Baby Names by Nametrix

I've been looking forever for a baby name app that doesn't have ads so I can use it to generate better names for my Sims, hahahah. This one does the job. Its user interface -- two side-by-side scrolls for the two genders -- is a bit frustrating to get used to, but it makes the scrolling faster, I suppose.

The idea and set-up is very cool, but I think I got up to about seven names before it asked to upgrade to add more. At least be upfront about this. Then again, it doesn't cost much. Also, it would be nice to have a name adding feature. A lot of names that I really like aren't on there. For the names that are on the list though, it gives a nice overview.

There's a feature on this app that's supposed to tell you how to pronounce the names, but it's awful. It's a computerised voice which doesn't pronounce names properly, like a really low-budget Siri sort if thing. It either says the names too fast or just completely wrong altogether. It pronounced Artemis as "art-mis", Ares as "arse" and Aurora as "roar-a" to name a few. The rest of the app is well thought out but a lot of the pronunciations are terrible. Not happy considering I paid to upgrade.

I loved using the Apple version of this app so when I realized it was available on Android I downloaded it and upgraded it just as I had it on my previous Apple sevice. I love this app I just wish the layout was similar to that of the Apple version. The layout makes using the app very unenjoyable. I would love to be able to filter my more than one option by and a custom search field. My rating would be 5 stars I'd the layout didn't annoy me so much.

Terrible layout and not a lot of options for filtering. The selections of regions is pretty good but the majority of the names aren't actually from that region. Overall, good idea, poor app. Don't recommend installing.

I'm so mad...I paid to favorite extra names and they only saved for that session. I had went through ALL of the masculine names and none of them saved. It took me hours. I use name apps in order to help with writing and such so I thought this would save me time from creating a spreadsheet but it wasted my time and money. Also a lot of pronunciations are wrong and many names do not have meanings or origins.

Decent selection of names and I like that you can add your own into your favorites. You do have to pay $1.99 to add more than around 8 or 10 each boy and girl names from their inventory into your favorites. I'd like more features.

I would like to be able to search names using more than one trait. For example, I would like to search for names that are vintage and a bit rare. Also, it would be nice if the popularity data was updated.

Best baby name ap out there. Only downfall is that there are no settings to allow you to look at girl or boy only names. It lists both side by side. It would be cool if it allowed you to choose the gender as some other aps do. However i feel like this ap has the most variety and best filters other than the gender.

You can only add 6 favorites. Also they didn't transfer name meanings to the different spellings. So if you want to know a manning you need to search for the "original" spelling

Wish the data was more recent, and sometimes the favorite button reflects a previous name clicked on. But otherwise, love browsing all the name data!

Not free. I thought I would be able to save names I liked to show my man later but only allowed 4 before you are forced to pay. I'd rather spend my money on things my baby needs. Also most names don't have meanings so you'll have to look them up elsewhere.

I think it would nice if you could narrow names using more than one trait. For instance, names that are Vintage and Very Rare.

Nice enough app. Needs a newer update as it hadn't been updated since 2018. The iPhone version is much nicer design wise with more filtering options

Some of these names... The app works perfectly name, but some of the suggestions are hilarious and others are just cruel or intentionally obnoxious!

Can only use it for a while then it requires a charge. Disappointed, it looked like a good app.

I liked this app, but the popularity statistics are all from 2017...so if you're someone who cares about accurate popularity stats, this isn't for you.

best name app I have used so far!!! I like being able to hear them.

No name meanings and can only access 3 categories unless upgraded.

Love all the names and meanings and love saving the names, to go back and go through keep or not keep
