Battle Chasers: Nightwar

Good but painfully slow. Lovely steam punk graphics, brilliant art design and a deep combat system are massively hamstrung by slow menus, slow transitions and dull encounters. There are so many battles against a single enemy that provide very little Exp, very few drops and very little excitement, but take an awful long time to plough through. This kills the fun very quickly. The game is in desperate need of an auto-battle or '2x Speed' function.

The game runs great and looks great. The gameplay is fun, the story is alright. I now own this on PS4, PC and Android. If you like turn based RPGs somewhat similar to old school (Final Fantasy, Lufia, Chrono Trigger) games then this is a must. The developers did a great job with the mobile port. Playing on a Samsung A8 and I did have to turn the graphics down to 75 to avoid overworld lag but it still looks amazing and is very smooth since the change. 5/5

Well done port. Audio, dialog, skins etc. All of it is just like the console/PC version! Only bummer is we aren't able to load up saves from PS4 or Xbox One yet. Also, the Gentleman Hunt seems bugged. I've done all the steps and the man at the bar gives me no option to trade with him. Dropped review from 5 til I can either transfer loads and/or fix this "bug" Gentlemen bug has been fixed.

One of the best rpg mobile games I've ever seen. Serious, music is great, each one of them in each situation; graphics are incredible amazing, the turned base battle very good, story very nice, the only issue I saw is battery 🔋 goes fast. Top game, deserve 5 stars.... I do recommend

I've installed the game but it keeps on crashing during the loading screen. The bar fills up half way then stopa. Game crashes when I touch the screen. Haven't been able to play at all.

It's a great game that has me already 6hours in and addicted BUT (and a huge but), I'm worried for my device. It's about 2Gbs of size, so nowhere near the 16Gbs Genshin is, and this game gets realllly laggy. The device becomes extremely hot and dropping the quality doesn't help either. Alas, this game is badly optimised, CPU wise for the phone. The gameplay, controls and visuals are all fantastic but yeah...it's a shame.

Excellent. Beautiful, immersive, and engaging. Plenty of depth. Top-notch voice-acting and soundtrack. Polished gameplay and combat mechanics. Fun crafting and bestiary systems. Will probably end up on your top rpg list.

Perfect port of the PC game. Bit slow though and no options to speed up animations during fights hinders the experience. Overall good game tho.

Loving the game so far. I would have given the game 5 stars but it does not have controller support. That being said, the touch controls are pretty solid.

If you haven't bought this game already you're missing out. The story and gameplay are amazing. The graphics and skill animations are beautiful.I can play for hours and never get bored. The perfect rpg game i was looking for 10/10

Been playing for 1 hour, so far love the game and story, but I can't stand the bug. The app keep forced closed in the middle of the game. Samsung galaxy note 10+ user.

Great game on Consoles and Tablets. Only issue is some of the text is hard to read, but overall a duplicate of the Console and Desktop experience.

Beautiful game, interesting characters, awesome combat and everything one wpild expect from a good PC game. The mobile port also works without a hitch, no bugs or crashes encountered thus far. Only thing that doesn't really strike me as amazing, but just "meh" would be the music. The soundtrack doesn't really do it for me personally. Other than that, one of the best games of this year for mobile!

Everything about this game is awesome. The stunning graphics, the characters, the story. The fight system is so well thought. And you really feel the progression of your characters through the story. And it's one of the few games where it's actually fun to go back and re play a dungeon to get better equipment or upgrade your heroes. If you like rpgs, cool stories, a clever turn based fight system, or good games in general, you can't miss this one!

Fun gameplay, JRPG style, starring a comic book cast. Overall well drawn and well animated, and controls smoothly. I originally had a lot of issues with the game crashing and losing lots of progress to the point I gave up in frustration, but I'm pleased to see some of the issues have been addressed. It still crashes, though not nearly as frequently, and when it does, the dungeon does not reset. It seems the game auto saves much more often now--a welcome change. Anyway, it's playable now!

