This app is what is known as a 'specialty aggregator'; it draws content on a single subject (baseball) from several sources (i.e. Yardbarker, theScore, MLB Trade Rumors). Cards for each article are listed, with the headline. a photo, and a date. Tapping on the card takes the user to the beginning of the source article, minus the source's ads, and the source name is listed. An easy-to-tap-on link is offered at the bottom for users to go to the source's site to read the full article. In some cases, a limited amount of content is offered before the reader is required to click through to get the rest, while in other cases, the entire article is published, meaning that the reader need not tap on the link to go to the source site. For the reader, it's a convenient way to get a preview (and in some cases, the entire article) without wading through the source site's ads. The legality of using copyrighted content is questionable. The app already limits the amount of content it displays for some sites (i.e. Yardbarker), before requiring the user to tap through to the source for the rest. The entire article is published from other sites. How long the app can do this before source sites require some limitation or licensing arrangement will probably depend on how popular the app becomes and/or how tolerant the sources are about having their content republished by a third party. Enjoy it while you can. I recommend that the developers post the source site's name in the front page's cards, so that users will know what source has authored the article.
