Rooted pixel 4 xl running android 12 beta 3. Doesn't work for me. I have granted it super user rights but It has not yet successfully limited battery charge. Every night (via wireless charge) it hits 100%. Even typing this, it is plugged in and charging beyond the set limit. Again the app is up and running in the background with SU rights. The app is simple and utilitarian, which I really like. It's a bummer it doesn't work for me.
Mostly works as advertised on my rooted Note4. Small issue, when I leave the phone charging overnight, it does creep past my set 80% limit - very slowly (about 2% per hour). Only happens when the phone is very idle. I suspect the phone's power saving may be constantly attempting to disable the app, allowing tiny bursts of charging past the limit.
Perfectly Reliable. I've used it for 2 years now and my battery health has not noticeably decreased. Not as feature-packed as Advanced Charging Controller (AccA), for example temperature throttling. Requires manual click on a notification after unplugging, otherwise there is a small amount of battery drain. AccA seems to avoid this requirement.
Running a rooted LG K20 Plus (and am sorry LG no longer makes phones - darn good phones!) App works great on this model. Always stays 78 to 80%. Also noticed charge voltage adjusts itself variably, differing voltage slightly. Seems to charge nicely according to battery. Battery gets slightly warm in charging state, but never as warm and heated up as would get with some other apps I have tried. Great program! I use for portable wifi hotspot and can run 24 hrs straight with no problem...
Works nicely, and app is pretty small. Main thing I'm missing: having the charge notification disappear automatically, or even be swipable, once phone is unplugged. Right now need to expand notification and click "disable".
I like how it allows my phone to stop charging when it reach max capacity. However, if I set a limit to 75%, it would stop charging, but then it would tickle it's way back to 100%. Itusually happens overnight. I even noticed that my battery percentage increased after I unplugged it. I hoped that this app would prevent it.
I'm a power user and usually need to keep my phones plugged to the power cord. Before using this app my batteries used to wore out 25% in two months and in three months I needed to start thinking on replacements. Now I still keep my phones plugged but the app makes the job on preserving my batteries! Thank you to the developer for this great app!
bad notification status: text to long, no custom alarm tone, and the instruction is confusing (it just asking for open the app and always alarming) it would be better if it replaced with eg. sugested user to unplug charge or add action button to snooze alarm or disable/pause apps service when target reached. Anyway, beside that, all good.
[OG Pixel] Doesn't seem to be working for me. Tried with all default settings, then again after checking some boxes that I was kind of unclear of their purpose. Perhaps it's because I'm on a custom ROM (Maybe the developer could let me know). However, I'm rating 5 stars to help offset the brilliance of people rating 1 star, complaining of ROOT, when it is VERY CLEARLY required based on the title. Wow. Just wow.
Had a slight issue to get it to start working, but after relauching it, its just perfect, Im using it with IP camera phone that is always plugged in. It's sad that android doesn't have this build in and you need root and app for this functionality. Thank you for providing it!
Nice but some bugs noticed. In MIUI 10.3.4 for poco-f1, the battery reset stats is not working properly. Even checked n hv toast message of reset successfully, it still not clear previous power usage history. Hv to open the app and press the reset button manually then it reset the stat. Otherwise working as advertise. Thanks developer!
It's quite good, but while in battery maintenance (where device doesn't charge - I've set it to 80-95%) battery drops very fast! It must be the app's service that does this, because when I uninstalled it, this issue was gone..
Its a pretty good app. does exactly what it says. But there is a small problem for me, the app doesnt quit automatically when I disconnect the charger, and the notification stays active. Please do something about this. Anyway its been an year after the last update. (Xiaomi Poco F1, Pixel Experience Rom)
The app works great! But there is an annoying side effect that the screen turns on and off anytime charging is started and stopped, which can be very annoying and I have not found a workaround.
it work perfect with normal charger, but it gets bug in wireless charging. The app is always open and close rapidly, and the phone not charges. Pls try to make this app work with wireless charger. I use wireless all the time. If it can run at wireless charger, 5 star of couse. Thank for the great app. P/s I know what go wrong with my case. It because when the phone rich the limit setup. It stop charging and the wireless charger think I remove the device. But after some seconds It automatic check that is there any device ready to charge and find out the phone still there and start charging. At that time, this app think I plus in the charger and let phone charge but it still hit the limit so this app decide stop charge again. Everything go around and around and...... At the end I have to stop using this app in so sorry :((((((.
I am unsure if this is correct behaviour or not but when setting the cap to 80% - 65% it stops charging at 80% BUT it stays at 80 forever.. I fear that it is still charging a little sometimes so that it always stays there. Let me get that right.. When it reaches 80 it should stop charging until it discharges to 65? And if I plug in my charger at say 70%, is it still supposed to discharge until it reaches 65 or would it charge to 80.. This is really confusing.. I'm awaiting a response..
Sadly doesn't quite work for me. Limits the charge, but not at the right value, then it keeps toggling charge on and off for a while, and then it never kicks back on and by morning I'm left with 10-15% lower than what I set it for.
Pretty much does what it says it does. I'd prefer it if it would switch to only using AC power when the battery limit is reached, instead of letting the battery drain, but the API probably doesn't allow for that.
Works on my Galaxy S10e. Although the phone has high idle battery usage, so this causes this app to make its charge go between the lower and upper limit multiple times per night. Would be nice if it had a timer or something to handle that.
Works great. Suggestion: add a configurable time the limit is enabled/disabled. Use case: disable the limit an hour or two before the time to get up, so the phone can be fully charged at the start of the day. With kind regards.
Everyone complaining that they don't know if it's working or not seem like the kind that would struggle to do simple addition with a calculator. Prior to use, just read up on the app and know how your phone works. The app itself works just fine and dandy, no bugs on any of my devices that uses it.
it worked very well, but stopped for no apparent reason. Im using my phone as a home router and this app is the only thing stopping the battery from blowing up because apparently you shouldnt keep a battery at 100℅ charge all day every day.. i wish it was working again.. UPDATE: started working again -\_°°_/-
This app is so simple and does exactly what it says. I'm a staunch believer of not charging battery over 80% to maintain its health. While earlier I used to be vigilant of the % while my phone was charging now I can just plug it in and forget about it while the app halts the charging at 80%.
I doubt it really stops charging. I set it to 90%. When the battery reaches 90%, charging icon on stock status bar battery icon disappears and LED turns off, but the phone doesn't discharge and stays on 90%. Also, battery usage page in settings shows the phone is charging.
The application was running relatively stable when I used android 9 and I assigned values not above 90 , not below 60 , however after upgrading to Android 10 it keeps running in the background when charging but it exceeds the limit and the batteey reaches 100% .Is there anyway to check and apply a fix in the next update.
Works as described. But wireless charging heats up my phone to where I'm sure it isn't good for my battery. Would be VERY grateful if you could add a battery temperature cutoff to temporarily stop charging if it exceeds a settable temperature!
It's good when it works, I'd like it a bit more stealty, work all the time, reset battery stats and doesn't nag at what it does it's job. Maybe even an option to modify system permanently? So it will work even if you remove this app?
The app did what it was supposed to but in my case it was heating up my phone excessively while charging (the soc not the battery), I was not sure what was causing it but uninstalling the app fixed it for me P.S. :- I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix in case you're a developer and wondering, I would live to hear back from you and potentially seeing it fixed
Love it. Thank you very much for taking the time and putting this up! Needed to manually set settings "Pixel 2" for Pixel 3 (didn't auto detect). After that it worked correctly (default setting worked, but it never started charging again after first disable). Also currently the charging icon always stays on (charging stops and starts correctly though)