Very fun game but also very buggy. Sometimes the action button gets stuck on some dungeons and you can't do anything, not even fight. You gotta leave then re-enter. Also, I always get stuck on rocks and other stuff. Map navigation outside the dungeons is not great either, the movement is very poor after fights, specially on points that contain both enemies and treasure. Frame rate drops constantly and battery management could be improved. I've got an S9+. But fights are great, so 4 stars.

I really, REALLY enjoyed this game. Like others pointed out on the save feature, you only have the option of 'Save and Quit' and it just autosaves the rest of the time. But you can leave the app open and minimize it for hours and you can come back and resume easily ( least works for me on my s21 ultra ). Otherwise it'll take you back to outside a dungeon but it won't reset your progress, just gotta walk back. Nice graphics, love the turn based system, story made me read the comic. Worth it.

Great game! Losing one star because the performance out of combat is execrable (Pixel 2 XL Android 10) and there is no reason for that. Poor 3D optimization really takes away a major chunk of the pleasure. I mean what's so complex about the world map for the game to run so slowly? Absolutely nothing. It so annoying at times, I want to give it 2 stars, but it would be unfair to the rest game. If it was not the case, it would be 5 stars without a doubt.

Loved every minute of this game. Nothing bad I can say about this game except that my phone (pixel 2 couldn't handle the full graphics so I had to turn them down. I also had some frustrating technical issues with the Google Play achievements. The game would freeze for about 3minutes everytime I received an achievement. I turned the graphics down to 75% and it helped with this issue but it still occured

I had no idea this game was a port. Regardless, the production values are STELLAR. I appreciate being able to lower the graphic quality, as it had a very low frame rate on my LG Stylo, but it is still gorgeous. I'm not a huge RPG fan, but everything from the art style and animation to the voice overs and story are top notch. Very well made game.

This is a great game. I played it on the ps4 originally, and was really excited to see a port to mobile. It still looks great, and the music and sound were still on point. The audio of this game was something I truly thought was amazing while playing through it. The story line is pretty good, I believe it was all based on comics or an on going graphic novel of some sort that I have not read. Needless to say it has interesting characters and plot. The game play is solid, and works.

Absolutely Brilliant. I have just completed my first run through and spent 60+ hours and that's not even 100% completion! Loads of variety, the storyline is fantastic and the dungeons and enemies are challenging without being too frustrating. The characters are excellent, with many different perks and skill combinations. The only down side is that it isn't longer! But it looks like there will be a sequel! 🙏🏻 Thanks for making such an epic game. Can't wait for the next installment!

100% WORTH $10! Excellent turn based RPG. GREAT graphics, a really cool battle system that has plenty of depth which adds to the replayability. Great character customization. Multiple characters that would make you want to play through it again with different team combos. New Game+ is the icing on the cake when there is already enough incentive to play multiple times. I've played 200+ hours and I'm just about to start my 1st New Game+. I also haven't used 3 of the 6 characters yet as well!

Gameplay and the general level of fun is 5*. Really touches on the all the things that are great about JRPGs. That being said, I've stopped giving more than 4*s to games that don't support full cloud save and sync. I should be able to switch between phone, tablet, emulation without having to bat an eyelash. Being able to bounce between devices would really up the awesome.

First the game is awesome. Pure turn based RPG. It has a cool story, wonderful graphics and gameplay mechanics. It is a full game with no ads, paid shop and things like that. Games like this on mobile are almost extinct. It is a port from PC and it is flawless. Controls are very intuitive and well made. On my phone(Nokia 8) the game runs at 60 fps during battles on 100% graphics. I turned graphics down to 75%, because i like the little extra fps when playing in dungeons or on the big map(it jumped considerably, around 5-10 fps). Totally worth it. The only thing that i would like to see is crossplatform saves. I want to play on mobile when in transit and play on PC when I am at home.

Great RPG with good game play, graphics, story, music. I am 63.7hrs into the game and enjoying every moment of it. It is similar to JRPGs where you do need to grind and game can get tough (you can select the level of difficulty for each dungeon and replay them as many times as you like. The dungeons are randomly generated, adding in to the challenge). Crafting mechanics is well done, with lots of skills and abilities to customize your game play.
