BART Smiling Ride

Update: app hasn't been updated since the pandemic and is hence useless. 1 star now. Previous review: Wow, finally found a Bart app that does everything I want AND has a clean, easy-to-use interface. Huge props to the creators ... thank you!

I just spent an hour of my life looking through all of the BART apps I could find in the store, and this is the only one that is worthy. It includes the new Warm Springs stop and favourite trips and advisories. It's one of the few apps that has an analogue time choice rather than digital (meaning wasting your time scrolling) or no choice at all. It's not perfect, but it's the best out there.

This app offers nothing there others don't. It is hard to use and cluttered. I like BART App much better.

I so wanted to love this. It has all of the features I want in my Bart app, and packaged in a nice UI. However, the train departure info is SO incredibly off it's not useful. (30 +/- minutes!)

Much cleaner interface putting what the user needs upfront and unobtrusive ads. Thanks for quickly addressing user concerns.

I don't like the update. I used to be able to select an arrival or departure time on the trip planner feature. What happened to that? Now I have to scroll through everything to get to the time I'm looking for.

I don't like ads in my apps.

Edit: new update fixed almost everything that was off with the new version. It's usable once again.

Can I please have smiling ride back?? New update and new format is glitzy and doesn't even have all the Frakes of the old app. Unistalled.

I used Smile Riding BART multiple times a day for the last year and a half and it has been one of my favorite apps. In the last day, it updated and was replaced by BART Planner, which crashes every time I try to open it (upon clicking open I get an error message that it has stopped working. The app never actually opens). Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help. Smile Riding BART was hands down a 5 star app....why ruin a good thing.

Good BART app. Have been using for two weeks and has accurately shown the real-time train status.

Useful app with good trip planning information. This is the most all-inclusive BART app. I love the ability to save Favorite trips and stations. But I wish there was a convenient way to get from "Real time departures" to "when will this train get to my destination?" It's handy for my wife to know when the next train home from work will depart, but once she gets on that train it takes work to figure out when I should be meeting her at the station to pick her up. It seems like the departure info in "Real time departures" should be clickable with that kind of information.

Great features shows the # of cars, can save favorite stations. I'd rate it 5 stars if I could trust the info. During heavy commute hours I take a train up the line a few stations so I can board before the cars fill up to get a seat. Today I boarded the Millbrae train at Montgomery, the app showed I could transfer at Civic ctr and have a 2 minute wait for the Pittsburg train, however at Civic Ctr the Pittsburg train was leaving as we pulled in... 15 mins later I caught the next train. :-(
