Axel (XML Editor / Viewer)
It can open, create, edit and save XML files, as well as HTML. It alse validates every input and adds syntax coloration.
Use a long press on any node to bring the context menu. Also default quick action are enabled : simple tap to edit, double tap to add a children.
Axel can read valid XML documents, HTML documents (valid or not), and some compressed formats (APK compressed XML, PList).

(2.4.1) FINALLY! I've tried most xml viewers /editors for android, & this is the ONLY one that WORKS! Plus, it's free & no ads! Thanks a lot! Just one question. Most information about xml files say that they can be read by a text editor, so why do they always look an encoding MESS in a text editor (even if they use UTF-8)? By the way, they are PERFECTLY readable in THIS!
It is weird and uncomfortable, all the attributes need to be modified in another screen instead than manually. You aren't able to write anything manually. I rather use any other text editor.
Ahh the good, old xml editor. Have it on all my devices just in case I need to work with some xml files. Yeah, it is pretty old now but it works and that's all I need from it really.
When i create custom attribute, i can't switch to another app. Popup is disappear.
It works! It is still the best XML editor in Google play. : (
doesn't display the date of a file when opening, and can't sort by date

I was trying to edit retroarch to get it showing up in the game section. I added the intent and saved the file. I inserted the file back into the apk and signed it with zip signer. I went to install it on my shield TV and got a parsing error. I looked at the XML again and the the text format had been changed completely when I saved it. Ugh!
Nice app. It's pretty awesome. They only thing is I'm getting "invalid syntax" in an error. I'm trying to edit an Android manifest file, so I add an element, I name it data, I go to put the information in "android:mineType=" when I added a custom attribute. Could you please update so that manifest files for Android can be edited, please and thank you, in advance.
Almost perfect, the only flaw it currently has is that the search function does not put the view where it found what you were looking for. Other than that it's considerably better than any other text editor for going through xml files.
Its fine but controls should be easy. It should open as text file where we could write normally as we do in computer.
I received the error "unable to read document, unknown format" for a valid xml document. It erred on "&" which is the correct way to encode an ampersand.
The same perfectly valid files which can be opened on a PC are not being opened using this app.
I wonder if it is possible to convert XMLs back to binary so that they could be used in an apk again? I don't have access to a PC right now, and it would be awesome if I could just modify apk files on the go.
it works finee..I got a xml file from the game developer of middle east empire to Translate it into other language... This app helped a lot...without this I had to work on pc
Said no available parser. If this is a standard error with a standard solution, then a standard fix would be appreciated ;).
Unable to show contents when there is an XML declaration at the top of the file.

Seems to be the only editor that qualifies as xml editor. All others seem to be text editors with some syntax highlighting.
Very much useful app for wcc2 for making the balling or batting ability 100%

A good app with a somewhat clunky interface. My main issue, however, is that it never knows that it has been saved: it continues to display the asteriks in the title bar, and when I press 'preview', it asks me to save, which I do, then displays the error message 'file must be saved before preview'. It could become very useful if this is fixed.
