that can't work.

I see a lot of bad reviews, but am going to chalk quite a few up to user error. This installed and connected first try to the weather station, and I even signed up and added a WU account mid-installation. After setup it automatically informed me of a firmware update and installed it. Within about 20 minutes the station showed up on the WU database and has been perfect since.

Totaly useless/non-friendly app. I have more than 50 devices connected to the WiFi, it took seconds to connect them, this app makes you guess how to connect the station, it says to press Next, but there is no such button. The worst experience I have ever had with any app. Why on earth they need a separate app only to connect the station to WiFi?
