Bandcamp

I think Bandcamp is the best application for music in regards to respect to the artist. But the app is lacking on some basic functionalities, like being able to open a link from another application and open it on the app. It opens on my browser instead. Another example is the search tool, I really struggle to find any group on it. It's usually when I have a link and it opens on the browser instead of the app. So unfortunately, a minute or so after I go to spotify.

It happened slowly, but this application has significantly improved to a point where I can definitely recommend it. My main remaining issue is that it doesn't open Bandcamp links. It's frustrating to click a link about a new album on Bandcamp from a message that you're reading inside the app and having the link open in a browser instead of the app.

Basics work, but requires fiddling and guesswork: bought albums appear in my collection only after I terminate the app through system settings to force a refresh. Navigating is not intuitive and requires trial-and-error through all cryptic symbols in confusing structure and layout. The player covers the functionality of a discman (load album, navigate and play through that album); no playlists or queues. Can't download MP3s and it's invisible whether an album is cyrrently cached for offline use.

Not a fan of this once-beloved app. Losing the ability to shuffle the entire collection is tragic, unnecessary, and kills this experience for me. I love Bandcamp. I use it for my bands and label. It's the best music platform out there. But this little hiccup is a total drag. Fix this, please!!! I don't have time to go through my ENTIRE collection just so I can queue music. I miss being able to press the shuffle button 2x, and the whole day is ready to go. Fix this...

Sorry but not feeling the love on this app. Performs well, no crashes, player works well. It's the navigation that I dont like. For one example I have not been able to find where to change suggested genre in feeds after countless attempts. When first set up I accidentally picked "soundtrack" and want it removed! How? Can't find support link either....so here I am.

The app is... Decent. No download button, no option to select and download multiple albums at the same time, no dark mode - Only bright white. Other than that, it does well, and I like it - which is why I really want the devs to improve it. EDIT (05/21): There's finally a download button for my purchased albums. This is now a four stars review. EDIT (03/22) Now it's possible to queue multiple albums! Let's see if they add dark mode as well.

Edit: I updated the app and was notified of the download feature! Awesome devs! Very nice for checking out new music and streaming things in your library. It would be nice if, using the app, you could download music files from your library instead of having to do it from your computer but it is still great!

I've used the app and website for a long time now. The Search options are terrible. It always frustrates me that it can be hard to find an artist or record label, even when you know they're on bandcamp. I always seem to end up googling the name/label followed by the word bandcamp, as the app and site them selves are so terrible. Google does a better job than bandcamp itself. Goodluck ever discovering anything new as well suggestions are never relevant.You have to be looking for specific titles

Seems like it should be a great app to give you direct access to artists and their content but in practice ive found both the app and the website are really difficult to use. As someone who doesn't use it all the time I spend far too long working out how to navigate and get where I want and often just give up on what should be a simple search and purchase of an album.. hope this gets better for the artists sake as much as anything

Good for playing that you have from Bandcamp, but has some weird untuitive quirks at times. E.g. trying to remove songs from queue have to slide a song to display a remove button, but it keeps collapsing for no apparent reason makes it a bit annoying to use (assuming because it moves a tiny bit vertical)

so lacking... no grocery cart so you have to purchase one item at a time, unable to purchase discographies from within app. No screen rotation so if you are using a tablet rotate your head 90 degrees or get used to using it in portrait mode only. Constantly glitches if casting disconnects and starts playing on phone and casting device at same time. Glitches where it just doesn't play even with a connection.

A bit like others have said, the player keeps popping up and muting whatever I'm playing. I can't pause or play other media players from my lock screen because the bandcamp player, even though I may not have been listening to bandcamp at all that day, will be on top of everything instead of what I'm actually listening to. I have to sometimes open and the close the app to make it go away. Which only gives temporary relief. Please fix this :).

Excellent! Now with downloads + a player. I would give 5 stars, but I cannot seem to fully close the app down (on my Pixel 4a). So if I try to close the app down, it still shows as the current media player on my lock screen. I've not Googled this yet, but if I do, I'll let you know if anyone has a workaround for this. Update; Actually I take it all back. I'm giving 5 stars. I think the reported behaviour is an issue with my phone itself (I uninstalled BC then found the same behaviour with VLC).

I've used Bandcamp for some years now, functioned perfectly for everything I had the app for- A recent update, however, has caused the mobile player to freak out quite often for no reason. Good ideas for what additions were added, but really disappointed in the design overhaul making the mobile player unreliable, requiring to go into the app in order to change what I'm playing in an album often. Don't fix what isn't broken. I want the old player back.

Really love the look and feel, it's like Spotify but buying albums instead of being forever stuck hoping the album doesn't disappear magically. Also great quality music in good formats, artists get a good chunk, etc, really awesome platform. But please put a bit more effort in bugfixing, there are plenty bug reports in the reviews, and I personally also find basic things like queueing a new album clears the queue, which makes me wonder what they'd imagine a queue is used for if not queueing?

poorly designed ui that makes shuffling my library unnecessarily difficult (it can only be accomplished by individually queuing every album or song). the search feature is almost entirely useless, since it won't match on both the artist and song name together. the app randomly crashes and when it does, it resets the song that was playing back to the beginning. it also randomly stutters when i open other apps.

Superb way to buy music, helping to support established and new up and coming artists. I wish though that Bandcamp would allow you to make a playlist, it's the only thing the app needs to make it perfect.. EDIT - They have granted my wish 💜

I love this service, and the recent feature additions to the app have been great! Thanks Bandcamp, you're in a very small minority of services & software which I actively like rather than merely tolerate and/or grudgingly pay for as there's just no better alternative.

I purchased what was supposed to be 24 bit high resolution music, when I actually got the files, they were 16 bit files. I tried emailing then several times, no responce. Not only did they take money under false information about the music I purchased, they have not done anything to remedy the situation. I will never purchase any music from this company again.

My music is up exclusively on this platform. However when you do a search, my artist name is not even on the chosen field. My album title is not either. I have to send links for anyone to find my music.
