I guess it's well known at this point, but the app doesn't work. If I'm actively pairing with my headphones, they will show up in the app's available devices list, but as soon as I'm actually connected via bluetooth, the app does not recognize the headphones anymore. In my opinion, you shouldn't market a piece of tech as having a companion app for customization unless the app actually works. It's a shame, because the headphones are good quality.
Works great with my Backbeat Fit, option to update voice in other language. Only take a minute or two to update. Adds an extra hour of listening time, from 8 to 9 hours. Sounds to if added a slight increase in volume. One pair of two i ordered from Groupon, the red charger indicator light stayed red when fully charged. The update corrected the problem so the light turns blue. I know the light didn't work properly by not turning blue when charged, because headset said fully charged, i plaugged back in was still flashing red. I wish it had option to set up account with profile information and push notifications so the app doesn't need to be installed.
Useless app. Does not recognize my device, even when paired. Headset won't charge past 83% and the app has poor instructions on checking battery status. The instructions don't match product functionality either. I thought the app would allow custom settings, but it's just a clunky user guide. Doesnt even have "find my headset" function. What is the point?
Both this app and the plantronics hub no longer function on the Samsung galaxy S8 running Android 8.0.0 since the December 2018 Security Update. If either app is installed the headphones will keep dropping/reconnecting on the Bluetooth stack, on average every 10 to 15 seconds. These apps badly need an update to resolve this bug. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Clearing down the app cache. Unpairing the headphones and finally factory resetting my phone. Nothing worked.
App is doing what it suppose to which is changing language and firmware updates. there is also connection switcher but this can be done without app either. I had an issue with connecting app with my headset because it was paired with my old set I lost. I had to uninstall the app, restart my phone and install again to make it working.
Not working. Even tried the repairing methode. It searches, finds, pairs, and says it is done, but then... "No device connected". :( YES, IT IS. I can even play music through it. But this companion app is still not working! I give up, and it is a 2 years old app.
This app is for the old BackBeat FIT. I don't believe this is for the new 2100 or 3100. Second, it's 2 stars because when you plug it in it didn't update it. It bricked my device... But I contacted support and the solution worked. when you reopen the app and hold down power button it actually updated the firmware
Just received my BackBeat FIT 3100 headphones, and paired them via BlueTooth with my Pixel 2 running Android 9. When using the pairing guide, the app is able to pair the headphones. Unfortunately, the Connection Switcher does not detect the headphones and gets stuck at "BackBeat FIT is not connected to this device".
π©π©π©π©π©π© This app will connect with my headset, say it's paired then when I attempt to go into settings its says its unpaired.. Total waste of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Trash.. The fit of the Backbeat Fit 3100 is good but the functionality of the app need more work. (Samsung Galaxy Note 8)
Backbeat fit 505, doesn't show in the companion app. You can pair it with the app-wizard, but after connecting the headset, it doesn't show in the app anymore. Headset wotks fine, but no app from plantronics lets you configure or update.
Having the same issues that others reported. Although I'm listening to Pandora just fine on my new headphones, the app doesn't acknowledge that they are paired with my Samsung Galaxy S7. I've tried the pairing function and it won't work with my 3100s.
Like a majority of the people have said this app does not show my headset connected. I will be on my headset playing music from my phone and it still says my headset is not connected. This app is worthless if you cannot connect.
Using with BackBeat FIT 3100: thought it was just me but I'm seeing others are experiencing the same issues. Connection switcher doesnt recognize that my headphones are connected, even though they are. Headphones overall are dope but the App is trash!
This app is just to help connect the PLT headphones.. but no other functionality there. If you are facing issues connecting you should try practicing the on/off button 6 seconds while turning on.
this app is worthless! pairs with everything no problem. But you don't need the app for that. And I downloaded app watched video says you ca customize left side. I can't even get my app to add my devices. And forget any firmware updates. Disappointed with Plantronics!
doesnt recognose device despite being paired with phone. there is another plantronics app called backbeat. poor one plantronics having two apps one that doesnt work, one that does.
HELP! I have a Vivo V9 phone and it won't connect to the app or the headset. Not sure if it's not compatible or what. But I tried everything. It just doesn't work π
This app doesn't work. My phone pairs with the earphones just fine. The app just says it is not connected to the device evem after the app says "Successful Pairing". What a joke. moto x4
Useless app. Does nothing simply downloading the manual's pdf won't do. Won't recognize Fit 2100 series is connected. Offers nothing on status. Useless. Do not waste your time.
I have one phone where this app wont detect my headphones - despite pairing with phone and playing music OK. And another phone where the app detects and pairs the headphones, but then proceeds to tell me that the hesdphones are not connected.
This app work great before last firmware. I use galaxy note 9 and spotify. Sometimes the volume suddenly jumps up when hearing music eventhough volume indicator still same.
If updating firmware fails and bricks your Backbeat fit try restarting the app. I had to restart my phone and then restart the app and it found and updated the firmware on my backbeat. Took forever for me to figure this out.
Successfully connects to headset, then shows NO devices connected in the list. Bluetooth shows device is connected. What is the point of this app? I want to update firmware on my Backbeat Fit 305
Doesn't recognise connection to my Pixel 2XL (Android 9 Pie). Bluetooth connects fine & works well, but app says 'Backbeat Fit not connected to my device'. Brand new BB Fit 2100 headset.
Headphones don't show up even though it successfully went though the connecting process and I can play music through headphones... BackBeat fit 2100 headphones, Samsung S7 phone.
pairs but then says it is not connected. bug ridden software and it's a tiny app. not that hard to get right!!
Downloaded the app and it didn't sync up with the device. The bluetooth showed the device was linked to the phone but the app didn't recognize the device.
Tested on Sony z3(PHONE), Asus Zenpad 8s(Tablet) and Samsung SM-T350(Tablet) - bbfit was not discovered on any of them. Plantronics - your awesome bbfit product is useless if we are not able to see it on our devices!(I only was able to connect it on Moto Z play phone)
It seems to do what the BT interface on the phone already does. I was hoping the firmware update would fix my issue with the device's volume control no longer controlling the phone's volume, forcing me to manage the volume levels on both devices. Developer Options in Nougat include an option to "disable absolute volume" which has no discernible effect on this device. After some playing around, I discovered that absolute volume behaves properly with the phone volume, but not music.
