Background defocus

Rubbish, you can't even have a heart beat if you want to use the app as any tiny movement will cause it not to work. It's not intelligent, the blur seeps into the subject and there is no way to rectify it with an after effect option where you could drag the blur where needed. Disappointing lazy app.

You can't take close up photo with this app, an error occurred if you tried "Can not blur the background", you always need to maintain the specific distance from the object. This app blurred the background of left side only, right side and an object which you have kept focus on, remains the normal. Very disappointing application from the reputed Sony Mobile Communications brand who has its identity in market for clarity only !!!

Thank You Sony, one of the major reasons, i wanted to change my xperia Z1 was that it was not having bokeh mode, but you did a fascinating job via a software app. This app lets you to blur the background and makes your single camera similar to that of iphones' dual snappers.

I am a 20 Xperia device by family and friends Xperia user for 9 years. Please can you improve this app by adding zoom, exposure, front camera selection and more MP count? Please let Xperia users enjoy more of it. I personally use now an XA2 ultra dual and the options above are a must. Thank you very much for understanding!

The state of this app is a reflection of SONYs ancient camera processing, algorithms and optics, seriously in need of an update and overhall (the new android 9 camera UI itself is nice, but the processing and low light needs work).. Sony, please show your Mobile phone supporters some love..

This app has a wonderful photo background defocusing feature. I like it because I dont need to go anymore to cybers for 4x4 background blured pics for the fufilement of some important or documental formalities, this app helps me to do it all on my own. Its woderful.

The app is working on my Xperia phone and I suggest that there should be also an option for this be used also on front facing camera which is really great. Hope you'll have tons of other awesome camera effects in the future.

Great app . Doesnt work for all scenarios and can be a little harsh on the edges sometimes, most of the time it's very impressive!

Very good when it works - with adjustable de-focus - but majority of tries it reports that "background can't be blurred". So only 2 *

Terrible and Creepy, I don't know how Sony is one of the leading manufacturer in the cameras field and moreover they are manufacturing camera lens for other phones (e.g. one plus), yet they are not enhancing their camera experience. Sony are using the same processor that all the flagships (Snapdragon 835 for the XZ1) are using which is the same processor the Pixel 2 is using, but unfortunately we as users are not getting the best of it from our Sony devices

I am very surprise the phone came with such bad quality camera, apps and album management. This app is so kindergarten thing compared to other phone. My first sony phone will be the last one.

This not working not very well and have lost of work to do it's not capturing photos 2 shots at a time consuming more to take a shot and could not getting blurring image.

please upgrade/improve this app. the blur effect is not clean at all. and please increase sa range of taking photos to have a more good looking photos

This app is amazing imagine that Apple today announced a new iPhone that can alter the aperture after the photo has been taken hahaha mugging people off again. Sony needs to let this app do full 19mp or at least 12mp! Otherwise top app.

awesome, but you should use tripod for best result. i just imagine if this app have grid menu, light and like the others menu as like as default smartphone sony camera app. thanks for the dev for this great app.

Fantastic effect, but it no longer appears in my Camera app. Cannot find any way to add it back in.

Sony really lags behind when it comes to computational photography. They're first with this software background blur but is worst when it comes to execution

Don't work. After taking a photo I always get the message "can't blur the photo". Using a sony phone too. Don't waste your work this app.

Great phone, pity about all the unwanted apps that can't be uninstalled and take up storage and use downloads. So much for being a "smartphone"

Have XZ PREMIUM already and still have problems shooting with this app. Only very close,very stable shots will blur!! But with poor isolation after all Love u SONY -_- HOPE U REINNOVATE IT

Please update the software and make the app better. It's sad because the xperia lineup has the best cameras in the market and the software is the worst. Please add a good bokeh function to your flagships like Samsung did on S8+

Need major improvement. Please add potrait mode on front camera. Even older version of Gcam are better on bokeh effect than this. Come on Sony, your loyal user are waiting. Great hardware but weak on software are useless.

Worst app .its not working properly on my xperia x .only 8mp provided out of 23 mp camera.its not working everytime,everytime show you couldnt blur . sony plz update xperia cam app

Pls. Copy the technology or the Idea on how they do it perfectly on Google pixel phones. Even they only have 1 camera, they nailed it! Pls. Don't Break my Reputation on sony phones, Or I will Change brands. BTW I'm using Xperia XZ

It is not supporting front cam on my XZP. Whenever iam chooaing thia mode tge camera is switchingvto rear cam. With tge limitation of 45cm for tge object to focus, it is useless IMO with rear cam shotz.
