Poorly built app The back button exits out of the app, rather than going back to the last screen shown, which is infuriating The events you favourite on the website when logged in with the same user account are not reflected in the app or vice versa -- if only AWS had access to some kind of cloud services to store such information
Genuinely one of the worst apps I've ever used (and I'm an app and web developer for many years). Requires a live internet connection to work and in a conference environment (eg AWS Summit London at Excel) this was non existent due to network overload from thousands of attendees, and yet AWS made the app critical to find session venues and plan timings etc. I'd recommend against attending any AWS event until the app is fixed, it's a nightmare otherwise. App needs to work FULLY offline.
it does its work, but the navigation is slow and not really smooth. the locarion map is not showing. when you select filter you need to click on refresh to get the right results
This app is a pain to use, most of the filters don't work, the map is unnavigable, and the back button UX is frustrating
Nice app, helping a lot. Just one annoying notice it's not remember filter settings between sessions.
Relies too much on having a working data connection. Bit of a problem when the venue has poor 4g and limited WiFi coverage.
The map of the venue won't load. The session scheduling is difficult to navigate and seems to overwrite favourites on the calendar or not remember selections.
the calendar needs to be clear what day is for. also it doesn't look like it syncs from the web to the app as I'd added my events on the web and now my calendar is blank 🤔😠
Pretty useless: can't see the floor maps or the session. booked (those sections are empty).
Really poor. seems to always require internet access even for access to my own saved calendar. Almost unusable.
nice app but schedule was available only hrs before event. would be nice to have ready at least 24hrs before.
Catalog and other features work but trying repeatedly to add a personal calendar event and it never saves...
I lost a workshop because it was required registration and in the app was marked as walk up.
Very helpful app. Why only 4 stars? Because I expect more from Amazon. To be really customer-obsessive. This app has small fonts, the map is very hard to use, etc.
Pretty bad. SUPER unresponsive. A lot of times, clicking items doesn't do anything. You have to leave the app to get a general agenda as well as FAQs and other information. No information as to session size so we can figure out the chances of getting into a session if we're on wait-list. Plus a ton of other super obvious problems.
Although the app isn't as snappy quick as other apps, I didn't experience the slowdowns my colleague and other users have experienced (I use a Samsung S10+). That being said, there were times where info was unavailable, or that sessions I already reserved shows no more seats available. The information provided was very useful, but reliability could've been better.
Have the developer's of this app ever been to a conference? Especially one like reinvent that is oversold so most sessions are full. Start with the app is slow and hangs up. After you get over that it's not very friendly for navigating the catalog or managing your calendar. Simple things like single day view are missing. You have to use this for reinvent, but other than that I'd never download this mess of an app.
About 60% of the time I tap the "planner" tab, I get a message saying the "session catalog is unavailable at this time", which isn't great because the planner is by far the most important feature for me. Killing the app and restarting it doesn't resolve the issue; not sure what does. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and not being able to figure out why is pretty frustrating. Other than that, I can't really comment bc, again, it's the only feature I need. UI looks good though 👍
Good app, as far as information it gives (how to get around and whatnot). Well thought out with regard to the UI. However, it does run slow when registering button clicks. It doesn't seem to be storing my planner locally (said the server wasn't available at the start of the conference when I was trying to find the room for my bootcamp) and that's kind of weird. Also, it gives lots of event info, but it would also be nice if it gave the network password for where you are currently located.
Content disagrees with website. Key example, website says session is booked, app says spaces available. Sometimes pressing buttons does nothing, so you don't know if you can't do something because of policy (enforces 1hr between sessions at different sites), if you've lost WiFi, or the app has crashed Some good features but it's too heavy, switching apps on my 3GB Android makes it restart, last thing I need when I'm moving between seminars.
invaluable but incomplete slow and most tedious frequently has to completely reload often enough that I am always standing there waiting for it when I need it in a timely way. I would make two key changes to this application. One: fix the timeouts so it's not constantly reloading when I need it. Two: make it easier to view the overall reinvent schedule. I often found myself going back to the website for that information.
For the most part the app does what it needs to, but at reinvent 2019 I keep getting notifications with useful information, then when I click them they disappear and I can't read the whole message or get it back. About half the time I load the app my schedule says it isn't available yet and I have to try for a few minutes to restart the app and my phone until I can get it to load.
struggled when the network was poor yet to see an aws event app which works without a hitch :(
keeps crashing, has to be online, just cache so I can use the calendar!
In the sessions catalog, states sessions have already taken place, but haven't!
Did not work when I was at an event. Looks like the remote server got overloaded when too many delegates were trying to use it at once and there is no local cache in the app. The developers should find a better cloud provider and some competent professionals.
