App is slow and does not let me sign in using fingerprint feature, which is a lot safer than a regular pin. Also it would add security to users if ANY TRANSACTION made with the card generated a pop-up message to the user. Just to know if someone else is using it, or if the card has been copied.... That would improve the experience a lot. Even revolut has that.

This app is slow and clunky. When using on a desktop it's supposed to send an authentication message to the app on your phone, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, in which case you have to sign in on your phone then go back to where your computer will have timed out, sign back in there again, then back to phone for authentication. Dreadful. Does not inspire much confidence. It's been around long enough for them to have fixed these bugs. I guess we should just be grateful that we don't have to stand in queues to do some of the more basic transactions. Thanks, I've received your reply and I have done as you've asked (cleared cache etc.) and unfortunately it's still not doing what it's supposed to. So I'm afraid I have to leave it at 1 star.

This bank app needs a lot of improvements. It is one of the worst UX I have seen for a bank app. 1 - I am not able to have a copy of payment made to a payee. Can't even capture a screenshot. Always have to request it via chat and wait 2 working days to get it. That is ridiculous! Why not add a share option once you complete a transaction and give flexibility to send it via email/WhatsApp/Telegram etc. 2 - There is no options to search a specific value in the balance statement.

Thoroughly terrible. The repeated crashes will have your 365 account blocked, and good luck getting it unlocked with the phone robot. You do the procedure, and your account is still locked. Navigation through the menus is appalling and even things like authorising a payment works only half the time, when the app finally notices the yes, there is a pending transaction!

It has only been 2 weeks since I have been using this app. The loading is kinda slow. Maybe bcoz there are a lot of features in it. There is a need to put the PIN# twice everytime a transaction is made. The name of the transaction should be specified right away. I need to click view everytime to see where the transaction came from. Lastly, there should be a notification msg when a purchase is being made or debited.

Recently moved from ulster Bank to BOI. BOI app is missing some very basic functionality I used to have. 1. Only overall balance is visible at the top. In the list of transactions, a balance at the time of transaction to the right in another column is missing. 2. Transaction search functionality is almost useless, no ability to search for a user input search string or for a user input time period. 3. Credit card transactions dont display for multiple days despite balance changing immediately.

The app is clunky and old. It badly needs updating. I can't access as it is asking me to type a user name and the key board that comes up is numerical only. This was from circa 2020. They have improved it. The security is tight but the app works better. It still seems a bit clunky and they would be better off partnering with Zelle or Revolut. It does work better than it has in the past.

The app has come a long way, really. There are light-years between the most recent version and what was on offer three years ago, however, quite a few features that are provided on competitors apps like Revolut or N26 are still missing which is why they still have an edge. All in all, I'm really quite happy with the app in its current state and look forward to new features to come.

Terrible app. Rarely works or requires multiple restarts to get it to work. Update. Even after the apps update and redesign it is still dreadful. The entire interface and constant confirmations need make it a really bad user experience. Even after wnting the 3 digitra from your pin your still asked to confirm your action with a slider, for nearly every action. The payment confirmation on the home screen prior to login is also unusable if you are logged into the app.

Terriblely slow and just awkward to use every step of the way. Why does it have to load everytime i click into something! The user interface like the buttons you click on are fine, they do their job in helping navigate the app. But the response times from the app are unacceptable. Seriously get one of the devs to try revolut and see what a competent app looks like and feels like

I've been a BOI customer since the first version of the app and it has come a long way. Now that there is feature parity between the website and app I'm no longer frustrated. It would be extremely useful to check balance of a pre set account from the app login screen. Put it behind biometrics or other phone level security. Checking my balance is 90% use case so speeding that up would earn you 5 stars from me.

App is terribly slow, back gesture doesn't work, sometimes hard to tell if I'm in the app or on boi website, the cards screen didn't respond on a brand new card, had to activate via browser, after launching keyboard appears for a split second and then disappears. Google pixel + android 12. Used ulster bank before, their app is so much better. Please treat it as formal complaint.

App is the definiton of "okay". It works, but that's about it. The UI is awful; random information boxes appearing and throwing other UI elements off, leading you to click on things you didn't mean to, etc. Akward layout, slow. Overall fine, but could really be improved.

