I think people are giving negative reviews because they are afraid Backcountry is gonna put their favorite local outdoors shop out of business. They have to realize that not everyone who climbs/snowboards/whatever you do lives close to or even within several hours of a shop. The app isn't perfect but it's everything I need it to be. I was tired of trying to navigate the website on my phone. Didn't have the same issues as any of the 1 star reviews.
Love browsing on the app, however there is a returns logistics bug, which caused ne a headache. I will make my returns on the website in the future, but hopefully it gets fixed. When you submit a return through the app, the Return Request isn't generated on the Backcountry database, so it doesn't provide a confirmation or a way to track the return. The app only provides a UPS label. I had to contact customer service to get my returns submitted long after they received my returned packages.
The app is not very user friendly and everything is ovwrpriced. Combine that with all of the law suits where you're suing small businesses for using the term "backcountry"..? Talk about hitting rock bottom. You've lost my business.
App wouldn't even open. Probably just another money grab from "Backcountry". Seems like they need it as they're suing anything and everything that has the "b" word in it. Started as a great company. Now it is just shameful.
Uninstalled. Too much gear that had backcountry in the name. I didn't want to accidently walk into a lawsuit for ordering gear describing a location and purpose that is actually just a trademarked name.
Not a native app, it's just a reframing of the website. Given that, there's no reason to install it. Pretty poor effort for 2020.
only opens after installing. when using the icon to open the app it does not work.
Can't sign in. Keeps saying invalid password or email, but I confirmed it's corret on my computer.
Had $250 of stuff in cart and couldn't check out, expiration date for Credit card turnicated and/or covered up by PayPal option. Samsung 7g. Experience stressful as sale quantities = 1
Easy to navigate, I'd pick this over the website version any day.
Clunky. It doesn't seem any better than a browser.
excellence service and price love it will definitely be using backcountry again and again
For some reason it won't let me log in via facebook. I tried and i tried and i tried. And i tried. Then tried again.
I used to love backcountry but then they started suing small companies who used the word "backcountry". Will never support them again and you shouldn't either. Don't screw over small business.
Easy to use, good navigation.
You don't own the BackCountry. For anyone one unaware this company sued a startup business over thier use of the word BackCountry in thier name. This company does not own the BackCountry and does not have my support.
the mobile app is actually better than the website. good job guys!
Service is awful, so is the company. Private equity group that is suing everyone in sight over the word "backcountry". Nice.
Great on the go access to Backcountry!
Waste of a company... I have no time ever again to support something like this. I'm done.. app sucks too.
Horrible customer service. No one answers me regarding my order. No one answers the chat or phone call. Avoid this store.
Too many backcountry logos. I wonder if they're infringing on other small shops?
Confirmed, it's just a reframing of the website
Unfortunately due to oppressive business tactics towards smaller Backcountry businesses by this company I will no longer be buying from them.
This company is horrible they have terrible products and even worse customer service do not trust them
Stay away from doing business with this horrible company. They are waging war against smaller competitors by the way of lawsuits. This company is the poster child for the rampant corporate greed that is destroying small business in this country.
Not really an app.
Not what I was hoping.
Disappointed
The navigation bar on the left where you can click on different categories is broken for me. It just refreshes the main page you were already on. (It doesnt route to what I clicked on in the navbar) Edit: after playing around more, I found that filtering is broken, searching for something is broken, theres a lot of bugs that need fixing.
