I am completely perplexed by all the positive reviews for this game. I have wanted to play the game since the day it was released, but was only able to play when I recently got a Tegra 3 device. Now I'm upset I wasted the $4 on this game. The graphics are poor, the game has an extremely limited amount of cars, and if a car crashes into a wall it can't reverse from it and so is stuck there the whole race. The game is completely unenjoyable.
This is a very promising game and I know it could be fantastic, but the control options are awful. Virtual controls are a terrible idea in racing games. Come on guys, the ideal control mechanism should be obvious. Add support for the accelerometer which works well in these types of games. Just look to Reckless Racing as proof.
One of the best racing games on the market. Easy five stars. The ONLY thing that runs it is you can't restart races if you lose. You have to start the series all over again. I like a challenge, but that's a little much for a game that can be really difficult at times. Please add a Restart option for each race, and this game will be perfect.
What is this? Came to the first lap, crashed into the wall along with all the other AI cars and we are just stuck there. You can't move, reset the car, reverse or anything. Started another game and the exact same thing happened again. What a waste of money. Would have been better throwing the cash in the bin!
This game was a bit rough when it was first released. I originally returned for a refund. But Play box listened to the feedback and made the corrections. I decided to download the demo to see if it was better, and wow, they really worked everything out. You gotta give them credit for that. I purchased the full game again. Great game!
Graphics are awesome and certainly lives up to that billing. The control scheme is cute but it definitely takes some getting used to. Without using a matt screen protector to make it smoother to slid the finger around, it can get rather uncomfortable with the friction between finger and screen. I would like to suggest to the developer to include a regular button control scheme for people who prefer that. Put that in place and this easily becomes a 5* game.
This game looks amazing, however the player and AI opponents will often find them selves stuck on the wall (the AI will not reverse and some control methods don't include reverse) will Hopefully this can be fixed soon with a minor update. Then and only then is it worth buying.
Okay I see they want to stick with controls but come on none compare to what a on-screen joystick could do.....full left or full right all we have to work with still. Next update joystick..p.s I have made it to last category of cars and they are to fast for not to have full steering control yet I still give 5 star cause it calls me for action
For once, a driving game where you can't just leave your foot on the gas the whole time. To succeed in this game, you need to anticipate the next turn, and break accordingly. It's challenging, but in a good way. On top of that, the slightly cartoonish graphics are top notch. Well worth the money.
worked the first time I ran it, but I hated the default control scheme so I quit. A few days later I found out that the control was changeable so I figured I would try again. Just freezes on startup now. I uninstalled and reinstalled and got it to start a race with a different control scheme and it worked for about 3 seconds until it locked up. Thanks to Googles horrible return policy now I cant get my money back...
Let's face it - this was meant to be played on a 10" Tegra 2 tablet and it is excellent. on my Xoom it is manic. I do feel limited by only one method of control as I see most of the other Reviewers are but I just had a note from Playbox Games saying "We'll be updating the game soon with more features so stay in touch". Those of you that are hesitating, buy the game and enjoy and pester Playbox for an "update soon"
Bang Bang Racing could also use a race again feature with the ability to change cars after finishing a single race instead of going back to the main menu. Its been a long time from the last update so I doubt that this game will get updated any more. But I hope it does, it's a fantastic game. Update to my review. I cannot make it to the last race in the Apex World Trophy Championships, the game keeps crashing back to my home screen. I hope they fix this and update it with a few addons.
Not very happy that I bought the "Special Introductory Price" on the day it came out. Especially because it didn't even work on my tablet back then. Don't plan on buying anymore Playbox games in the future.
Game is a fun concept with great graphics But, it crashes every few minutes and will not respond to user input and will need to be force closed. The map Japan will glitch uncontrollably during championship mode and is unplayable. Controls can be iffy at times, but the developers make a few options available to you to suit your needs and screen. The AI for the bots can be off at times as they pile up in corners often times trapping you against a wall. A heads up map would be nice.
The graphics of this game look great on my Acer Tablet, but I have a few issues with the game play. The first is the controls, it takes to long to get use to the position and operation. My next biggest qualm with the game is the fact the AI cars don't take damage and don't require pit stops, so once you fall behind, its difficult to catch up. I don't know if the AI could be fixed, but the control thing surely can.
Overhead in a racing game? Makes it very difficult to play. Suspect many of the control issues would go away if a more conventional driver view was available. Not that impressed with the graphics (compare for example Riptide which shows what these things can do) - seems more designed for pre-tegra devices.. which would be fine but its marked THD and pushed on the tegra zone, so there are certain expectations. Ultimately, I just found it not fun. Normally I love driving games, but this didn't engage me.
The game is awesome except for one little thing, during the championship races it keeps force closing, so I never get to advance past the lowest class. If they fix the crashing I will update and give 5 stars. 3.1 Xoom
Keep crashing every time it loads up. Need fix. Still Not Working Come On Gave It A Update Something So It Can Play. Do not get this game don't work. when it do will get back to you.
Would give no stars if I could. The game works fine but 10 seconds into a race and you're stuck facing the wall with no way out. The only option is to quit to the main menu and do it all over again. This is disgusting for a paid game. I want my money back!
