Even on the hardest computer settings, the AI makes terrible cube and bear-off decisions, and sometimes in opening or mid-game. Tutor AI not up to date. Tragic that on-line play is gone. Development has abandoned ship. I'll stick with the advanced AI on my computer. Uninstalling.
This app is provide the most realistic game. Several players say the dice rolls are rigged, I highly doubt they are. Backgammon has an element of luck due to unpredictability of dice rolls. You think you're in can't lose situation, but your opponent makes a roll that allows them to win. It frustrating but what makes the game interesting. My only disappointment, apparently this app will be discontinued in the near future.
Computer rolls too many convenient doubles , etc. if these were games between opponents there would be an enquiry. uninstalled it as a result. don't give me any rubbish about randomly selected numbers either.
I tried several backgammon apps but would get frustrated by the way they gave dice roll advantages. basically allowing players to buy the wins. This game is not like that and I really enjoy playing.Finally I have found a fair game and I love it
Really like this game, very challenging, although I am not a mega strong player. Tutor function handy and I like the ELO rating feature to get an idea of how strong your skills are. Well be buying this one, it's a keeper.
A really good game spoilt by the overwhelming bias in favour if the computer. I am at a loss as to why the developer would want to program the game this way.
I love how these A hole designers swear these games are on the up and up, yet you sit there and watch irregularities after irregularities like up. Download this game only if you like losing. But dont worry. It's all on the up and up...
The stats around doubles very misleading, and timing of them. Takes out the enjoyment in playing this app. This app does not work in player's favor.
Unfair. The comp always get the throw it needs to step on you. That's not real life. I've played hundred of real dice throwing games and chances are much less to always get to step on someone
Do Not download. It has taken all the fun out off playing backgammon. You can predict the numbers that it will roll for its own game. Do Not Waste Your Time.
How about making actual random roles when playing against the computer instead of letter the dice land on favourable moves for it 95% of the time... Pretty stupid when chance goes out the window.
They said it was coming, but why remove online matches!? I'll host a damn server if it helps, it's hardly expensive. So frustrating.
I love playing with the online version and why did you take it away? So that's why I gave it a 3 stars. If it was the online version you know that I would give it 5 stars because you get to interact with people while playing.
I really like this version but not the update. I updated my iPad version and it is too limited as to what I can do.

Don't bother cos the server will keep you online as long as it can by loading your or your opponents dice throws, but if you enjoy being frustrated by biased and loaded dice then go for it else keep away because the algorithm is designed to keep you in the game as long as it can by giving your opponent against-the-odds dice rolls. It could work in your favour too but it then frustrates your opponent. Backgammon is fun when odds are even and edgevis acquired by skillful planning but biasing throws in favour of prolonging the game spoils it. Put pressure on them to rectify loaded throws.
