Updated review: [previously 1 star] this app has gotten progressively better over the last two years. It is still quite slow. Fixing that may require loading nothing but the bare minimum data required to display the initial account summary. Also reduce the use of loading animations. With a focus on cold launch speed and performance, this could be a solid app.
Overall the app is good to work with and I'm grateful for that. I have experienced over the years that the balance it shows in the very late evening and very early A.M. isn't always the same, even when all the figures reflected online are all the same. I've learned to just wait until the next day to verify my Actual balance. This app has improved substantially over the years from what it once was. I absolutely love the fee reimbursement for other bank ATM's. Will Zelle be added as a service?
The bank is great. The app isn't the greatest. Very slow, bugs often, no widgets, difficult to navigate. Can't even log in right now because it's telling me to update even though it is fully updated. Edited because support helped out. The app could still be better optimized though, it's quite slow and UI needs improvement.
App is slow and the Bill Pay feature breaks the keyboard when paying three or more bills making it unable to add amounts. :( The number keyboard remains on the screen even after closing Axos and opening other apps. Advice for Axos like I tell my 2 year old, "Keep trying". :) Not sure how clearing the cache for the Play Store helps the Axos app besides freeing up memory, as recommend by Axos customer service in a previous reply.
The app does what is supposed to do, but it's very slow loading most of the time. I feel like a recent update may have broken biometric access. I had used fingerprint for a number off months, but recently it tells me I need to enroll in profile settings... Which I am... Would be nice to have the feature operational again.
Unlike many of the other users apparently, I've had no issue with using Axos at all. The app is great I've had a minor glitch issue with a transfer amount one time which was an easy fix. No fees and no complex stuff. Used US Bank before and disliked their app due to the limitations and lack of security features, but Axos works fine for me with a run of the mill checking and savings combo. The only downside is cash deposits and checks take awhile to process.
My Axos experience has gotten worse with time. The app and website are exceptionally slow and often the information displayed is incorrect, especially with managed portfolios. Calling for assistance just brings you to a generic voicemail. I currently would not recommend this institution or app to anyone.
Will find another bank. This app, aside from being slow, has rejected two of my checks for deposit in the past few months. One was from my prior bank to close out my account (a domestic bank), and the other was a Mass State Tax refund...so nothing weird here. The solution from their support department is that I mail the check to them California - does that sound like a tech savvy bank to you? Vanguard's app accepted both checks no problem.
Surprisingly better than the other banking apps I've used. The sad part is that bar is 2km beneath the Earth's crust. Still has that (not so) lovely jank present in every bank app, needs 10-20 coats of paint, and don't expect to be able to do anything quickly. Sad. Please join us in the technology century and hire competent PMs.
So easy to use and find everything. I've been a customer for 5 months and I can say the app is way better than many other banks I have tried. Accurate information and the ability to link other accounts and see the balances all in one place. Thank you Axos!!!
Definitely a rough start when I opened the account specifically due to issues with debit card not activating. However, I stuck with it because I have never been charged a fee with Axos. They've pushed updates which have made the app easier to use. If you don't like paying fees on your money and can wait a standard holding time on your mobile check deposits then its pretty good.
App has always been clunky, but seems to have gotten worse. Def needs to be coded properly and cleaned up. At first biometrics, payment setup, and bill pay worked somewhat right but the last year they haven't worked at all. Biometrics lets u attempt to setup but after turning it on it immediately slides back off. I used bill pay within app, but turned it off after it made me default on a payment as it showed it was setup monthly but wasn't. Same for my mortgage with axos. Great bank, app sux...
very easy to use and love chat feature. load times are a but slow at times, but makes up for it by usability.
There are some bugs that you'll run into every once in a while, but as long as you report them and work with their customer support it'll usually resolve itself. Otherwise, good app.
Overall it's acceptable for me. It's a no-cost full service bank. Unfortunately, load time and alerts are awful. It seems take forever to load an action both on app and on webpage. The Alert service is not instant, always a few hours delayed.
The worst bank and app I have ever dealt with and I was excited. First, their app is a glorified web app. Secondly, they flagged an external account that's *in my name* as suspicious asking me to prove it. I did, sending them the documentation, and they kept saying "we have received it and are processing it." Then they had the gall to tell me that they were "ending our banking relationship" for not having received documentation. Unbelievably incompetent.
System is stuck on ID VERIFICATION. Keeps telling me to try again later. The problem is I've been trying for days and the payment is due today not later. Also chat with EVO is not working.
only had for a few weeks, but so far all is fast, easy to navigate and far more liberal with things like transfer amount limits and faster timing than most bricks and mortar banks.
Lots of nice mobile banking features, but the app initial load time is really poor compared to comparable apps like Chime.
The app has so many great ideas. however it feels clunky and slow. The old wisebayans app was very smooth, maybe bring that one back and add all of these great functionality and offerings.
Can't move money in and out of accounts. App freezes a lot and it keeps saying it has a new updated version but haven't been able to get it.
always works, fast and reliable. Wish transactions could be printed in pdf for Android. But overall great app.
Buggy app update. Bionic entry works sometimes, and after one attempt to use my password (which I never do because the Bionic lock - so of course it was incorrect) I am locked out. 😐😑
switching between apps when viewing routing and account numbers switches the selected page away from details. It's very irritating, trying to input the details online when double checking the numbers. I have an S20+ and the main page is not smooth
Currently it will not allow access due to an alleged update needed. No update available. Restarting hasnt helped. So I am basically locked out due to a nonexisting update requirement. There should be a way to bypass. This app is the worst app. It is unbelievable that it is for an online only bank.
This app was so ckunky and slow. It would take me a solid 45 second to boot open the app (my other banks app did so in about 3 seconds. It was very glitchy. It would say I have a 0 balance when I didn't. Every time you click on something it loads for a few seconds and the app isn't very intuitive. I feel like there could be a full length feature film with Nicholas Cage trying to decode this app. I can't say I had any positive experience with this app. It got the job done, but nothing more.
