IMPORTANT TIP: I downloaded and installed the app with no difficulty. However, when I opened the app, nothing looked right and nothing worked right (hot garbage, as Deborah Dixon described it). I restarted my device and WOW it was a completely different experience. So far, it looks great! Therefore, I strongly suggest that you RESTART YOUR DEVICE if the app doesn't work correctly immediately after you install it.

I decided to try this app out to pay for parking. It wouldn't let me try to pay because I installed it the night before where parking is free. Then in the morning it asked for a login before continuing. It sure would have been nice to get all this done *before* getting to the bart station. 1 out of 5, and that's generous. It's faster and easier to stand in a bank line for small bills and pay with cash.

It works .. but it definitely doesn't make it easy. Bare bones with limited functionality. Trip Planner has issues. Why does it keep resetting date/time from my settings to "NOW". I am attempt to plan a trip, why do you keep resetting the date/time I am planning around. Should also be able to check for earlier/later trains either by scrolling or pushing a button. Now I have to go into the planner and basically guess with a new time and hope I get a later train.

Thank you for posting useful+detailed "What's New" info. Knowing what it fixes and what version it fixes can be very helpful, unlike other apps posting, "Time for your weekly update!" or other such stupid information - what a waste those are. Then there are the added perms w/no reason. It was nice to have an app that had some good features when I came in from half way across the country to find my way to visit a friend and return to the airport a while back. Keeping it in case I visit again.

Train departure info is presented clearly. Great! But if I want to select a different station? Drop-down arrow next to station name takes you to a blank screen. You have to swipe down on train info screen to reveal map, and type in station name at top of map, and then wait for both map and train info pages to refresh. In an underground station? App sits and spins and is totally useless! And Bart appears to have 'retired' mobile Version of Website, which worked way better than this faulty app

It's okay. Encountering "Invalid Request Parameter (time)" error when trying to plan trips. I hope it's not just because it's after midnight. It does not have accuracy down to seconds that the BART runner has, even though both should be hooking to the API. It doesn't have the full reporting feature that the BART Watch app provides (only able to report biohazards).

This a great introductory experience for an official app, and I think it's got a lot of potential. However it can't current match blazing speed of trip look ups provided by BART Runner; in 10 seconds, holding my phone in one hand, I can get station-to-station train estimates, which have many times cut 10 - 20 minutes off a trip by just barely making a train or suggesting BART before my friends have ordered an Uber. The trip look ups here take easily 30 seconds or more and involve many more taps and typing (with autocomplete that understandably doesn't live up to Google maps) for on-the-fly look ups. As a heavy user, BART Runner will still be my go to tool in 90% of cases...now an Android widget with departure times, that would be a game changer. Again, great app, but the competition is feirce.

In general, the app is decently well designed and easy to use. I now use it instead of the 3rd party one I was using before. The downside I find with the app is that it's sometimes slow to fetch results, where 3rd party apps I've used before have been faster. There are also some features that could use some improvement for usability.

App is total trash. There is not one good thing to say about it. Someone needs to make this from scratch.

The new BART app needs great improvement on the how to reserve, pay for and verify a reserved parking place for long term SFO parking. Using a search engine does not directly take one to the proper page. Trying to find it on the "official" app is an exercise is frustration and time waste. With holidays coming, please drastically improve the user experience in this area.

it is not easiest app to use but it does what it needs to do! They should list all station in the 'search by station' input. It should filter as I type to help me select station that I want to choose! When I am underground in SF, it always go to west Oakland station. It needs to be fixed!

Bart should remove the carpool parking feature from this app. It is very buggy and also not practical to use for a use case of parking. I got a parking ticket because the app is buggy and parking tab did not work! There has to be a better way then punch in your parking on a buggy app. Use a one click parking button for frequent carpoolers so we dont have to enter a carpool id every single time. Learn from one click amazon !

There needs to be an offline mode so folks can see static map and usual schedule. The Bart Watch should also just be combined with this, there's no need for it to be a separate app. Whoever's building this app is doing an awful job dealing with basic user experience and user needs.

This app is much better than the others for figuring out when your train is arriving. Also I really like that you can plan a trip where you rely on a combination of biking and transit. I take my bike on bart all the time and this app is exactly what I have wanted for a long time.

Until BART can provide the paying public with wifi hotspots on their trains, this app is practically USELESS. There's absolutely no point in using it if you can't get a signal when your train is in the tunnel or you're in underground station, as your phone will just keep buffering while your ride passes you by.

This app is hot garbage. All I want to do is pay for parking, but it will not let me register an account (says email addresses do not match?) nor does it recognize my old Select-a-Spot login information, nor does it actually send a password reset to the email account that I have had for SIXTEEN years. I'll be paying through the nose to park at OAK this weekend because I can't pay for parking for love or money. Response to developer reply: See above. It did not *let* me create a new account,

Unable to purchase ticket with the app which the Caltrain and SF Muni already do. In addition, when I was in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and China virtually all of those countries allow you to pay the subway trains and related transportation on your mobile device. It is therefore shameful for one of the most innovative/high-tech city in the US (San Francisco Bay Area & Silicon Valley) being incompetent with such basic needs for these day and age. :(

This "Official" app is terrible. It does not work if there's no connection, won't even let you see the map or fixed schedule. The layout is very hard to use and the manu is annoyingly hard to nevigate. Such a terrible app in 2020.

Pretty useless app. Plan a trip doesn't work. Departures is fine, but trying to figure out when you'll arrive at your destination station? Might as well use the station timetable.

Fairly useless This app does not work for trip planning. Says wrong parameters for everything. That's the main purpose for it. I know where the stations are. BART should do better.

Bart app works GREAT and as described. Real-time feedback into train schedules are accurate and useful. Adding a parking carpool feature is FANTASTIC. Any other rating lower than a 3 should be ignored. This is a 5-star app.

Worked great for a few weeks and now it won't even connect, it says "check internet connection". I used it primarily to pay for parking and to my surprise I was unable to this morning. I hope I don't get a ticket for attempting to rely on this app.

The app was broken today and would not load. Gave can not open restart. I did several times rebooted my phone used cell wifi everything. There was no update to apply to the app. I was unable to pay for parking and did not have exact cash so I will probably get a ticket. Station agent website and phone call would not take my report information to contest the ticket. I am posting here a complaint to contest if needed. Thia app should have a backup system to pay for parking that works. It currently

Good app but bulky. Wish if there could be option to create widget. Like I am only interested in 2 stations. If departures could be displayed on home screen for those 2.

Is this app a substitute to the Clipper Card? Can we pay fares using this app? If so, how?
