Tried using this app to get a scan of skin and it didn't even get past the part of tapping it to white paper. Used multiple sheets and different levels of background lighting and nothing worked. As everyone else has said, great concept but execution is highly disappointing. Felt this would have been a phenomenal tool to help me choose the right shade of foundation ESPECIALLY since I am a newbie in the world of makeup.

I was surprised that the app does not give an accurate shade match of your skin tone. Depending on the type of light you have, the resulting shade actually varies. My initial resulting match was Fair Neutral. It was close but a tad off. So I contacted customer service coz I wanted to find out if I could actually get a better match for my skintone. I re-scanned twice to check accuracy but gave me 2 different shade under same lighting. Am I just wasting my time?

kept 'tapping' on the white paper step... at least 100 times and nothing happened. restarted app 4 times with same issue. no case on phone, tried 3 different types of white paper.

When I scanned the white paper and my wrist it worked fine, but everytime it came to scanning any part of my face it keeps telling me to scan again.

This app worked great for me on my old phone. I just upgraded to the Samsung galaxy S10 and now its incompatible?!

cool concept but didn't work with my phone. Just kept telling me to remove my phone case and went back to the homescreen.

It's an interesting concept I'd love to try but sadly it doesn't seem to work with my note 9 I can't even scan so sad😥

kept telling me to keep tapping and did NOTHING. Uninstalled... so annoying! 👎

was able to download it but it just kept telling me to tap on the white paper and to remove my phone case.

it only scanned the white face and it didn't move on, so sad.

Did it three times and got three different answers. Did not instill trust that the $50 I was about to spend would be the right shade

Not compatible with a Note 10 plus 🙄

Overall it's a cool app to be able to find your "perfect" shade of foundation. It is a little weird to have to repeatedly tap your face with your phone but pretty cool none the less. I submitted this honest review as part of a contest #influenster Update: so I received my foundation that was supposed to be my perfect shade and it's way too dark. I had to mix it with a light color of drugstore makeup to be able to use it. So I don't recommend this app

I previously wrote a review after having a bad experience with this app, but I tried it again, and it actually worked! It took the different shades on my face and created a foundation shade that (should) match my skin perfectly. I ordered one of their foundations, and I'm hoping I have a foundation that finally matches my skin tone. I'm really excited to receive it.

This app was suprisingly easy to use, the creators really thought things through providing how to videos, pictures as well as a voice over that walks you through the steps. I like that you dont have to have any fancy lighting or supplies just some basic white paper and some dim indoor light (so much easier to find). While I have not ordered yet the shade shown at the end looks like it would match my skin tone well, will be interesting to see if it is a perfect match. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, especially if they are having a difficult time finding a good shade match. I wrote this review as part of a contest with Influenster. *Update* I won a free bottle of this foundation from Influenster so I now have the actual foundation to determine if the app did what it was advertised to. Upon redownloading the app and going through the simple process again I was afraid the shade shown on my phone would be too dark for my skin but since I was getting it free and they had the shade matxh garentee I figured worst case I'd sent it back. The speed of production and shipping was fantastic, I ordered the evening of June 26th, my foundation was made on the 27th and it arrived to my home today the 30th. The packaging was great and the bottle came without a scratch. I got it out and tried it on and the color was perfect! For reviews on other sites I took a picture with foundation on just half my face and if it werent for half my face being flawless and the other half having some imperfections, you would never know I only have make up on one side. So far I am loving the formula too, very happy with this app and product!

Doesn't work at all. It took 5 times of reopening app to make it scan. Can't get past trying to scan the white paper 100 times! Waste of time, don't bother

I downloaded this app because of influencer and I am happy I did. They sent me the perfect color foundation and it was created for just me. Love it!!!

Amazing!! I am sad it only works on certain devices but oh my goodness, when you're able to download its very smooth and so easy! Can't wait for my personal shade to arrive!!

This app is amazing ! It is very user friend and in-depth on how to properly use it , so you can have an exact foundation formulation ! All you need to do is get a small stack of blank white paper to calibrate your phone camera. What you need to do is : hold your phone a couple of inches over the white paper with your phones flashlight on and tap the phone on the paper a few times, viola! the calibration is done. The app will tell you if your phone has calibrated or not. After your calibration is done , you will do a series of up close and personal phone taps on your facial skin. Cheeks, chin , forhead etc. You will need to hold your camera a couple of inches from your face with the flashlight on and then you tap on your face a few times in each different region . The app will tell you if you tapped the camera on your face properly or if you need to redo the taps . You will also see pictures of exactly where to tap on your face. It takes about 3-4 mins to use the app. I think its best to be in good lighting for an accurate depiction of skin color and tone. After you do a few taps , that's it , you're done . I found this app through Influesnter and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately it was very difficult to use and took forever. The scanning process took so long because it continuously made me scan the same part of my face multiple times. After multiple failed attempts I gave up. I followed the instructions but it just wasn't working. My phone was getting really hot so I decided to quit. I really wish it worked though :/ I wrote this review as part of a contest for Influesnter.

This was interesting to say the least. It was a little difficult at first to get the taps correct, but I'm curious to see how correct or not the shade will be. I always have a difficult time with choosing the correct foundation for myself and with my ho tofoundation being discontinued, I can't waot to see how this way of finding a perfect match will be. Very fun, once I got the hang of it and I enjoyed the voice commands walking me through it. I wrote thid review for a contest for the influenster app.

This app is quick and easy to use. The instructions are easily understood and spoken in a friendly voice. I have trouble finding a good match in foundation and hope that this app will help me find the best color for me. All you have to do is tap tap tap and the app does the rest for you. Once I got the hang of the app it only took a few minutes to get my results. I wrote this review as part of a contest.

Taking your phone case off is key. I kept my case on during my first attempt and I spent 30 minutes trying to scan my left cheek with no success. I wish the app took skin type into consideration. It's an easy to use app that will hopefully make it easier to choose a foundation color. I tried the app for a contest, but opinions are my own. #contest

The app is straight forward and very easy to use. If you need help in the beginning then it has a video explaining everything before you start you scan. Then you can do your scan andirons talks to you while you do it telling you when to move to each place and if you are doing it correctly. It's a lot of tapping different areas of your skin with you phone's camera which may seem tedious but the end result is very accurate. This review is part of a contest. #influenster

This a pretty useful app to find the best foundation shade for you. It is easy and practical to gauge what shade is best for you. Make sure you follow the dirrctions closely and scan your shade in a bright lit room. The foundation shade that resulted from my scan was pretty close to my current shade from a different brand. From what I see online it may be one shade too dark. I did not go to the store to see if the shade was sctually perfect and for that i can only give this app 4 stars.