Most of the time the app works well for what I need it for BUT I have two gripes. When I buy online and a message to confirm goes to my phone I have an insanely short time to confirm, someone said 45 seconds and I believe them. If I have to unlock my phone I will be repeating the buying process. Similarly please extend the time given to key in the first number of the three the 6 digits. The keypad has to activate. Even with an unlocked phone 45 seconds is potentially too short.

Overall the app is not bad, but there are some issues that definitely need to be fixed. There is clearly an issue with the backend, I get notifications to approve a payment when I should not get any and sometimes I don't get them when I should. This leads to frustrating experiences where I need to restart the app multiple times to make a payment, and a few times even that didn't work, this should never happen as I should in complete control of how and when to spend my money.

Hi, I'm using this app for over 4 years It easy to navigate trough it's menues and clear UI However, it's has same bugs Like, yesterday I had to use direct bank transfer for 40 odd euros, because credit card wouldn't go trough it's "famous" 3D check swipeing , no matter what I do🤨 Basicaly that system is a lottery, sometimes you might win... But, usually you'll lose

Not always intuitive. Sending money is cumbersome. While it has some good features, it misses on general standards of international banking, such as quick transfers using only the phone number between BOI users. The app and the services need to modernize, or BOI will steadily fall behind competitors.

This is my first banking app and to be honest I find it good for what I want, maybe for other users it's not fast or sophisticated enough but I find it fine. It takes a little while sometimes to find exactly what you are looking for if it's not the basics and I see someone else mentioned the pin number boxes jumping in the middle of inputting but overall its fine, it can only improve I imagine, its normally not the app that's my problem it's how little is in my account when I open it 😉. . . .

Missing functionality, receipts and virtual cards. Ridiculous, that I cannot get a receipt to share with receiver for transfers, or adding a payee for that matter. And why cant you issue virtual credit cards to improve security and fraud attempts on Internet purchases instead of putting those ridiculous blocks on the card, which I cannot unblock with the app either. And lets not forget the 30 m waiting calls. This app does only a minimum of what a modern banking app should be able to, sad!

It's not a terrible app, but it is clunky to use. Coming from Ulsterbank there was a finer layer of polish that and auth via the phones would be nice to have. Having to enter half the digits from your pin while out and about can be a pain, not to mention a bit of a security risk.

The app has much improved over the years, however it still has major UX issues. For example with the changes to verified by visa, if I open the app and accidentally log into my BOI account o have to close the app entirely to return to the homescreen to be able to click the approve payment button.. even this feedback, the app sent me a notification asking if I wanted to provide feedback and instead of a survey or review it opened this page, as if Google reviews will impact people using this app

I have strongly considered moving to another bank based off of the app. It is one of the worst banking apps I have ever had to use. It is extremely slow and the drop down menus come up as white text on white blocks so you cannot read the option which takes several minutes to try complete only to get to a 'this page is currently unavailable' message. There are certain things you cannot view using the app which defeats the purpose of online banking.

Why is this app still so painful to use. It slow, buggy and horrible to use. Instead of fixing issues such as number pad appearing and disappearing in the middle of use. Or the screen changes sizes just as you click on an option you want and sends you into another option. Some eejit just keeps add more bloating features. And bank of Ireland only response is a very condescending "I'm very sorry you feel that way about our amazing app."

Update:20.05.2022. this app got worse ,now it crashes while using.tried everything. Totally useless app!!!. Yes,I cleared cache If this app doesn't work without issues soon then time to change to different bank !! I though this boi app couldn't get any worse, its painfully slow to do anything. why can't boi app work like revolut app. Smooth with no issues.gives error no network when this is a network.cant reach boi server error.calling boi waste of time as they reading script and are clueless.

Frustrating. The app now refuses to open to the verify screen when prompted for online purchases. When I open the security screen prompt manually there isn't a verification waiting for me - therefore I cannot make online purchases currently. Also will not link to PayPal or Google Pay now so I can't use Uber/Deliveroo etc. either. BOI's response of deleting and reinstalling (which is not a fix) is shoddy at best and infuriating at worst.

It is better than not having an app, but not by much. Hard to navigate, can't seem to just display direct debit mandates, payments seem to be slower than via my old KBC app. Also have to manually add any new accounts. Probably the worst banking app I have used.

The app would be just ok if we were in 2012. But we're not. Still no fingerprint integration. Slooooow and clunky. Very basic features only. Edit: thanks for the irrelevant canned response. Goes to show the state of it.
