It does what it has to do, but the UX is terrible, asks for PIN for every interaction, challenge codes are always numeric, but the app brings up the full qwerty keyboard. and the app just doesnt feel like a native android app, the UI is a total mess.
Absolutely awful. Clunky to use and every interaction with it seems to have to end in a call to their tech support to revalidate some detail. Meanwhile you've wasted hours trying to complete a simple transaction between your own accounts. The dog would build a better system.
100% the worst app I've ever come across. And I'm not surprised after using other BOI apps. Completely unusable. Unable to set up because the system is a failure. Avoid using this at all costs and do yourself a favour and switch to a different bank. Not only the app but everything about BOI is pure and utter s**t.
Changed phones to Samsung and app only shows numeric keyboard when setting up so I can't authenticate phone cos need to enter alpha characters. Contacted bol and support staff have no clue how to fix the problem... boi are the most customer unfriendly organisation I have ever come across.
Awful, especially when phones are lost or changed, which happens alot in the real world! I spend more time resetting the program for myself and other users then actually using it!
Terrible app... It needs a security code, a registration code, a password, and a pin code just to set it up. It then says code not regonised when I typed in the code sent by text. It simply does not work!
Forced to use this app for work. Terribly designed. Tedious to use Awful layout. Confusing. No wonder digital banks are winning the battle with the incumbents when this is the best boi can come up with. Get the lad out lads.
Requires a laptop or desktop at same time as phone to set up or carry out most functions. Needed it for password function which simply does not work. Deleted after less than 24 hours as useless to me.
For a few glorious days I had a number pad on which to enter the challenge code for payments. They've finally fixed it!!! Opened the app again this morning and we're back to the qwerty keyboard...
Useless app. Already been set up but now says it needs to be set up again which I can't do as the bank of ireland app says it's already been set up. Impossible to get any support either
Very glitchy and time consumming . There is an error with the challenge codes recently BOI app issues a code and the online banking says its invalid. Constantly being locked out of account because of app issuing unusable codes .
Try to link my account to Revolut and get "login details are incorrect every time".... BOI need to get with the times and upgrade their online banking and apps, they are dinosaurs in a tech world.
Impossible , why waste 10 mins of my life trying to set this up when the app closes every time u minimise the screen .
I'm glad I only have to use this for connecting BOI to my Revolut 😅 Bank of Ireland clearly has a team of developers that lack talent. The app functions are horrible as is the design. Get a grip guys. You're falling behind everyone else
Won't accept code generated by app after spending an hour setting it up! No wonder other online banks are doing so well, if this is the competition. Would have no stars if I could
Changed my phone but couldn't use the app because it says that my android version is the most recent and they don't update the app yet. It's a bank app please do it

Very confusing system to set up. Help desk not that tuned in. Very complicated approach.
Terrible when you have to change phone or reinstall. Crazy amount of hurdles and phone calls to make to set up
Why does the app auto close if I minimize it!!!!!!!! Sooo frustrating its impossible to configure using a smartphone alone
App closes when minimised making it impossible to do the browser verification process. Not fit for purpose!
over two year old app, requires significant updates. opens as blank screen. uninstalled.
Broke the setup process of a business account because it reset when I closed to generate a pin in my password manager. Any half qualified software engineer could build better in a weekend.
I hate your app with passion. Least you can do is have a numeric code enabled when entering parameter

Abysmal extra layer of wasted time that refuses to function. Moving my current account to Revolut.
Needs a lot of work. Hugely timewasting to have to input your PIN for every interaction with the app. Also very irritating that the numerical keypad automatically shows for PIN entry but for the challenges, which are only ever numerical, the QWERTY keyboard is the automatic view. Similarly the return key in the PIN input works as required, but it doesn't for the challenges. The authorisation key field on the actual website should also be ready to complete, rather than having to go to the app, complete the challenge and then back to the website, click on the field...all so very cumbersome and not user-friendly at all.
