The old battery doctor from maybe a year ago worked just fine, but I installed the update thinking it was time. Now the UI is horrible, I can no longer select an app to stop BD from optimizing (aka reseting) it nor force close it, and now there are ads that fill up the whole screen. Clean Master didn't change its amazing UI, so why did you change yours? Please give us an option to use the old UI.
Just found an article on Buzz Feed News dated Nov. 26, 2018. Cheetah Mobile is involved in a fraud investigation. I suggest users read this article then decide for themselves if they want to continue using Battery Doctor and other apps by Cheetah Mobile. Used it for a few years no problem. But update on December 10 now has the app constantly popping up asking for permission. No matter what I do, it keeps popping up. I sent an email to the company so here's hoping it's fixed soon. I I've sent several emails about the settings screen constantly popping up and also told them that there are a lot of other users having the same problem. Haven't heard back from the company yet. I really hope they aren't ignoring their users.
I'm not sure. I have Clean Master which includes a Battery SAVER feature. I like that one, because I can hibernate. (The full list of apps avaible to hibernate, is shown.) NOT with thIs Battery DOCTOR app. DOES have useful widget, and opens directly to an OPTIMIZER button ... though, I don't know WHAT it's "optimizing". (No details within the app, nor was I able to locate the info via a search online.) DO like the easy access to the battery COOLER, also incl in the widget. I'll test for a while.
Have used this without any problems for years. Update today removed the functionality of the status bar icon, which is a huge part of why I use it. Turning that feature on and off, clearing cache/data, restarting phone, and uninstalling/reinstalling all did nothing. Quite frustrated
Claimed to have 3+ hours of battery time, but their estimate was so off that it went down by twelve minutes within one actual minute. Battery cooler and super saver both so the same thing, which is just closing "background" apps. Shows no stats or details, but loads of ads. Not worth the time or energy.
suddenly this app is sitting on top of other apps when I'm using Waze ora phone call comes in. this becomes dangerous if i am driving. please fix it! my mom is having the same problem and she gets stuck unable to answer the phone and she is not phone savvy. if this isn't resolved by the weekend, we are both uninstalling the app. i don't really want to uninstall it because it had been good up until now, but it is driving me crazy!!!!
Installed it for a few days. Couldn't deal with the excessive amount of ads... Literally everytime you do anything n the app you get an ad! It may have helped with battery life a little idk wasn't enough to be worth it, but it def helps charge your phone faster... Which isn't a big deal to me 99% of the time... And I don't like how it has the battery icon at the top and how it groups all my notifications up into the app instead of showing them, adds and extra step to unlock your phone while chargn
Recent update has popup "Can modify system settings" everytime I interact with any app. I cannot find any way to turn this off, but it interferes with voicecalls, messages, everything, no matter of I select 'yes' on the slider (which I don't want to do amyway, for every app)
I loved this app, and the easy toggle widget. I would have given it 5 Stars until today. An upgrade has made it throw up a permission screen every 5 minutes. It interferes with my phone use. I tried to figure out what was going on, and finally uninstalled it.
Since November, it was actively disconnecting me from my service. I didn't know it was actually doing that until I uninstalled it recently after it kept spamming the modification settings tab over and over when turning up my volume. After uninstalling it, I haven't been disconnecting from my service since.
Good looking doesn't mean it's efficient. I don't need an app to lower down the brightness, i can do it by myself. Doesn't need a genius to know that what is consuming most of the battery. On android, background apps reload themselves after a few minutes so an auto kill apps and clean cache every 5minutes should be the basic. By the way, DROID OPTIMIZER has it for free. Guess what. i actually have better results once i've uninstalled Battery Doctor, haha. too bad, it's not good enough.
Good. I would have raised it to 5 star if I had got a facility to select lower and upper limit of charging percentage, between which my phone should not charge even if plugged in to power source. It will definitely increase life span of battery. With the other apps present in the market, we are just able to set an Alarm for this task and we have to plug off the charger manually, but it is not worthy you busy in other work with a mobile hotspot and mobile plugged into socket constantly..it can damage the battery life. I look forward for the requested module implemented soon in the next coming update. Thanks.
