The mobile deposit feature is extremely frustrating to use. It doesn't use the built in camera app so pictures are blurry. It has you take front and back before you know if it can read the check, and displays a useless marker that is too wide if your phone has a tall screen (Pixel 5 here). I have to try 4-5 times each check I deposit. Also the session handling isn't great, the app always says it's having issues connect after you reopen an existing session. It should just log you out.

App doesn't seem to properly log you out even if you close it, often allowing you to get several clicks into the menus before it freezes, after you restart the app and login you will get a message about being logged out due to inactivity. Makes me wonder how safe money and data is seeing as you can't even properly secure a very basic banking app.

By "Takes up to 10 business days to process payments.", they mean "We take all 10 business days to process your payment." I ended up needing to make payments for my bills with different cards to avoid late fees. I did incur 2 late fees that I was able to beg my way out of, due to always paying those bill on time in the past. I am still in my promotion period, but refuse to use this bank any longer. I check the account later at night, and often times it would take a long time to load, or fail.

I'm new with Bank of the West so haven't had much experience with the app, but it seems pretty user-friendly so far! Only thing I have been having issues with is changing my address. I keep trying to add my apartment number on the second optional address line, and it never reflects the changes. I even tried to just add the apt number on the first address line, and that didn't take either. Not sure how to get it to save my address changes!

Needs Work!! This app is not to easy to use, several times it gives me an ERROR message when trying to pay my RV loan. Then when you try to send payment it doesn't let you know that it was successful or even ask for you to review first. You have to be really careful as it will give you an error message and then you try it again then your account gets charged twice and then you have to deal with overdraft on your checking account. Other apps are very easy and straight forward. This one is not!!

I've had issues with this bank in person and issues with the app now. Cutoff time for transferring money between accounts is now 7 pm Pacific time. It won't transfer the money immediately anymore, it will just schedule a transfer when available. I have no idea why you're gonna change the previous feature of anytime transfer to this one, but it seems like a step backwards and is incredibly irritating for those who need access to their money. Cash grab.

Everything was working fine, albeit slowly, till mobile banking was updated over the weekend. Now every time I try to deposit a check the app kicks me out & closes. So far I can do everything else. I just click on "deposit a check" and instantly get kicked off the app. PLEASE FIX ASAP!

What a pain. Constant problems with this app. it either loads a black screen or it sits and "securely logs in" for 10 minutes (even when I'm on Wi-Fi). I have an LG Stylo 4 and I JUST updated the app. This is embarassingly poorly executed. Edit: 2/2/2022, most problems have been fixed. Haven't had a black screen or stuck loading screen in some time.

I used the mobile app to set up a travel notice for my debit card. Now, I'm stuck in Europe with no money, and botw won't answer my calls (2+ hours on hold, then the call just drops). Terrible customer service and non-existent help.

Im very close to deleting this app and bank all together. If it's not one thing it's the app itself is down and then you have wait nearly an entire day if not longer for it to be up and running again.

Terrible app- poor features, cannot see all recent transactions, Zelle and check deposit don't always show up as an option. As for the bank? - worst banking experience I've ever had. I deposited $1200 at an ATM, it said "transaction failed". I called to fix the issue they have now removed and redeposited the money 3 times and it may happen again. Now it looks like I over-drew my account. Go ahead and risk banking with them. They will play with your money like a 5-year-old plays Monopoly.

I have to wait for 1 hour and 16 minutes on the phone to talk to customer service, and i got hang up because can not connect with the customer service, i try to call from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm still can not talk to customer service!!! Always took me about 40m to 60m when i call customer service, even call from 4:00 am or 9:00 pm, no one there to answer the phone. I am gonna close the bank because of this. I am done!

DO NOT USE THIS BANK OR THIS APP. Horrible app 4a bank that is playing a numbers game of forcing consumers to be late on their payments. App wont open, wont go to home screen, cant get loan # to call bank. When you DO call bank it demands loan# (which is in app, Cust support cant access, they say) Good thing i recorded loan# the 1ST Time they pulled this w me. Also, i have confirmation# for OnTime payment i made, via THEIR phone#. Now? I set up autopay thru MY bank, so they cant pull this AGAIN

I will quickly sum up this application. Imagine you are going out to dinner and when you arrive,the valet absconds with your vehicle,the doorman pick-pockets your wallet,and then your waiter seduces and then runs off with your fiance/wife/gf mid-meal... Using this app or dealing with this institution would still be,by far,the worst customer service experience of your life. I would however recommend it to anyone I did not like,at all.

App crashes more than 50% when trying to deposit checks via mobile. Just awful. Their stuff is always clunky and compared to US Banks mobile app is an embarrassment.

For the most part, this app is easy to use. I've used it for years. However, to deposit a check through the app is horrible. The pictures are never right - I follow the guidelines and everything and always have the hardest time depositing anything. It's very inconvenient.

Can't not login in. I created an account through web. I could login through both desktop & mobile websites. But when I try to login through the app, the username and password field is ALWAYS reset to blank when I try to get my password from a password manager. So even though the fields are filled in but the password manager, the app resets it to blank when you return to it. Making it useless.

I can view my balance on my account. But it would be a great option to get approval of a transaction before you let the transaction go thru from the customer. While it is pending. Some kind of a text message for all amounts over two cents. That would cut down on these scams racking people accounts. Buy put in a code that only the bank and customer would know. That could cut down on disputes on accounts. I believe. Thank you for asking.

It works 25% of the time. I typically have to open it, close it, open it again, wait a few seconds, and THEN it finally loads the login page. The rest of the app is fine, but it's terribly annoying not being able to just GET IN when I need to. I'm on a Galaxy S10, Android 11.

Once PNB got this bank in their clutches everything went downhill. In person branches cutting hours, now an app that can't figure out how to close and reopen correctly.

This Bank and app is the worst bank and most unsecured I banked with them for over 2 years and not once was my account in thee negative or not once was I in bad terms with them. But they suddenly out of the blues decide to CLOSE DOWN all my accounts for no apparent reason at all. So I went in to speak with a manager ND the manager had no explanation for me on why they were closing my accounts. I've been a good positive customer to them for something like that to happen im not too happy. RATE-=5

I tried to close my account and they kept charging me after 3 weeks. I moved to a different city where I don't have this bank close for at least 2 hours, so I opened an account with a different bank. They told they were closing my bank account is 5 days, 3 weeks later I tried to check, as I did everyday, and I saw negative numbers cause automatic payments were still charging that day. I had to pay the fees and everything. Now I am waiting again to close my account. They do not accept it.
