Decent so far. Checked all the boxes when i was forced to choose another messaging application. Three fit the criteria that i had set forth. So far, this one is winning. One annoyance that i have found is gifs do not play in the chat window; you have to tap on the still image to view the gif. There is also no indicator informing you that you were sent a gif. Other than that, it's been hunky dory.
I was a BBM user many years ago and always loved it but gave it up and switched to WhatsApp. Since Facebook bought WhatsApp I don't trust it anymore. Now I'm back to using BBM Enterprise and I think it's great. The encryption used is first class and includes both public and private keys for text, voice and video so I know my conversations can't be intercepted. Message delivery is faster than anything I've tried before. Voice and video call connections are instant and crystal clear.
I absolutely LOVED the original BBM, so naturally when it was discontinued I was bummed. I thought that I would try enterprise. What a disappointment. Chats won't send half the time because it keeps "syncing". I've taken to using what's app more because of this problem. I can't count on a message getting through right away. Please fix this issue!!
Definitely not as good as consumer BBM in terms of UI/UE... The only perks of Enterprise are no ads and dark mode. Other than that I miss the old smilies, PING feature, screen shot capability, gif functionality and overall layout/interface of the consumer app. Enterprise doesn't let you PING, send gifs or screen shot anything? Very odd. I hope this app is improved because I really want to stick with it long term.
I was originally using BBM, as the current holder of the rights is incapable of continuing the service many of my contacts have since switched over to BBMe. I really like the user interface (it reminds me of BBOS10 (another manufacturer has blatantly copied and has not been penalized...). It does not have any advertising as it is the enterprise version of the soon to be defunct service. Very fluid, fast, no fluff... if Blackberry could continue what emtek started THAT would be THE 'IM' to get!
A nice app. I don't like having the subscription service (even though it was free for one year) as it was a pain to sign up for. I would like to see some changes in the app, maybe off line messaging and the BBM in the notification bar for easy access. I had no friends that were subscribed or wanted to join the service.
Messages are constantly getting stuck and delayed for hours, making it unuseable. I submitted the issue in detail to BBMe support. Support asked questions, I answered these questions, then I get an email from them saying if they don't hear from me in 24 hrs they will close the case. This has happened twice. It is the strangest support experience I've ever had. Especially considering it's a paid app.
This app is excellent. I didn't realize how bloated the Consumer BBM had become, until we switched over to BBMe. It's a lot more stable and even has a dark theme, something I requested several times to Emtek. Also, the subscription fee is free for a year, and then about $7/year CAD. Well worth it in my opinion as BlackBerry's enterprise related applications are of excellent quality. Bottom line: as long as BlackBerry products continue to exist, I will support them.
Works just like the old BBM, but where are the great emojis? It was a distinctive feature, and one I enjoyed most. r's and d's are super handy, as I am in the trades and just need to know my partner has seen (where to meet, time, etc) and don't rely on responses. Pics go through fast, and I can use it with people still using old Blackberry's. Please bring back the old emoji's, and i will happily pay when the trial is up!
Recently i have been having issues calling individuals both on BBMEnterprise and BBM. Sometimes it takes multiple tries for a video call to actually ring my contacts device(i knoe because we end up speaking on labdline and retrying multiple times). I have an issue where i try bbm video to someone else on enterprise and when i call them they cannot hear me but when they call me its fine. Also even though i explicitly selected the option not to save images to my gallery it still gets saved. Also recently for one contact in particular i am noticing that i only get their messages when i open a chat window with them. This is totally unacceptable for a paid subscription
Quick and Secure as it always has been. Exactly what we want from a messaging app in today's world. People marking this low and having issues with delivery and notifications simply need to toggle the BBME Connected notification icon on. The app advises this. It's found in settings/notifications. Also designed for people who will eventually be able to budget for $2.50. Unfortunately even BlackBerry with such a simple app, will never be able to cater for the lowest common denominator.....
