Baybayin Translator
Baybayin (incorrectly known as Alibata) is a syllabic “pre-Filipino” writing system from the islands known as the “Philippines”. Baybayin comes from the root word, “baybay”, meaning to spell. The script consists of 14 consonants and 3 vowels. Each of the consonants ends with the vowel “A”. For example, the letter B would actually be BA. The original “alphabet” consists of the following characters:

The vowel sound is changed by diacritical mark called a Kudlit below or above the character. To cancel the inherit vowel sound, a cancellation Kudlit (Virama) is placed under the character in the form of an X or +.
I’m Kristian Kabuay, founder of Baybayin.com and have been a practitioner of the ancient Filipino script since the 90’s. Besides promoting the script via my artwork and technology projects, you can find me facilitating workshops around the San Francisco area. I’m currently working on a documentary, online school and a follow-up to my 2009 book, “An Introduction to Baybayin”.
My vision for this application is for it to become a universal tool for "translating" to Baybayin regardless of your spoken language and also serve as a portable hub for all things related to the script. It’s also my wish that once you become familiar with Baybayin, they also dig deeper into other aspects of our pre-Spanish history and ACT on what was learned.

Im so sorry for this comment but this is what you call rip-off. I'm really disappointed pero sabi nga nila, you get what you pay for. 1.99 usd is still alot, you know. I will change my review kapag na-update na ito. Which I doubt, will happen.
Its working fine in my samsung S3 when you type a word a tagalog word after typing it press the down button on you keypad the one on the lower right of your keypad and it will show you the translation of the word you typed in ^^
I love this app! Very handy. Please add an exit button. It brings me back to the home page infinitely whenever I hit the back key. More power.
If at all possible, support this app. In doing so you also support the Baybayin renaissance and it's artisans and practitioners.
I am glad that finally there is an app for Baybayin translation. May I suggest that you also put an option for the original or other font styles. I want to know how the original Baybayin really looks like. I'm looking forward to the coming soon part too.
I used to gave this app installed on my myTouch 4g and it worked great, but since I've upgraded to the Samsung, the app is just a blank white screen. Please fix!

I just bought it for 5mins ago, why i cant use it. All white appear...
The application is very very sluggish to start up but once its running then its okay. It also hangs when doing multi-tasking in G.Note 2. It does not accurately translate our indigenous clan's name under Datù Paiburong; however we have to do it manually instead. Dont use this app for tatoo.
