Why use Barron's 1100 ?This application is an ideal tool to build effective vocabulary and to prepare for GRE, GMAT, SAT and TOEFL.
How to use the application to learn word meanings effectively ?Start by selecting a particular Set or Alphabet. Have a look at Words and Meanings from Word Lists a few times. When you feel confident that you know the meaning of most of the words, move to Flash Cards.
Flash Cards will challenge you more, as now you will have to guess the meaning. Keep going through Flash Cards till you have mastered all of the words.
Start another Set or Alphabet now and do all of the above mentioned steps.
A few days later go back to Set/Alphabet for which you previously mastered the flash cards list. Reset the progress of this Set and try Quizzes now. Quizzes will be even more difficult, as this time you will have to select correct meaning from four confusing meaning. Proceed with the quizzes till you have mastered all words. At this point you can be sure that you have learned almost all the meaning effectively.
* If you find a word with meaning too difficult to remember, favorite that word. Later, to avoid wasting time on already learned words, you can change the settings to see only favorite words and use flash cards and quizzes to learn only these words.

Overall loved the interface and words available. A small suggestion : as we can select lists based on different alphabets or different set number, there should be some setting using which I can give a quiz of words from the combination of different sets ( say set 1,2,5 and 14). I'll definitely suggest this app over magoosh and galvanize. At last I would thank the creators to provide this beautiful platform that is helping me a lot to improve my biggest weakness i.e. vocabulary.
Simple yet effective app. The app provided a 3-step method to effectively learn the vocabulary list. I would prefer to have a way to change the vocabulary set from the home screen without going into the settings
The words which generally have multiple meanings are not reflected, making it difficult to understand the usage. Other than that, the app experience is good and sonis the flashcard system.
It's a decent app but the interface could be made a little better. The words can be slotted by difficulty levels and sections. There should also be a metric to tell us how many words have been mastered.
Everything in the app is okay except for one very irritating and frustrating thing. dont know if it is a bug but why does the word change automatically when using flashards. Even if i accidentally swipe left or right or go to settings or open my phone notifications or do whatever except stay on that screen, the word changes (facepalm) edit: read ur response to similar bad review that it was done purposefully. believe me when i say it is doing more harm than good as many people dont just use app for quiz. they use it to learn new words so when they are learning smtg and want to google synonyms u wont let them. I feel this is more of a 'let them stay only in our app and stop them from using other sources even if that means they lose valuable marks and time' , i regret buying quiz now.
I have purchased premium of this app, but the quiz section has not fulfilled my expectation. It does not have a synnonym and antonym type of quiz, no sentence completion quiz, so overall not that much helpful for easily memorising and recollecting.
I like it. Convenient and catchy. It would be priceless if we could add some comments to every marked word in our own language. It could help to remember the meaning better. Could you kindly add this option?:)
Brilliant App, overall has helped me massively develop my vocabulary for GRE Verbal. The filtering criteria and sets that you are able to filter help alot in organizing the learning process complemented by three different modes of learning.
Only 880 words but it's quiet useful for effective preparation. latest edit - i took up the exam, never got a single words from this list, not even the wrong choice has it. literally a waste of time.
A good app but I paid for the upgrade yet I'm unable to access the quiz!!! Why is this so!? Make the quiz available for those who have paid for it. Edit: I got the money refunded but in case the problem is fixed, I would like to purchase the quiz version.
Overall the app is ok. I have one issue with the flashcard. When I minimize the app or the display light goes, the word changes when reopen the app.
The app is really helpful; it enables learning words on the go conveniently. The flashcards feature makes it even easier to master the words.
thank you for making this useful app. the issue that now comes to my mind regarding your app is that, it would be much better to have the role of each word i.e. noun, adjective, verb, .... it's important to know what role each word has in a sentence.
Fabulous app..just use this to score a decent score on vocab Except for not being able to save in a specific gmail account (you can retrieve your progress only in a specific phone) and flash card changing every time u skip the app or open other app
Good app.. one suggestion to developers.. use definitions of words from more lucid sources.. like Webster's dictionary.. some of the definitions of words are vague and might be confusing to fresh eyes.. I needed to keep Webster's dictionary in the background. (P.S. would love to see it on iPad)
Great app, but even after paying for the premium version, I still can't access the quiz. Please look into the matter promptly. The money has been deducted from my account
Good app with usage of words. Could have added the word origins too to help learn better. The gamification part is very helpful as well
Its really a helpful. Flashcard are awesome way of learning and retaining new words periodically.
great! But it needs more example sentences, verb/adj/noun information and pronunciation of the words.
This app helped me to improve my vocabulary and to learn many new words in English in a very easy and intersting way.

I gave 3 as it is no doubt a good app but there is kind of racisms... i was shicked ..one of word homogeneous there is a sentence saying ( if i remember correctly) Blacks love to live in homogeneous places. What does it mean?
For the vocab preparation it is the best way to enrich yourslef with new words. All important and necessary words are only kept. Best ap for vocab prep
it's pretty good. the flsshcard system is very helpful. but it could really use a search button.
Its great to learn words, you can try and google if you dont get few meaning but the flash cards help a lot.
My experience with this app was not great but satisfied with the minimalist starting content.since I'm a pro user, I'm expecting the following features. 1) need to label each word as one of the manually created labels 2) need more context based pictures or sentences 3) you could have put some scoring system for quizzes to evaluate our 4) need to categorize words which we have encountered before, not yet seen, already mastered.so that it will be easy for us to start where we stopped.