Grave Mistake by subscribing to this app. I had been a loyal user of BBM and so subscribed to the enterprise version after a long struggle with Google Play code redemption. When trying to add contacts, the app just logs out abruptly without any reason. not able to perform any operation on the app. Blackberry, you're ditching all your loyal users. We don't know, what pleasure, you get from that. I don't know, if anybody would care to fix and support me atleast for my subscription that i made.
Came from bbm. I like the streamlined interface. i dont know if its more secure, but i trust it more than standard bbm. I do have a wishlist of course. The old emoji set, and more sticker sets. I'm glad that most of the other additions are absent here. So far, performance is great, and no issues.
The old bbm was way better, The messages dont send if the user is inactive for a long time, it justs has a green tick till they open their phone, the call button dissappears sometimes, and the emoji's the old ones were perfect, over all I'm glad I have bbm.. But it's the not so great version of the old one... 2 stars just for the security!!
Updated to most recent version on 12/28/20 and it was such a mistake - now the bbm texts in HUB are not showing the "read" status, not showing the last text from me, the HUB feature became useless. I love blackberry and BBM and have been a loyal user since 2009!!! System uppdates are for improving the user experience, not otherwise. I hope this will be fixed quickly
Update: The latest update didn't fix the problems between BBM Enterprise and Hub+ Inbox. Read msgs don't show in Hub+ Inbox as read, new msgs don't float to the top of the list, latest replies to msgs don't show up in the list view. Once again, we the paying subscribers are the beta testers! Still love this app, but it would be nice if working features wouldn't get broken by updates!
had to switch over to Enterprise because consumer BBM is shutting down. No complaints at all though. it's the old school version of BBM but I still prefer this over any of the other instant messaging apps that exist today. I love the fact that it uses a pin ID instead of your cell phone number. no ads no spam no solicited phone calls. the $5 annual subscription is well worth it to not deal with the headaches of all that
Now fully encripted!!! Can add your own passphrase as of today. This is now the most perfect text messenger out there hands down. Free for first year. My family uses it because it works on anything, no phone number needed. Perfect for the parent with a iPad only or something like that. Or for people who just want privacy with the added encryption.
Sadly it didnt work as well as I though. Actually I got kicked out of my other device and now I cant sign into any. My subscription was from Google but I was also using it on iOS. I guess this broke the system ever since they introduced billing in iOS. Now I'm stuck and cant log in any device. There's no response from BlackBerry support either. Thank God it has one year free subscription.
Unable to share gifs all of a sudden, and its a pay per use app..shouldn be superior to previous free version. Please bring back the gif sharing and nice animated stickers! otherwise BBM is the best, most secure and ads/nonsense free messaging app. We've been using it for over 8 years now.
Disappointing and not reliable. I loved using the previous version of bbm but BBMe often sits in queue and messages aren't delivered for sometimes hours. We can only use emoticons, sticker shop is gone. Unless there are great improvements with BBMe I do not plan to pay for a subscription when it is no longer free. Very disappointed!!
Been Using BBM from the Beginning, always loyal to BB. I understand folks arent happy about paying now, but for the price... No ads and security are worth it. However there are some issues I'm Not happy with. Many reviewers & folks feel the same, BBME MUST bring back the "PING" feature and the childish imojies muat go (bring back old ones please). Have had issues with double messages arriving, days where can't send or receive and hour long delays!! These issues need to be fixed SOON.
Super happy that BlackBerry opened up their enterprise software to individuals .absolutely my favorite and secure messaging platform. I particularly like that it is pin based and not on a phone number. Also, you can use up to 5 devices across all platforms, phone ,tablet laptop by example all at the same time .thank you
This would likely be a 5 Star review if not for the constant issues with messages just hanging, waiting to be sent. Turn your WiFi off and they send. Close the app, re-open it, and send another message and they send. It is entirely inconsitent and cannot be relied upon
BBM consumer > BBM enterprise. Bring back the ping!!!! Poor first experience. Setting up and signing in was surely done by a developer and not by someone who knows anything about front end user experience. Trying to get people to sign up has always been an issue with BBM. Once you get past that, its a great communication tool!
