Backup Contacts

I backed up numerous .CSV files, uploaded them to Google drive, and had a copy on my internal storage that I transfered over the the PC. Wiped my phone and now nothing will read these .CSV files. I have over 350 contacts I now have to sort through by viewing the raw data on the file. This will take hours and that's if it works!

While it is not a perfect app, this is one of the few apps that backs up contacts to a text file you can keep locally and requires only a minimum number of permissions to operate. Other apps are bloated and ask for way too much, plus they don't want you to back up locally. This one is great and I have used it for many years without issue.

You have to keep the file format as .vcf which is very popular Backup file format nowadays & not .csv(Comma Separated Value) which is a very old & outdated format.I couldn't open the backup file from Office Pro App installed on my phone. Too much Useless.

I used this app once when I was still in ginger bread and i had no clue how to sync my contacts. This app worked great for when I needed it.

where are Nickname, Notes, and any other additional fields on the contacts file - using Android latest version - many other fields available, wonderful system! so a good backup should back up absolutely everything excluding of course things like ring tone or photo even though they could be also copied but that would be more than expected. of course, the no-restore availability is also an issue. I notice that the latest version is from March 3, 2013 - is this company still there? this is a problem with many apps. I like the simplicity - there is no requirement for anything more complicated as long as it works and is updated for new versions of Android. i will gladly pay for this if it does what I need.

I lost my contacts 2 times and didn't want to do this again. this app has been very useful to back up my contacts to .csv file. thanks to the developers

Really useful app. There's nothing worse than losing your contacts, it's nice to know they're backed up safely.

This app baked up 1/3 on my contacts without names.

There are other apps that backup... & restore. A backup isn't a backup without the restore part. The backup worked nicely, I'll give them that. It's just worthless now that I wiped my phone. That's what I get for not reading thoroughly and following a suggestion from a blog.

I needed to not just back up name, address, and phone number to Outlook 2010, but also Group affiliation. Apparently this is a difficult mapping problem and is not adequately satisfied here.

CSV file does not have individual values under the various columns, instead all the information is in one cell on the spreadsheet. This means you cannot import with Google contacts like the app says, because Google contacts can't read the file in this format.

Claims to backup all contact data on your phone; does not grab Facebook contacts (the main reason I'm trying to backup contacts). Aside from that, it was all very quick and easy. Had a CSV saved to my PC in less than 10 seconds after installing the App.

The first app I found (I tried at least 6 others) that will do a csv backup from Android and restore to Windows People app. Did a backup to csv file, emailed it to myself (a program option), restored it on my pc. Easy, accurate, no hassle. It works.

Did exactly what I wanted, to create a back up in case of emergencies and email it to myself in readable format without devouring phone space

Why pretend it's free and then force a sale to use the features the you need.!

Great App!!! Allows you to export into CSV file all of your phone's contacts, then upload it to Dropbox or simply email it. On demand you can keep allof your contacts secure. Sometimes it is easier to manually export and then import contacts than counting on a fishy app

Almost useless unless it can restore.

I dont trust any one source to backup my contacts. This is my happy second copy.

The backup worked nicely. But also group affiliation. It was all very quick and easy.

Really looking for such simple and useful contact backup app. Love it.

It did an excellent job copying all the contacts on my phone so that I could import them onto my new work phone.

So it makes a "Contacts" folder on the SD card. Now what?? Not satisfactory to give us a tip to search Google for an import (restore) solution.

Convert the backup in excel format, its better to have it than not!
