✓ Your pieces are white and your opponent's pieces are black. There are 24 places on the board and two places to deposit the pieces. The 24 places are represented as triangles and called points. So the 1-point is the first place where pieces can stay.
✓ The points from 1 to 6 are called the opponents’ home and the points from 19 to 24 are your home on the board. The opponent needs to bring all his pieces in the home region in order to take them out and so do you.
✓ You can move around the board in one direction. You move from the bottom-right corner to the bottom-left corner then to the top-left corner and finally to the top-right corner on a path that resembles a horseshoe. The points from 1 to 24 follow this path in the same direction. Your opponent moves in the opposite direction following this path.
✓ The game starts with a couple of dice rolls that decide which player should begin first. The opponent rolls first, then you. The one with the biggest pips’ count on the dice starts first. A pip is a dot on the face of a dice which counts as a point of movement or placement.
✓ When your turn comes you start by rolling the dice and continue by making the moves.
✓ If you roll a double your pips count will be twice the pips’ sum of the dice.
✓ After you roll the dice some top pieces on your triangles, will be highlighted. You can start your move with any of those highlighted pieces. To move the pieces, you select the piece by tapping on the triangle on which it lies. Then, at that point the triangle turns blue and the places to which you can move next turn green. Tap on any of those green triangles to initiate the move. When the move ends and if there are moves left on the dice new pieces will be highlighted.
✓ If one of your dice is one you can move one of your pieces only one position. If the piece lies on 2-point you can move it on 3-point for example. If you roll a double, you can make four moves with the same value of the dice from that roll.
✓ You can move your pieces to columns occupied by your pieces, to empty places or places in which your opponent has one piece.
✓ If you move your piece over the opponent's single piece you can capture it.

This backgammon game let's you pick your color. + It has difficult settings so you can play a pro. Like Omar would allow. My only down side is you can't rool the dice on your side they are always on the left and with a bad shoulder it would be easier for me. That's a personal problem. I have downloaded many other versions, truly this one is the best. I recommen for any Advent player.
I've played a different badgammon ap for a long time but this one is more difficult. I played 4 games and only won the last one I played. It is nice to be challenged again.
It's rigged. No way what a regular backgammon game have the roles that I saw. And also you don't have the opportunity to confirm your move. Or undo your move before you end your turn. Not good.
The graphics are sparce, simple and fairly slow. There is no undo button. There is no doubling cube. And the computer makes some fairly obvious stupid moves. By my description you would think that I don't like this game, but I do. This is the first 'dice' game that I have played that feels authentic. I don't know the science behind it, or the algorithms involved, but the role of the dice - mine and the computers - seems realistic to me. No heavy doses of doubles, no perfect rolls every time. Fun
Overall very smooth and enjoyable. The only problem is the opening rolls to determine the starter do not follow standard backgammon rules. The game rolls two dice/player vice one, ties go to the computer instead of being re-rolled, doubles count higher than non-doubles even if their total is lower, and the first player has to re-roll to determine their first piece moves instead of rolling the total of the two starting rolls by the computer and player. Otherwise I would've given it 5 stars.
Not for me. There is no option to change the direction that the pieces move on the board, or turn off the help features. As an experienced backgammon player, I don't need to have the board light up to show me the legal moves. Also it is irritating to have ads start up in the middle of a game. Will uninstall.
The game is OK. A lot of credits to the architect/s, but need to be improve it. An interesting game, Computer vs Player, both should block the opponent of any exit, instead of building towers of tokens without any interesting purposes, that is really BORING. Another good point, Once one of players is completely blocked to enter back to the starting point, there is not purpose to roll the dice until it will open an opportunity. Love this 5000 years old Mesopotamia game. Kudos.
Plays quick, no ads, no mistakes are allowed. I like the stats..
More of a demo than a complete app. The overall UI is extremely counterintuitive. There are no multiple round matches, and no doubling cube.
Not bad for free but it's slow and a tiny bit frustrating. Can't see if there's a way to make it smarter. There's a control to increase its speed but it doesn't seem to speed up it's responsiveness.
The dices truly seem to be random compared to AI. The one minus is there is no UNDO button. The only slight con is during auto bear off it is very slow to respond. Otherwise it's good.
The game itself is great, I can't find a way to turn the music off! And there seems to be no " undo" option
Very fair setup. Would like to be able to change the colors. Seemed a little slow to respond to moves. Overall really liked playing this version.
It's a good way to kill time. It tends to optimize the dice rolls for itself, giving many advantages like multiple double rolls when convenient. Overall I like it.
Please give the player the option to turn off the annoying highlights showing possible moves after a roll. Experienced players don't need or want the help.
Be nice to have a reverse option in case you tap the wrong piece. Also first game I played it moved my piece twice robbing me of the opportunity to cover with a second piece. it then rolls perfectly to hit me and with 3 spots open on its side I take 6 rolls to enter while it brings up its back pieces.
Really easy to learn. Not convinced as to how random the dice rolls are. Seems everytime i leave a puece vulnerable then tge exact number is rolled to put me on the bar. Good game and enjoyable.
Seems to play fair so far. An undo option would be a great idea. Doubling cube would be nice. Got tired of playing other games where dice rolls be and predictable.
Good game. Reasonable die rolls. The most serious challenge with the app isif your screensaver comes on while you are considering moves, you will get a 5 second advertisement when display opens...
Needs refinement. A bit slow between moves, no Undo function, cant change board colors and there is only one skill level which is not strong.
I love this app.its a lot of fun down load it and you will see you will have a blast" one of the best back-gammon game i have ever played. Its fair and not rigged like ever roll on some of the other apps .they get all doubles and you hardly get any. The game is very nice. I would rate it 5 or 6 if it had an undo or a back - button for those of us that make mistakes.
Finally found a backgammon that doesn't play fast and loose with probability, e.g., cheat. And it's like playing a person! Downside: play one game - no multigame matches; no difficulty setting; no doubling cube; no Crawford rule. But it dosn't cheat!
I'm a beginner and would have liked a game with levels that gave me some encouragement t by letting me win a few times. I have just won my first game, so perhaps I have to learn the hard way.
Backgammon has always been one of my favorite games to play! I enjoy this version because it is just a basic take on the game. The grafics are large and easy to see. Thank you!
Lord of the Board, Backgammon, that game is RIGGED, they want you to lose to purchased more coins, I have never seen a opponent keep on roll the dice on there favor, they know I'm a big money spender so they make sure that I keep on losing. I had enough, so I finely closed the appt.
computer rolls doubles a lot for itself, rolls numbers that always land on my single men outstanding, obviously rolling the numbers for itself not random. I like backgammon, can you change 'algerithm' so it's fun again?
worst game ever! first roll I leave one open to test. of course it is sent back to home. The next 6 rolls I get double sixes so I can not move. finally I get a one then am sent home immediately!
the music should be deleted so the sound of throwing dice could be heard loud and clear. when people playing backgammon there is no need for the music or any melody.
It's a decent backgammon game. There's just a few issues I wish they would fix - opening dice roll is wrong; no undo if I tap the wrong thing; if you go away from the game and come back, it starts a new game (there's a pause button, but still). Still, a better engine than the others apps I tried.
