Backup to Gmail

This app used to automatically, and quite quickly backup everything that I selected in the options. Now, I have to go in and manually hit the "backup now" button and there are usually dozens if not more that have not been backed up. The automatic backup feature does not work anymore. If you have to manually backup your items, there are many other programs that are able to do that..... Please fix this, this used to be a great app

I have loved this app for a long time. It used to login, when I connected it to my Gmail and backup automatically. Ever since I have had the Galaxy S7, it no longer does this. Now I must remember to back things up once every few days and if I don't, things pile up and take forever to backup. Please create an update for the S7. I will give it 5 stars and donate

I used to have my text messages backed up to my Gmail instantly with this app. But lately, since the new update.... . It doesn't back up anything until I go into the app and reinstate the settings to my email address. Then I can manually back up my messages and pictures. . Please fix the general communication error so that it works like it used to.... Automatically!! .

This app worked great in the beginning then all of sudden it no longer backs up by itself. I have to force it & when it does back up it only backs up my incoming messages not my outgoing as well. It used to do both in a conversation format to google. Now it doesn't work at all. I've contacted the developer with no response at all the 3 times I have sent an email. My next step is contacting Google directly.

This software seems to have been abandoned. It hasn't been updated since May 12, 2015 and does not work properly anymore (automatic backups fail, manual backups sometimes work). The link to the website of the author fails with a 404 error.

I got a new phone phone and when I try to restore my SMS (There are over 80,000 of them), it stops halfway through (10 hours) and then I have to start over. It keeps saying "general communication error". Trying to restore my text messages and contacts to a new phone is what we pay for. If this app can't do that, then it's useless. UNFORTUNATELY, BACKUP TO GMAIL HAS STOPPED....get used to seeing that message.

Been a user since 2011. It does backup and restore. But definitely needs work. Communication Error during backup often create duplicates messages when I had to start over (Annoying) Caused me to have nearly 70,000 messages saved. Had to manually delete the duplicates from Gmail to restore with no error (Time Consuming). Would prefer if messages saved together instead of separate batches. Tech support not helpful (sent an email with no response) Would be great if MMS could be restored.

Recently switched from GS3 to LG G3 and the auto backup won't work anymore. I now have to reauthorize my Gmail login every time to get the backup working again! This is a great app and I've been using it for years. It's a 5-star app if without this recent bug.

I switched from an HTC M7 to M9 and I continuously get a General Communication Error. Checked my IMAP setup, tried uninstalling, nothing works. This is a 5-star app when working properly.

Stopped working. Causes google security alerts saying app not using correct connection methods and sign in refused. Shame as it was a great app until now

Now, it's hit or miss on the backup. Used to (years ago when first purchased) back up immediately and automatically... Now, it sometimes goes days without backing up. Then when you open the app, gives an error, and you have to log back in with your credentials. Lame.

Such a good app. Don't even have to think about it and all my messages, phone call logs, etc are backed up in my gmail. They are searchable in 100 message groupings, per recipient. Just so convenient.

Keeps records of calls and sms even after you delete them. Never lose anything important

I've had this app for 6 years and it use to work flawlessly. Recently stopped working after working fine for @1yr on Note 4. Please fix! I have to tell it to backup now or else it doesn't at all.

I have a samsung galaxy core prime and the app will not restore at all. Continually says communication error.

8/7/17 - STILL randomly getting "General communication error." IT ISN'T MY GMAIL! (Prior comment: I have had this ap for at least a year. It WAS great. I don't care for the splitting of messages into mms and sms, because it divides a single conversation into two folders if i add a simple emoticon. Makes it very awkward to try and patch together later. And now I'm repeatedly getting the "error in communication" message, though sometimes it just decides to work. That tells me it's a problem with the ap, not the gmail settings. Fix it. Please. I want this to go back to an awesome ap.)

This App Does NOT Automatically Back Up...You Have to Keep Going In ans Reset Your Setting n Then Back Up Manually. Also If You Intend to Back Up Large Quantities of Message You Are Probably Gonna Need to Do So Overnight...And to Restore Them Also. It takes Forever!! And if u get an error you have to start alll over n the messages duplicate... To the developer please fix the bugs n Allow more restore options...such as contact by contact restore, restore from a certain point, restore from last restoring, restore without duplicating...etc

I have to login in and manually backup. I had this to view my son's messages so it's useless now

It used to be a seamless application 5*.But now automatically back up is not happening.

For years I've had this on S4 no issues. Reinstalled on new Samsung Galaxy S6 & gives same message others are getting regarding a communications error. Not working at all now.

I've used this app for years and have never had any issues UPDATE: recently noticed that this app hadn't been backing up all conversations. When I hit backup it still doesn't save the missing conversations

SMS and call log in my Gmail inbox is great. It supports OAuth which is needed for accounts secured with two-factor auth.

Works great, generally reliable! Wish it would warn you when backup fails for some reason or another - like password change, communication error, etc re: COMMUNICATION ERROR another user experienced... I recently purchased a tablet & was often carrying either/or, not both phone & tablet. I tried installing an app that syncs messages to your tablet - did not notice that I was 2-3 weeks w/out SMS backup until I went looking for a particular message. Phone logs had been backing up just file. Deleted the 2nd app, the communication error went away & backups resumed. 2nd wishlist item, an "exception list" of messages (numbers) NOT to backup

This app use to do exactly what it said it did. I backed up all of my sms, mms & call logs. Now, it can't even log into my Gmail account to backup my info. I keep getting an error message that the app doesn't have the security protocols to login to Gmail. Please fix this ASAP. I really loved this app.

This worked for my Droid Maxx with no problems at all. However, I got a new phone yesterday, the Droid Turbo and it keeps crashing on restoring my SMS and Call Logs. Is there an update for this in the near future? The message I get is "Unfortunately, Backup to Gmail has stopped." I'd like to be able to restore all of my SMS's, Call Log, etc. It;s on Android Lollipop. Please HELP! 19Feb16 Do any of the developers actually read the bug notices? I can't get this to work on my Droid Turbo! Everytime I try to restore it crashes and I get an error that says "Unfortunately, Backup to Gmail has stopped" and it stops restoring! When are you going to fix this? I paid for this app and I expect someone to address it and fix it so it works! A response would be appreciated so I know I'm not being ignored! Either that or refund my money!

Google now blocks this app and won't allow a back up and states the app doesn't meet security standards. Pretty lame since I paid for it.

Get "Error during backup. General communication error" message now. Have checked my Gmail settings but still doesn't work. Great app, miss having my text messages backed up.
