Backdrop Daydream

Doesn't support Google Photos!!! Photos are great memories to watch in a big TV. Add Google photos for Android TV or some other way to connect and view Google Photos.

Compared to my old chromecast device, Ambient mode doesn't support Google Photos as day dream. Disappointed as this App is moving in opposite direction.

Is not the same than my Chromecast device :( Please, add the possibility of use my photos in the Screensaver/Backdrop, like on my Chromecast.

I just don't get why it has none of the options of the Chromecast counterpart.

[update]: giving one more star since they added weather. but even though i set it to a photo album from the home app, it still doesn't take effect on backdrop 1.3.4 (with the 33 cast receiver). haven't been using it again long enough to still if it still has the lag/sleep issues. could really use an update from the play store (not sure if newer devices than mine are getting something better as part of the system image) [update update]: didn't leave it enabled long enough to find out if it still gorked sleep. keeps the device running hot compared to other daydreams.

There is no option to view my own photos as with the Chromecast device. I wonder why.

Prefer to set my own images, not these weak art ponce fails.

Why on earth is this inferior to the basic chromecast hardware?

After using backdrop on Chromecast for so long, Backdrop Daydream on Android TV just seems incomplete. The custom sources, weather - I am used to seeing on the TV are missing. If anything, I was expecting Android TV to be a super-set of Chromecast features. Disappointed! I guess there'll have to be a seemingly redundant Chromecast on one of the HDMI ports.

Daydream feature on Nvidia Shield TV has two options: boring and more boring. Go find "Aerial Dream" (here on Google Play Store). It's the best option for Daydream Android TV at present. Good luck to all of us finding better Daydream options.

It's not working on Philips 4k UHD Razor Slim LED TV Android. Installed the app on TV but cant find Daydream option in settings...

Junk compared to the Chromecast backdrop. No weather, no customizability at all. Can't even use your own photos.

Missing too many features compared to a "normal" Chromecast. Can't even set a Google Photos album as a backdrop. Sad, Google. Really sad.

I mean, it works, but not being able to add your own photos really makes this not useful for us.

Works except for having the ability to use photos from google photos. If this functionality is there on chromecast, why it is not available in this app? It does not make any sense.

Would be great if the same features as the Chromecast Backdrop existed!

Why are you punishing us for buying the more expensive option? Bring all the features from the Chromecast!

Google Photos is not an option on Android TV. While it works on a chromecast, there is no option on the Nexus Player to set a specific album as a backdrop. This feature is available on a chromecast but not on Android TV? Same account is used on both.
