Backup message & call to Email

Worked for me exactly as advertised. Backed up and restored my calllog, sms and mms. There are a few issues with this though. First, it's dog slow if you have a lot of items to restore. Being connected to wifi doesn't help one bit. Second, if the connection is interrupted, it doesn't reconnect or indicate that it stopped but it does resume where it left off at. Which leads to the next issue, if you leave the application, you lose the visual status of it running however it runs in the background. Impro

I like being able to back up my conversions to my Gmail account and not worry about when I switch phones, or auto removal of old texts, losing past chats. Two things that make this a 4 instead of a 5: 1. It doesn't maintain timestamps of actual sms / mms that are backed up, timestamps are replaced with date/time of backup; 2. Auto backup doesn't work. I have to manually backup every day or two. Overall though, nice app to have.

Using this on my Nexus 5. Does what I need it to do. Paid the $2.49 donation just cause it's simple and works. No ads and garbage. That by itself deserves the fee. UPDATE: Defaulted phone and had to restore all. Pics received via MMS were not placed into text threads, but into Backup album in Photos. Lame.

Did a backup, reset my phone, and restore...All messages show up in the default messaging app but doesn't update in Hangouts. Donated for effort and development. It takes way to long to back up the multiple thousand of calls sms mms from the phone to the email. And it does not work as simply as it should, you have to learn how to set up Imap. This should just as simply as it says it will do just copy all content as it is written in real time from the phone to the email adress on file, it does not simply do that

I do realize this application lacks some vital features like choosing which email, more authentication, and other default apps for Android like handouts and what not. A lot of people mentioned this however the app never claimed to do any of this. It does EXACTLY what it claims to do and does it very well.

Good app. Saves my call and messages to gmail. Gmail offer better and convenient search. Saves to recover some contacts when the phone is broken. It shouldn't ask for in-app purchases. Bad on this part, but nothing has happened to me yet. I use the NoRoot firewall to make sure it only connects when using Wifi

Holy cats, I've been pulling my hair out trying to update some spreadsheets with contact numbers and information, this works great. I can now search out the messages I want, copy and paste the info into my spreadsheet. I am totally happy!

The app takes forever to backup messages. OK. I can leave withf that. But at some point a cryptic 'I error' status label appears. But there is no error handling and no usable way to cancel an operation. Trying to cancel simply disables the cancel button and the spinner keeps spinning. To make matters worse somehow the app doesn't show up in the manager so you can't force stop it. It just hangs there. Forever. Our until you reboot the phone, I guess.

I am transferring from Samsung Note 4 to Google Pixel XL and MMS was a missing link. I like how this app transfers them to gmail, which is a great long term searchable archive. Media was saved. I use the default android Messages. I wish the date stamp was set correctly during mms/sms backup. Alternatively, the date could be added to email body like for calls. Another minor item is some mms subject lines in gmail have :null appended. Still, worth it and better than the other options I tried. Thanks!

This app was great when it first came out, but has been eclipsed by other apps. Biggest flaw is that it time stamps the texts in gmail when it uploads them, not when they are sent or received. This makes searching by date almost impossible or pointless.

This app really does what is advertised. I would give 5 stars if the dev could add a contact selection. I do not want all of my contact conversations backed up. There is only one or two contact conversations I need to have backed up.

Sms backup + is better, send all your text to your email in plain to read emails. You can also search your email for what ever text you are looking for.

Best back up app for my gmail. I can specify the folder it goes into instead of my inbox and I like how I never have to remember to back up or check if it's working properly. Backs up my mms and sms every time I have a Wi-Fi connection. Love it

I've used in the past with success but today none of my received SMS were restored after a factory reset. I see the messages in my Gmail but they just don't get restored! Looks like the dev is AWOL. His domain is no longer valid and no updates since 2013. This app does NOT work with the latest Android, should probably be pulled from the store!

Nice app, and i would imagine there are many things that could cause problems, so it doesnt surprise me that people have so many problems. My issue was every text i recieved was restored as if i had sent it. Also, some contacts are messed up in weird ways. But at least i have the texts!

Works flowless for two years already. Backs up all my texts and call log. Perfect when I need to recover communication info

This app did not work for me. I ended up with only the messages I had sent restored on my new phone and only a handful of the messages I had received. I also had alot of extra random blank messages appear that weren't on my old phone and that I couldn't delete. It also caused a handful of messages to be resent from my new phone.

great app wish I knew about this app a year ago as I'd needed proof of text for a court hearing and didn't have a way to keep them .

Used the app for 5 days. Never got the call at&t tech support promised me, and at end of 5 days, after I called and requested info, I was told what I originally told tech support, it's equipment issues, nothing else it could be. So disgusted with at&t service.

I have used this app for years!!!! Love that it goes to my email account so if I need to I can get to it anytime anywhere if I need to. A big plus if you lose a person's phone number and you have texted that person at least once you can do a search for the person's name or by the contents of the text message in your email account to retrieve that person's number.

Still amazed this isn't a feature that's built into android yet, please update to a nice material design and I will happily donate :)

Its not really clear on instructions and it sometimes glitches-when you tap the back up button and you have the things checked off for it to back them up, itll remain unresponsive.

I think about SECURITY first! Why do I have to use my Gmail account? My primary account on my phone? LAZY PROGRAMMING it seems. I should be able to use ANY email account, such as one I set up STRICTLY for use with this program, on my own server where I have control. Secondly, why can I just back up ONLY the messages I want? UGH waste of time installing this!

Has the option to check auto backup but doesn't work. You have to do it manually. Also will not backup when the screen is off.

Easy to use but guys please make it some eye Pleasing. UI is very outdated. Thats not even material design.

This app has been good for me a long time now does what it says if anyone is having problems with this app either you don't know what you're doing or you need a newer phone..sry just stating the facts.

I do LOTS of business purely on my cell where I could go thru a day with hundreds of important texts and calls. How to keep a copy of all that? This is THE solution. An absolute essential to anyone with important cellphone activity that you need to keep records of. It does it all. SMS, MMS and calls.
