The content of the app is, of course, amazing. It's everhthing it needs to be. The app structure was almost broken at first launch, though. I had to constantly close and reopen the app, since the video player would either freeze or prevent me from accessing any other app content. I look forward to using the app more the better it gets (I was excited enough for it; I found and downloaded it before its "official" release!)
It's awesome!!! The issues I am having: -the application resets when the charging status changes, both ways; -though the current time is retained between iterations of play in a single lecture(when the application has reset between those) , after a second or two in which it is resumed, the lecture starts over from the beginning; -Downloaded courses cannot be accessed without an internet connection to first load menu data.
There is a lot of great content available on this app. However, the app itself is frustrating at best. It frequently restarts lectures and forgets where you left off, often problematic with loading content, user interface has some major flaws, the list goes on. ARI, please get rid of the app and make the content available directly through YouTube.
The content of the app is fantastic. All the lectures from ARI in one place, and this app is very easy to use. The videos take forever to load even on WiFi, and the videos will randomly pause for minutes at a time or stop loading all together. I think this will be 5 star worthy in the future, but this first release is buggy.
The app is a massive improvement over the Campus however the app needs more work. My main issues is that navigating the app basically blocks you from viewing content if you are without an internet connection even if the course is downloaded. The app should stay in the same state, and be able to be navigated offline. Change course offerings with updates. Also an option to download an entire course would be appreciated.
Good content but app has many problems. 1. The scroll on videos is too hard to move. Increase the sensitivity and increases the touch size of the circle. 2. Sometimes the video stops when my device is locked and I have to go back on my phone to unpause the video. Bluetooth controls don't work when this happens. 3. Suggestion: Include a scrolling transcript of the videos that you can use for notes!
Must have app and content! I'd like to report an annoying bug. After playing and stopping a lecture, everytime a phone call, or any other media event will happen (such as playing audio notes, videos or music) the Ayn Rand University app will automatically continue playing the last played lecture. I would understand that happened while in the process of listening to a lacture, but the app continues playing the last lecture even if I wasn't using the app. It continues regardless of usage state.
Content is life changing but the app itself has issues. Biggest peeve is that the app does not consistently save my listening progress. It does not open the last item that I listened to, and it often loses my place in the lecture. - no play button from lock screen.
Good content. Worst app ever. If i exit it does not remember where I stopped listening. If I pause and keep it in the bacground it starts playing all by itself if the phone rings, embarrasing me in a quet office at work. Freezes. Cannot download or get it to play anyting today. Update: Uninstalled to keep my sanity.
Great app, gave 4 instead of 5 stars because of background audio playing issue, which I did find a fix for. For others having this issue go into App Info > Battery > Optimise Battery Usage > change the app to being "not optimised". Awkward, but this fixed the bug for me.
This app has been very buggy for me. I have been unable to use the download feature and only fixed it when I read what another reviewer did to fix it( I turned off battery optimization) but now I am unable to download anything. This app works fine whenever I have wifi but is basically unusable when I don't.
Beautifully designed app, with good content. Crashing issues appear to be mostly fixed. Audio only downloads and playback finally available. Most problems with earlier 2 star review are fixed.
This app contains the courses which you will not find anywhere except here. Various themes are valuable for those who have knowledge in Objectivism as an additional material, and those who are beginning their incredibly exciting journey. You can download or hear the courses online, so you will be in touch with the radiant thoughts and ideas, which are not detached from reality and that are "somewhere", but which are in mutual relations with reality and every day of your life.
Amazing. unlimited options. good quality and subtitles are an option. I gave 3 star because the app keeps crashing and downloaded audio don't work.
Excellent. 10\11\19 update: app will not stream, just buffers. It also will not download content either. Content will play on regular website, so definitely app issue.
Excellent content but very bad player. Takes a minute to respond when I want to pause or rewind. Expecting MAJOR improvement or not functional...
I absolutely adore the app & the professor(s). It's lovely 🌹 & very helpful in this modern day crisis.
The content is fantastic, I would give it a 5 if the video player wasn't so buggy.. it's really annoying dealing with that amount of bugs
The app is seriously flawed; bugs abound, which don't allow me to open the app, let alone allow me to view downloaded material. Please, sort this out so I can get back to using this app and continuing my independent studies.
Truly superb. Although I don't agree with all of ARI's fellows, this is an excellent medium for understanding Objectivism—especially layman.
Vedio loading is taking time. Vedio is hanging in between and no longer resumes. Need to fix these issues. Or else this app is a headache to use
This rating is not for the content but how it works. Videos keep freezing. Many times app shows me a video as recently viewed which I haven't even touched. Playing list is lost many times. Sometimes even when I just pause the playlist I have to start the app from the beginning and find my recent lesson.... again this is not about the content which is wonderful.
