With the BankID app you can identify yourself and sign documents — without using a code device!
The app meets official security requirements and can be used to:
- Log in to any bank in Norway
- Log in to most public services
- Sign binding documents electronically
- Confirm online payments
Instead of using the one-time password from your code device, you rather approve requests directly in the app. The BankID-app is used together with your social security number and personal password.
To get going you need a BankID certificate issued by a bank. For the moment Sparebanken Vest is the only bank approved. Check where your BankID is issued at bankid.no/privat.

Hi..this app is causing issue with android 12 giving error as "an error occured due to connection timeout " also all my network connections are reset multiple times automatically. Means sim network bar goes blank then again get intialize and it happens almost 3-4 times and the get error for connection timeout. After this phone start behaving abnoramally. Need to restart everytime. Please check what could be done to fix.
This app looks promising, but inststs to send an SMS to get started... and for this part, it seems only Norwegian phone numbers are supported. Many of us live abroad... so, this does not work out.
My bank forces me to use this app to confirm my identity, but the QR code scanner does not work. I even tried printing the code. Any basic QR scanner app for Android can read the QR in an instant. This is atrocious! If you can't code a basic feature that phones have been able to do for over a decade, then you have no business making apps that people require to live!
Problem when using the app for updating my ID with the bank. At the end with the camera function for taking a picture of my face it says " does not recognize face" and "stop talking". Eventually it says "try again later".
What a failure of an updated bankid process. No one wants a new app when bankid on mobile works just fine, except for how you messed up the process recently. The motivation for this move is obviously money, to using telcos to support bankid. Sad
Repeated attempts at activation using legacy BankID Mobile, SMS or code card fails with error messages claiming that this is not supported by my bank. The bank providing my BankID is included in the list of supported activation vendors and is also advertising this on their own website.
"Device error. This device is not supported." That's what I get when starting the app and then selecting ID check. This is on a factory reset squeaky clean android9 phone (not the one I type from now). How DnB can rely on this piece of junk app to impose ID check on their customers is an absolute scandal. Whoever are responsible for this atrocity should be dismissed. Both the app people and the bank people that imposed using the app. People can't fly around the world to show their face at DnB
Utter rubbish, but somehow we need this app to access our digipost, which we must have. We're forced to use an app that has lower ratings than Facebook (2.3) to access vital services and does not function for a large number of people. I realize corona times has made everything difficult, but if the developers can't make this service more useable on regular mobiles, then OUTSOURCE to people that are more competent.
Works perfectly for One Plus Nord, Android 11 Haven't had any issues so far.
As I don't have a Norwegian number I can't activate or use the app. Absolutely useless. Can't access the code device.
Totally unreliable service, going down almost every day and the notification system in the app is a pure joke
Unusable: I can't activate it since I have to know my password to set a password, and I have to use the app to authenticate to change password, and I can't set a password through the bank.
Just stoped and returned to start in ID process, picture of passport OK, scan passport OK, picture of face -back to start page..
Whenever I need to scan my face, the app fails and I need to start the process all over again
What a horrible app. (That's the most polite way I can put it). I'm forced to use this app to access my banking yet the app is not working properly on my phone, and when I try to install it on my tablet it states that the app is not optimized for my tablet. Did you guys even try your own app??? The app won't send SMS to countries other than Norway.
Trying to login on my banking app using this BankID-app is hopeless. Steps to reproduce: - Start login process in an app which supports BankID login (on the same phone as the one BankID is installed on). - Choose "BankID app" - Open BankID app to approve login - Go back to the original app, which had now lost its state and attempts to start the login process all over again. This is not a problem using "BankID på mobil", or authenticator apps using a pop-up overlay like Microsoft Authenticator.
Useless. The app says my device is not supported, yet it fulfils the requirements perfectly. So I can't use BankID at all, and as I live outside Norway but DNB wants me to prove my identity (been a customer for 30 years, so I don't understand this!), I cannot visit a DNB office to present my passport. Stuck. I know I can call DNB to find a solution, but modern life should really be a lot simpler than this.
The app worked for me a few times. Recently it hasn't worked any more. I have made several attempts to deinstall, reinstall and try again, failing again. A couple of hours later i get a text message that it has been deactivated and i have to reactivate it. The app itself should have displayed more info. It doesn't inform about deactivating and how to reactivate it.

Absolute garbage of an app. Not trusting third party keyboard crashes your app even tho it's one of the most used keyboard on android (Swype/Swiftkey). After manually troubleshooting finally get a login only to be prompted back in the app with "your bank does not support this app". Don't worry, this app is also not supported by DNB it seems and nobody should waste their time on it.

Can not activate app. First, you have to have a vipps acct to use code device, else it require a +47 phone nr. I have the code device but useless here i guess, and i cant sent activation code to a +1 nr

Unable to complete id check, after scannim passport, it just fails when starting the face photo. I saw others have same problem.

I am being forced to use this, and it is immediately a catastrophe. When trying to do the "ID-check" the app got permanently stuck on a screen saying "An error occurred while connecting to the server. Check your internet connection and try again.". The developer says to activate NFC, which I thought was ridiculous because NFC has nothing to do with QR codes (or the error message the app gives me), but I tried it anyway, and predictably it still doesn't work and I get the exact same error message.