I feel like I am spending most of my time watching this app slooowwwlly(so frickin slow)putting my apps to sleep. One. At. A. Time. Several times a day!!!! This app requires more attention than it is worth. Did Kim Kardashian make this app? I like greenify better. It does the job SILENTLY and without any effort from me. There's a ton of ads. But at least they are the kind you dont have to wait a certain amount of time before it allows you to close them. This app is too high maintenance for me.
Well I'll say this. When I first installed it it seemed to help my battery charge faster and drain slower but I uninstalled it because it got on my nerves the way it opens as soon as you unlock your screen but immediately my battery drained fast and charged slow so I re installed. I really think this app works so ill get over one minor annoyance
Great app, annoying problem. Everytime my device wakes from sleep the app shows the 'allow modify system settings' screen is displayed. It's very annoying to have to exit this screen multiple times a day Let the app run in the background
Have used this app for years, updated a few days ago, and it now spends half its time trying to change system settings, without giving any reason. Have tried both granting and not granting permissions, still just keeps bringing me back to the screen within the hour to ask again. It's crashing other apps to do this. Please do better testing before releasing patches
I downloaded this app about 30 minutes ago. I have never in all my days off searching apps, ones similar to this one, or ones my 9 year old daughter download, weird as they are sometimes 😉 where was I? Lol oh yeah... This app is absolutely incredible!! The battery on this tablet is an absolute POS and would die while charging it if used at all. I've been watching the battery go up 1% every few minutes and am in utter amazement! Great job! 👏👏👏👏💖😻👽
This app started off being useful. But Ive just had to uninstall because it is the cause of my volume buttons invoking the device settings screen! And I have confirmed this by going in to safe mode, uninstalling, reinstalling and re-uninstalling the app. VERY frustrating!!!
After looking in the comments, I had good hopes for this app. But after somd days of trial and testing the WHOLE app, I noticed that it wasn't helping save my battery - if anything, it drained a little faster. Don't lose your time. Good design though.
If you want details like: what apps are using your battery, what apps are getting "optimized" when you hit the shiny button, how much your battery has degraded over time, how fast it charges/discharges... don't download this. This is just another junk cleaner/booster with some vague references to generic battery usage terms. It's basically a crappy wikihow outline in app form. Android gives you more info on its own.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHOSE PHONE ALWAYS HEATS UP WHEN CHARGING. My phone rises in temperature sometimes when charging and it gets REALLY, REALLY hot!! BUT NOW, it doesn't anymore because I downloaded this app and it works really well!! My phone is no longer burning!! This Battery Doctor is awesome!! 👍👍👍👍
If you asked me about the app one week ago I would've gave it 5 stars. But there has been an update and the update is horrible. When I have the app installed every time I press one of the volume buttons it keeps asking me to the app permissions. Even when I do it won't stop pestering me. Please fix this
What....are you joking me? Why the heck wasn't this included with my phone when i first got it?? Honestly...... Got a new phone in March and it worked just fine. By April i had added a weather app and 2 games. The next thing i know i'm charging my phone morning, noon and night. It was always warm (like a Hot Pad in my pocket), and every time i needed it - it's flashing "recharge needed". Searched the web to find the problem only to find a LOT of people had the same trouble. Also found people recommending something called Battery Doctor. I was skeptical at first....but i was desperate and needed a working phone NOW. I tried it and in about 2 hours my phone stopped over heating. I thought, "COOL" (literally). It was back to working the way it did fresh out of the box ....AND i could add some new apps. Really...this is a necessary app for any phone. I just let it take over and now my phone is actually BETTER than when i first got it. I'm not kiddin' !!!
As of right now, this app doesn't seem to actually do anything useful, it crashes when trying to optimize, and gives pretty ridiculous time left notifications that don't match up with how fast my battery is draining.
Since the latest update, my notifications stopped working for all of my other apps, including my email, SnapChat, etc. Once I removed the app, the notifications started working again. Please fix this issue and I'll consider reinstalling.
The last update causes Battery Doctor to come on and take over my screen when I press my cellphone volume button up or down. And it is always asking for permission to "allow modify system settings" .. Give me back the previous version..
Ok, we get it that you need to have ads in order to keep the app free. But even taking that into account, there are still too many for my liking (and those loud ones - ugh!). Which is a shame, as it's not too bad an app other than that. Maybe if there was a paid version I'd install it, but as it stands, the constant interruptions with screaming ads leaves me with no option but to uninstall...
