Good app. There is no sorting of watch list and also i can not rename the watch list (watch list has to modify in website). So 3 starts...
4.5 stars actually. There is no way to access market-data from the homepage. I have the desktop version saved because it has a direct link to market-data. Otherwise, great app.
The widget never updates, useless. As well, why is there not a print option in the app, so that articles can be printed for future reference??
I mostly like the app. However it still has some bugs. 1. "Suggest an enhancement" link does not work. 2. Your "save" article option should maybe be called "bookmark article" because article is not available offline. Thanks
Like the app, however does not have the app notification at the top of your mobile device status bar like it used to which was/is a very useful feature. And yes I have checked and all of my notification settings are on for this app.
Update: installed the June 25 2021 version and app no longer crashes. I strongly suggest remembering where the reader was when the user switches to a different app. If I jump out of a story to consult a charting app (for example), when I jump back to the app it returns to home. Reopening the story and getting back to my place stalls waiting for ads to load.
Do not buy for PC Windows 10!. Does not allow lists, charts and such graphic displays as seen in magazine to appear. Completely absent! Expensive app considering the importance of these aids. IE, chart of recommended dividend stocks, etc, etc. These charts do appear in my smart phone mobile android app, but prefer laptop computer app for larger and complete view of charts if they were included but they are not! Need to be fixed!
I get asked to enter fresh login details every time I use it so I've given up. Just go straight to the browser. At least that remembers who you are! Skip the app until they sort that out. Wastes your time.
18-Nov-2021: Tried reinstalling. Multiple reboots, reinstalls, data & cache wipes... 100% app failure during logon. 20-Dec-2019: The new format is terrible. I don't need to pay >$15/mo for Android only to get >50% screen are of truly USELESS graphics. Not charts and analysis but cartoons and portraits. And they don't allow any settings either. Bad move after we already being super limited in what the mobile subscription provides. Cancel now and invest the money. It'll be a much better return.
Content is good, but the app is useless. Asks for a log in everytime when opening the app. Far easier to use a browser.
I like the articles, but all of a sudden the app is saying i cant read any articles, because im not a subscriber. Last i checked, i have an active subscription. Why am i paying for a subscription that i dont get to read?
Just Remember My Login! I don't ask for a lot from a magazine app. This is a big one. Also, put a scroll bar alongside the article. That's just common courtesy.
Got a 1-month trial on Android, but the app thinks I'm not subscribed, and I can't read any subscriber articles. Same thing on the website. App seems buggy and shoddy in general.
Unfortunately, downloaded editions of the magazine don't work offline when using this app. I reached out to customer support decentralized times and they really could not offer any help. Their troubleshooting suggestions did not work on any of the 3 different devices I tried them on
Awful experience. Persistent sign in problems (same as WSJ btw). Can't read offline. Settings say I have 5 issues downloaded. Wheels up on flight....nothing to read. "No internet connection try later" I cannot think of another example where the content and writing are more authoritative yet the digital experience is a smoldering Mickey mouse sh*tshow. And it's been this way since the 2015 app launch. So I keep the paper delivery coming. Even when it rains on Sat morning a soggy Barrons is better
The app is "so so". I prefer it to the pure web experience on my device, but it could be much better. The fact that, when searching for stocks, the symbolic name for ALL matching stocks across all indexes appear with no indication of which index is frustrating - super simple to fix, too.
I just uninstalled.... The app sends me notifications. I see something interesting to read, then I have to login. I can only speak for myself... that's very annoying to have to log-in to my native app. Once I log in it last maybe a few hours?? This app needs to be a little more sophisticated to bypass authentication for paid users while maintaining security. (TSA every device has it) I'm happy to say I'll wait for my weekly subscription to arrive in the mailbox. Cheers!
Rating the app, not necessarily the content. The app keeps asking me to login (I do), and asks again for the next article. Used to just ask every once in a while, now it's a constant stream. I paid for the articles, not be asked to click on "login" every 30 sec..
The content is interesting, but the app constantly fails to load the content and I have to click to retry loading the content. This happens every day, multiple times. It sometimes takes 10 attempts to get the content to load.
The articles work OK but the data is dreaful. Every time I start the app I have to login, it doesn't save the watchlists, the notifications don't always bring you to the article you clicked on. App generally feels unnecessarily clunky for a magazine.
Frustrating app to use - have to log in all the time! I just go to other material to read. And you cannot easily save an article to read later as in email to yourself or save in app, well, because you have to log in all the time.
The Saved articles and Watchlist are not synced from mobile app to web and viceversa.
The app is decent. It has widgets for top headlines, and notifications come at you at a good rate. One thing I would like to see is text-to-speech functionality for all of its articles. I saw that they're testing this out for selected articles on the website, but it would be great to have on the mobile app, especially when you're multitasking.
