I've been using this app for years and loved it! Today it kept freezing so I uninstalled then reinstalled it. Unlike other times, this time it asked for my user name and password on the reinstall which I don't remember after so much time. So I've lost my game history. Worse yet, it no longer has features I'd come to enjoy. Namely, the choice of the level of difficulty and more recently the various CPU options with varied risk levels. The new upgrades have not improved the app.
Good gameplay. So far it's been mostly fair. The computer usually gets what it needs to get out or block me out could be the randomness of random as it's often enough to notice but not enough to make me uninstall. Overall it's becoming my favorite Backgammon game. One thing I suggest is the ability to change board, dice, & tile colors/styles/theme FOR FREE. 5*+
Unfortunately this game is extremely frustrating! The computer player gets way too many big doubles in comparison to the player, and the computer has about a 95% success rate at sending a single disc back to the start. The human player, when you finally DO get a double its a small one, or you can't use it. The odds of a good roll are consistently in favour of the computer player. Whatever is in charge of ensuring equal and fair rolls IS NOT WORKING!!!
Love it but dice are loaded on hard version. the computer gets the idea dice every time, especially when you're winning. Have played a number of ganes where I'm in a winning positing only to be hit with the perfect rolls against me. Example, when the computer doubles, it almost always gets a double immediately. When you're waiting to get your chip back on the board, you rarely get the dice roll you need until the computer is safe. It's not fair dice as it advertises.
It's the equivalent of old school Microsoft internet backgammon, but without the chat function. Good for you vs computer or you vs rando. Terrible for trying to play against your friends, just doesn't connect well at all. Lastly, dice are great and properly randomised, but computer player sometimes makes really irrational stupid moves on hardest difficulty, and is terrible at judging when to accept/offer doubling cube - seems to base decisions on pips only. Too easy to beat computer player.
No matter the difficulty, the bot gets as many doubles as it needs to win. No questions asked. Usually gets 3x the amount of doubles I get and they're almost always at the very end to ensure the bot wins, even on easy. Easily tried 10+ games and this happened every single time. Literally impossible to win when the bot gets double after double after double after double, while I'm getting 1&2 dice combos every game.
compare with the others similar apps; this app is one of the best. I'm sure the dice is not really neutral even if the designer saying that it is. It's can be. I'm playing in real world too and the real dice in real world doesn't act like these virtual dices. This is negative point not only for this app. They all have this problem; but as I said; compare with other apps this is one of the best.
Just before you start playing a game the way you play, it turns around, so you're playing backwards! Terrible uninstall!!!!!! I wouldn't give your app another chance unless you can figure out a way to change the way you play. I don't play backwards!!!!
Fun game. Dice totally loaded towards the bot. If I have 5 home points covered, knock bot off, bot rolls an open point in 1 or 2 rolls. I get knocked off, bot has 2 covered points and and 1 point with single marker, I roll 2-3-4 times with no play and then the open point most advantageous to the bot. If I can knock the bot off on a 2,5 or 6 roll, I roll a 3,4. Not needs 11, gets it 9/10 times.... I have seen the stats on even dice results by numeral, doesn't speak to situational advantage.
Kinda boring. Starts and switches your color, then says the color you had goes first. If you land 3 places away, opponent gets a 3. Same with any number. I've went thru 10 games and haven't started yet. Then they start the multiple doubles in order foe opponent to win. Didn't think this onw would be this rigged.
I would rate this much higher IF you guys can remedy why the game freezes so often (and whenever it freezes the game is counted as a loss for myself). It's getting worse every day...please fix. Otherwise imo, this is one of the best online backgammon games around!
This setup is so confusing. It's fine when I play as White, but when I play as Black, the board is completely backwards from the way I'm used to having it, and I never know which direction I'm supposed to move. And half the time when I move the pips they don't go where I want them to go. It should only let you move by one number at a time, because it's so confusing like this.
The game was good BUT over the last week or so it has started to glitch when rolling dice and saying invalid roll and rolling the dice again. The rolls were not invalid. I have been playing this game on this app for 10 months or so and its just started happening. Please fix it.
I played this game for maybe 6 months. It is good to gain experience. But I got frustrated. Whenever it crashes you lose the game. It started crashing far too often, several times per evening.
Great game, unsure about your algorithm though. The computer gets far more doubles 5, double 6 and your playing catch up. And that's in the easy setting... No fair dice when playing solo which has been mentioned previously
The game doesn't follow the rules of backgammon. When presented with a roll in which one of the die is blocked unless they are forced to move, the game does not force the move and allows the player to just move the die of their choice.
Many times I'm winning and it rolls three doubles in a row. I get once in awhile this could possibly happen.... But c'mon, not that frequently. If the rolls were actually random like real dice rolling, it would be more fun and actually thought provoking.
Most rigged game I have ever played. CHEATERS!!! Its funny how when I have a piece captured it takes like 5 rolls to get the right number with 3 open spots and the computer rolls the right number first time with only 1 spot available
This is s beautiful game, BUT the ads are support annoying. Please, add a paid option to remove ads. Otherwise, it's not going to stay on my device. Removing ads would provide more space for the board, too.
Took 1 day to realise this app was a waste of time if you want to learn to play. The computer player has dice loaded in its favour without exception. You dont play the game, the game plays you. I will delete it and look for something that I can enjoy and learn from...dont waste your time with this.
Another backgammon game with a rigged dice. This one is worst as it's so artifical: seems like they tried to make people happy as the rigged dice works for both players, double after double, impossible escapes, exact dice when necessary etc. Still looking for a game with a true random dice, but apperantly it only exist in real world.
Overall layout is good. However computer or opponents always throws doubles when you roll a double it's an invalid roll and you have to roll again. Game freezes during plays which also counts against you.
First game with fair dice! You can play computer, a person across from you in the room on the same device, (like a portable board!) And live people. Yes, the doubles sometimes pop up unfairly, and that's the only reason I gave 4. (4.5 is not available)
An amazing computer AI that can perform astonishing comebacks by rolling dice that defy mathematical odds with such skill it's hard to believe. Actually, it's beyond belief to anyone with more than a one-digit IQ. I've been playing backgammon for 50 years and I've never seen such miraculous rolling of the dice. I've yet to find a computer backgammon game that reflects realistic dice rolls.
When playing offline, they roll way too many doubles. The further behind it is the more doubles it gets, Rummy Game is great though, download it!
...no scam coins or trophies...good graphics...over time fair dice fails...rando.izers are what sets difficulty levels, l suppose. The harder the level, and over time the dice cheat
The computer cheats. I have read their stats and I have played the game, and the computer cheats. Not as much as most other android backgammon games, however a built in computer opponent who cheats makes the game worthless as a single player.
I don't understand the complaints about the dice. Sure, sometimes the CPU has ludicrous luck, but then again sometimes I have the same ludicrous luck. Over time I'd say it evens out. You just have to keep playing 😁
It's okay. Ads are super loud and long, and the close buttons for them are small and unresponsive. Time limit for moves is way too short (only 40 seconds). Dice either roll spectacularly well or absolutely awful, no in between. Says you can adjust difficulty in settings but you can't. I like that you don't have to bet & it's not a flashy casino-style game and the aesthetics of the board and pieces are quite nice, but that's about all I like. Not enough to keep the app.
