Overall it looked promising, connecting quickly to the device without issue, and the app being modern looking. However, the app continuosly refuses to let me see any of the devices readings, force closing the app as soon as I tap to see it. I give it 2 stars because, if this bug gets fixed, the app is nice looking and responsive. Kinda cool. But the feature that's not working is kinda the whole point of the app.
I totally don't understand the ratings given by most of these people. Admittedly most are over a year old, and the app may have been improved since then, but it worked perfectly for me on the first try with an Android phone that is not even on Bactrack's approved list. Maybe that means all of the bugs have been worked out. Love it, and my new Mobile Pro reads exactly the same as my old standby, the Pro 80, which I bought several years ago because it the police standard.
honestly the accuracy has been pretty good but it doesn't stay attached to a device I have to wait several times and restart it before Bluetooth will recognize it the feature I want it for with for the graph afterwards and every single time and I mean that every single time crashes when I try to look at the graph. I really wanted to like this but I'm starting to think I might need to return it since cannot even see your results without .the the app installed.since the app doesnt work....useless
Worked great on my iPhone when I had one. App does not work on my Razer Phone 2 or S9+. Same issue on both. App opens, connect to Vio unit, push to start the test, unit immediately disconnects then goes back to searching. Developers obviously not making too much effort as is evident by the fact that I've seen the same issues and complaints ongoing for Android since I bought this 2+ years ago. Seems hit or miss for many.
Terrible. "Smart app/device" that gives more errors than success messages. Rarely works when you want or need it to. Save your money and get the "dumb" version of the bactrack. That my unit requires the app to even give you a result is ridiculous.
Every negative review listed here is true. I have a note 8 and was unable to connect at all. Absolutely worthless. I can't believe that these people can actually advertise on their packaging that it has an app that is usable because it's not. False advertising at best.
Samsung Note 8; Connections have been flawless. Overall the APP does what it says on the label and for the device * (ill have to update comment) itself in practicality, I reference to anyone as a peace of mind device. My only reason for not giving a full 5 stars may or may not specifically correlate to the APP itself, but that I've noticed some highly varied results when my friends and I used it as a drinking game... nonetheless as the night progressed, contamination may have skewed results. 🤮
Just got my BacTrack trying to use on android Alcatel 7. App didnt seem to work at first as far as connecting to BT thru phone settings. Dont use phone settings. Your BAC device is probably set to 'device only mode' and not APP MODE. SOLUTION FIX: Hold down power button while device is powered on for 7-9 seconds and then you will see APP MODE. Now open app and restart/re power on device. Presto you should be connected!!!
Its a simple easy to understand app. Well polished graphically. Shortcoming is the darn thing just has a lot of trouble connecting. I sit and wait and the app tells me to turn on my backtrack but it's been on for like the past 5 minutes. That's a major problem.
Usually always takes forever to pair the device. Either make improvements to the app or firmware update for device. I shouldn't have to constantly force stop the app and reopen it in order for it to work. It has literally taken me 30 minutes once to pair! Update your stupid app!
Piece of trash. My $50 breathalyzer is now useless since this app shuts it down the second it tries to connect. The product worked well 2 years ago on my iPhone but this is now completely broken and based on other reviews it doesn't seem like it'll change any time soon.
The app works super well! For all the people who cannot access the graph it's because you need to enable storage in the setting then you will be able to open it up!
Terrible app, doesn't work with most Android devices. Contacted the developers over a year ago and was told they were working on updates. Essentially bought a product based on the fact it said it worked on Android and it doesn't. Can't actually use it on my phone. Waste of money.
App worked fine for first few uses and won't even open anymore. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and allowed all permissions on my s10+, but it seems like the developer(s) of this app is/are sleeping on updates. So, this basically renders my device useless. To the devs - keep up on your stuff. I'm a tech guy too and you should be able to pinpoint when and where there are significant changes that will Bork your code. Come on man.
the tool itself works well but the app constantly crashes, and will not connect to the tool. have tried 10+ times just keeps telling me to turn it on. and then crashes.
Thr device itself works really well, the app glitches and malfunctions a lot. Sometimes the different screens overlay on top of each other, the app will disconnect from the device
The device seems to work fine. I struggled with the software. It turns output doesn't work if my phone is connected over wifi. Why????
Doesn't work...constant crashes, doesn't connect to my phone. When it finally does, it crashes during the test. Basically a scam. Don't waste your money.
1. Doesn't connect to the nearby device 2. Crashes when navigating history. This is court ordered so history is paramount. Behavior persists on Pixel 4 and on Pixel 2. Both devices are on Android Q. Please assist, I need to see my son!
Pixel 3. App crashes and has a difficult time connecting. Wish i would have got the one with a screen. Unfortunately it was a present so no receipt.
App crashes when I click some icons. My device wont connect via bluetooth. Although the device works BUT just DOES NOT WORK WITH APP..... app is useless and pointless...
Got to be one of the most unintuitive apps I've ever used. No guide to connect to device.
It has trouble connecting or staying connected but works well when it does. The map that shows other user readings is horrible. They haven't updated that in years. The map is peppered with old data and its no fun to view at all. They seriously need to do something with it. I have to sort of wonder how accurate it is if the app is so sloppy then why would I assume the hardware is accurate?
